That was staged too. I actually found it weeks before and didn't film it. So, to get the video I just took it out to the street and recreated the moment!

I literally am putting the finishing touches on a mandolin as we speak and yet I didn't think to use a circular bit to get circular points on an f-hole. Also, if you have dark wood and need side dots, might I recommend toothpicks?
@dannylewisguitars Жыл бұрын
Toothpicks is a good idea! I wanted to bind the fretboard on this one in maple, so I needed darker side dots.

You are very good at this as amateur builder! Nice story behind wood you choose

@robinleebraun77392 жыл бұрын
You can make an electric guitar out of nearly anything as long as you have a solid enough structure to take the string tension, a way to tune the strings and a way to mount and adjust the string height and pickup height.

What's the name of that tool at 2:50 ?
@dannylewisguitars2 жыл бұрын
It’s called a spoke shave. It’s a hand plane that is great for making things round or taking the corners off pieces. This is a very cheap one I bought off Amazon for probably $14. You should get one and try it out! They’re very fun to use.
