So sorry to hear about your sister. I am praying for her. I had Dengue at the age of 22 and it was horrible. You feel very close to death, so much pain and fever. I did get the shot before and that didn't stop it. So I am in empathy with her.❤

In Davao, we normally give durian fruit to a dengue patient. It helps when the platelet is going down. Just sharing what we experienced.

Many years ago I had a health issue and a military doctor told me to ask my wife and mother-in-law for a local remedy and I was better in two days. The tea didn’t taste good but it cured me. yes dengue is very dangerous thats why george afraid of mosquito we are lucky that no mosquitos in our place un likie in manila very dirty sorounding . so be careful there bpth adam and jane coz u have a lot of olanys in ur back yard sometimes mosquito hiding in the plants so be aware i love u guys see u in ur next vlog

I hope Jane's sister is home and fully recovered. 🙏🏻 I believe once you have had dengue you can get the vaccine. It generated a lot of controversy years ago because the Philippines government vaccinated many children despite the manufacturer specifically warning not to give it randomly but only to those previously infected.

I agree with this comment. Absence to the mind of most Filipinos is use of tawa-tawa herb in countering dengue fever. Boil several plants of this herb, let it cool and drink it like a tea and in couple of days one's platelete count will increase to a normal level. This is a Filipino home remedy to fight dengue.

I contracted dengue fever while on a trip to Costa Rica. When I got home to the Philippines, in a pretty bad state, my wife pumped me full of a blended mix of papaya, durian and lemon juice. I experienced over a week of fever and delirium but she kept me hydrated and gave me some kind of local concoction to make me sleep. She washed me every day, changed my sodden sheets and burned leaves in the bedroom. She refused to turn on the aircon as, apparently, being cold is detrimental to recovery. I emerged having lost a lot of weight - not a weight-loss diet I would recommend - but feeling healthy, albeit somewhat drained.

Dengue is similarly transmitted by mosquitoes 🦟. The red blood cells disappear and you need blood transfusion in the end. After healing it will not appear later on as Malaria does.
