Sheldon mate, as soon as I saw the Instagram story, I knew I had to leave a comment. I haven’t commented/been on KZbin in general for a few months, but this definitely hit differently. Nobody truly knows what the future holds for you and your journey, but I wanted to let you know that I will always be grateful for everything you’ve provided for us and showing every step of the journey, the good and the bad. You’ve honestly helped me out of ruts within my own football, at times where I felt like giving up and quitting. Seeing you succeed only motivated me and inspired me to keep going. If you do eventually return to football, all the pain and suffering you are going through now will make it all the more sweet, and I truly believe you have it in you to come back if your knee enables you. Like you mentioned, there have been pro players who have been in similar situations and made successful recoveries, notably Santi Cazorla comes to mind. Regardless of what the outcome is, I will always be a supporter of yours my friend. Best of luck 💪🏼

My dad had 80 percent of his meniscus removed when he was 47, he had played soccer his whole life consistently, doctor told him he probably wouldnt play anymore, he’s 63 now and still plays on two teams.... it’s not over bud, don’t you believe it’s over for a second

Problem with that is bro Sheldon's a 23 year old who was on the cusp of playing at a very high standard. He's got everything and has dedicated his life to football. Your pops is a old man who plays abit of 5 aside on the astro turf for a hobbie.

I've been in this same situation before and felt the incredible depressing lows of hearing you'll never be able to play again. Keep your head up and just focus on the day ahead of you without thinking too far into the future. The chances of coming back may be larger than you think and even if there is only a small chance of a return it is something that is worth fighting for. Here's to wishing you a successful recovery, you've been and still remain an inspiration to many players out there.

Sheldon , l have been through two ACL surgeries and one arthroscopy for partial menisectomy. I am back playing at the pro level. If l can do it you can do it. The partial menisectomy you will do is a different story and will help you massively. Keep it going and you will be fine. 👊🏻

Very very tough to watch brother. It’s crazy that In life no matter what decision you make even non football related, there’s the small possibility of the worst case scenario. You have beaten the odds already by showing everyone you won’t give up which is why 99% of athletes make it, I believe you can beat the odds now and return to football and have a good career. You need you to stay strong mate and keep going as whether most people believe it or not, you pioneered this whole “football journey” thing on KZbin which inspired me and most other players to do it too. Not sure if you are religious at all but if there’s one thing I’d say is have some faith bro believe me. Also the mind is a big factor in things like this. Although it’s a physical injury, believing in your mind you’ll be okay is sometimes the driving force to boost chemicals in your body to support healing. KEEP GOING bro and I’m sure you’ll be on the pitch again this year 💪🏾

look into ATG kneesover toes guy Ben Patrick, he is THE VERY BEST KNEE RECOVERY EXPERT and I know for a fact that he can help you return to full fitness at an ever higher athletic ability. He had two surguries on both of his knees, and was about to have a third on his meniscus when he decided he would repair it naturally. He took his vertical jump from 19 inches to 42 and trains hundreds of pro basketball players. Best of luck I know that you'll be playing soccer in a first division sooner than you think.

Bro. I hear you. I lived what you are going through 3 times before. I’ve had acl done twice, meniscus repair / removal more than once. Have lived 3 knee surgeries and told that I shouldnt play football anymore, I’m age 33 playing Brisbane Premier League. Honestly I know we feel negative and its almost hard to believe what is possible and what is not possible. My doctor told me once and I never forgot: “the body wants to heal” do the surgery, give it time. Rush the recovery, never rush returning to the game. You will play again. Don’t worry. I’m telling you this. You don’t know me, I don’t know you, but I’m telling you you will play again. Change that mind set. Stay positive. 💪🏽

Hey Sheldon I know how you’re feeling I had recently partially torn my ACL and meniscus I’m currently going through rehab and I got hurt just turning as well no contact and my knee just popped it’s been a bit over a month now since it happened but it’s hard I just know that we’ll get through this and keep playing the beautiful game.

Dude, I feel you. But be positive. You will be right again it might just be more complicated. Both my ACL injuries had complications my first needing 4 total surgeries before a ton of time before I was ready to play again. The same type of thing was said, but along as you don't give up whatever happens is out of your control. Stay strong dude!

Ey man I was in a go kart accident 4 or 5 years ago and it sliced my leg open over my whole left thigh. I had to get over 70 stitches. The surgeon and doctors told me that it would be a miracle if I was even able to walk in a year let alone play futbol. The day after my surgery I was walking and a month later I played in my first game back from the wreck and scored a hat trick. You will be ok man just keep your head up. Its easy to get down but just keep looking forward and don’t give up.
