115", 5,000 nits and 20,000 dimming zones sure is impressive. but mostly i'm just happy to see somebody other than Sony and Samsung deliver a Jaw Dropping TV to send big boys the message that they actually have to compete and not simply work out an agreement with each other to sell overpriced junk.
@PSYCHOV3N0M
@PSYCHOV3N0M 26 күн бұрын
20,000 dimming zones is NOT impressive whatsoever. 🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂 4K has over 8 million pixels. 20,000 zones is nowhere near enough to cover 8 million+ pixels. The LCD TV that came the closest to OLED's contrast ratio is the now-discontinued Hisense U9DG Dual Cell LCD 4K TV which has over 2 MILLION local dimming zones thanks to its secondary 1080p grayscale panel.

@@PSYCHOV3N0M that’s why it’s mini LED and not microLED If you had as many local dimming zones as pixels, It’s literally the next technology🙄 and right now that next technology cost over $100,000, so… And as for being accurate - I don’t think we should call it “4K TV”- to me that would mean 4000 x 4000 = 16M pixels. In fact it’s 3840 x 2160 pixels (which doesn’t even have any relationship to 4K anything) = 8.3M pixels. We should be calling it 8.3M TV in my opinion…

@@kineahora8736 The naming "4K" does not refer to the resolution but to the horizontal pixel count. It derives from "DCI 4K" (Digital Cinema Initiatives) which has a resolution of 4096×2160! 3840x2160 is the resolution that is used in the consumer market because it keeps the 16:9 aspect ratio...

I helped a friend wall mount a 100U8K. It absolutely destroys every picture quality aspect of my JVC NX7. The Hisense is brighter, sharper, better contrast, better black levels, better shadow detail, better color depth and accuracy, better screen uniformity, Dolby Vision, lower input lag, 120hz VRR, much less expensive, etc. The only advantage the projector has is size. The JVC will be my last projector, my next display will be an extra large mini LED. Oh and for the dummies in comments yelling about the $27K price of this TCL: the JVC NZ9 cost $23K which does not include the screen, interconnects, sound system, ceiling mount, installation, etc. The NZ900 will be close to $30K and both will not yield anywhere close to the picture quality of a much cheaper direct display. Plus unlike JVC and Sony projectors, these new large displays will come down in price very quickly and there are currently 100” LEDs available now for less than $3K.

Nothing wrong with being excited about a tiny 115 inch tv, but thinking it puts projectors in trouble is lunacy. 1. The tv costs $20,000 for a 115 inch screen. I bought a brand new Bbianlyy native 4k projector for $189. It comes with bluetooth, electronic keystone, hdr10 support and I get a 151 inch screen. 2. You need a crane to transport that heavy monstrosity to your house and at least two men to install it. I caried my projector home in my backpack, set it on a shelf and was watching it 5 minute after I got home. 3. The bigger the tv screen, the more annoying reflections you have to del with. haven't had a reflection issue since 2017. 4. The TCL will always be a niche product that will not appeal to the average consumer. The best selling tv' on Amazon is a Vizio 40 inch that sold 10,000 units last month, The TCL 65 inch moved 8000 units. The best selling projector was the Happrun 1080p that moved over 10,000 units last month and costs $69.00. With budget 4k projector prices dropping in price, there's no way a $20,000 tv could put the projector market in BIG trouble. It's TOO little and expensive to cause even a blip in the projector market.

@budala1969 Maybe you missed the point. 2020 I bought a 1080p for $238. The cheapest 1080p was $189. Now you can get native 1080p for $69. The Bbianlyy may not be the greatest native 4k projector but it's the first native 4k for under $200. It's just a matter of time before other native 4k projectors start selling for $100 or less. Now you laugh at the comparison but as I pointed out, the average consumer doesn't buy Bugatti.

And oh course they will always have to be cheaper otherwise the TV will still be the best pick. So UST needs to be close to this at a cheaper price and UST is king again! Still can't come close to 100% rec2020. This is why UST are so good color depth is very important for pop and real looking image. Coupled with low blacks a good contrast. We need the HDR standard to start doing 4,000 Nits HDR graded content instead of 1,000 nits now. Even OLEDs are up at 1500 nits and even higher at times. Same with most higher end MinILED which goes even higher. We need to be able to experience HDR as it was meant to be seen past 1K nits.

Ouch. That input lag spike with local dimming enabled is a deal breaker for me. Damnit. Does anybody know if the 23’ QM850G has that same input lag increase with local dimming enabled? Maybe this is just an early firmware bug?
@TheMailerDaemonLives
@TheMailerDaemonLives 28 күн бұрын
Well the 850g doesn’t have high local dimming available in game mode, so the 851g does but at the expensive of lag.
@DizTV
@DizTV 20 күн бұрын
@@TheMailerDaemonLives Hm, so maybe this is just an LD High issue? I’m going to reach out to Rtings in hopes they’ll test all three LD settings when they do their input lag measurements. Looks like they just purchased the 24’ QM8 so they should begin working on it soon.

115 inch TV, sounds awesome. So many dimming zones but it's TCL and the price is too much considering the fact that its algorithm isn't able to beat the X95L. Hope TCL and Hisense can at least match the X95L's algorithm one day, with their number of zones they'll be able to give great value to us consumers. I guess since no one else has a 115 inch TV, TCL can price it what they want, makes sense. But still would've expected a bit better local dimming performance. At least it's better than Samsung tho lol

i used a cardboard model to test the largest size TV that i can get into my basement ( where you would want your home theater to be ) and it was only about 85 inches ... so projectors have some life in them still ... but when you see a truly bright screen it is hard to go back ... remember 5,000 nits is NOTHING compared to outdoor brightness ... we are going to see brightness of screens increasing to at least 10,000 nits.
