For clarity - the average person loses 100 strands a day. Your shedding isn't unusual at all for two months of zero manipulation.
@mistyfisher9389

THANK YOUUUUU!! I jus commented on this exact topic!! .. In reality the amount of hair Isi held up after combing out her hair was NOT at all an unusual amount of hair "loss" for 60 whole days (so for example, let's take the least amount 50 strands hair loss a day, so 50 strands x 60 days = 3000 strands of hair loss in 60 days, now if we take 100 strands that is 6000 strands of hair .. so what she showed us was NOT 6000 strands of hair in that pile) so we know that Isi is NOT LOSING AN ABNORMAL AMOUNT of hair at all, for those 60 days!! In fact it is not a loss of hair at all, we naturally shed approximately 50 to 100 strand of hair daily ... I really wish someone would let Isi know, cuz she always seems to be bothered/worried about the amount of hair she claims she loses when she combs out her hair from having braids in for an extended period of time!!

LOL I scrolled down after she commented on the hair loss and I was like "Dude...it's 2months of shed hair stuck in your head--"/scrolled to see if anyone pointed it out LOOOL- The thing is...people gotta get used to seeing that much hair after long protective styles..hence, longer hair strands visually make the shed process look more massive during shedding.
@mistyfisher9389
@mistyfisher9389 3 жыл бұрын
@@unflippedfedora you are welcome hun! Apparently there are people who do not realize that on average we lose 50 to 100 strands of hair everyday. So please do not be concerned if you have some 'hair loss' when you brush/comb out hour hair daily and find some hair left in your comb or brush . Again as long as you can eyeball it and see it isnt any more than 100 strands .. and then if you are someone who does protective hair styles for longer periods of time, also keep in mind those same 50 to 100 strands of hair being multiplied by however many days you left your hair in the protective style.. Like Isi she left hers in a protective style for 2 months which is 60 days . That is 60 days times 50 to 100 strands of hair (so we would have approximately Bare minimum of 3000 strands of hair or maximum of 6000 strands of hair for those 60 days, in the pile of hair that we shedded) so as long as it the amount of hair you lost appears to be less than 6000 individual hairs then GIRL YOU ARE GOOD, and obviously if it appears to be less than 3000 then you doing HELLA GOOD!!

@@quasar4472 ABSOLUTELY!!! Seeing that much hair after along period of time all at once can be VERY scary, and make us worried we are going bald, however knowing that we lose 50 to 100 (on average) strands of hair DAILY helps us realize that WHEWW WEEE Thank You Lord that I am NOTTTT going bald!!

This is a misconception about taking down braids after a protective style. She didn't lose lots of hair; she only lost the hairs that were supposed to be shaded everyday, but the cornrows kept those hairs from falling to the ground. We lose about a 100hairs per day and after a couple of months, the loose hair that she is holding in the shower is the result of those hairs not being able to fall out by themselves.

@Ashanti i had that same problem, before so what i started to do is change up my product. I was using hair mayonnaise as my deep conditioner n that shit ain't work. So I switched up and used mielle deep conditioner. I started getting trims regularly and deep conditioner means like either going under a steamer or letting it stay in for a about 2 hours. I use my steamer. I also add aloe to my deep conditioner as well.

SOMEONE PLEASE notify our girl that we lose approximately 50 to 100 strands of hair DAILY, so when you factor in that information, Isi has normal hair 'loss' when she takes her hair out of the braids!! Isi girl looking at the amount of hair you had shedded is actually in reality very GOOD and no where near what the normal hair shed would amount to be for those 60 days your hair was braided!! .. You prolly had somewhere around 1000-1200 strands of hair that you was holding up in a big pile for us to see, that you said is a "substantial amount of hair loss" but again in reality knowing that we all shed approximately 50 to 100 strands daily, that pile was nowhere near being an unreasonable amount of hair shedded for those 60 days at all!!

I took out my mini twists that I had in for 5 weeks (took two days to take out lmao). I also trimmed my ends cuz they was looking dusty af, currently in little doodoo plaits till I do my whole wash day tomorrow, lawd my scalp is itchy and is screaming at me to clean it lol. I know for a fact I really need to clarify my hair and do a protein treatment. I have been lazy af with my hair lately, seriously this pandemic is sucking away my energy since I gotta go work as with my work I cant work from home 😭😭 actually more tired than usual
