My dad Mark 'Bucky' Buckman was leased to TMC for over 24 years. He owned his own truck and trailer. 24 years of safe driving awards, over 2million miles, & he loved driving for TMC. And I have to say they went above and beyond any company I know for him.... When he was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer his dispatcher drove over 2 hrs to the house to visit him as well as Tony Baras (?sp) not to mention some of his other TMC family. They were all amazing! To top it off the company bought his truck and trailer from him and gave him the difference after they sold them. We came home from his Chemo and sitting on the steps to the house was a trophy... TMC had removed his swan hood ornament off the truck made it into a trophy that thanked him for his service and dedication to TMC! GREAT COMPANY from top to bottom. Frustration is a part of life & comes with any job but some companies make it a little more tolerable. TMC is one of those companies. Good luck to ya Lone Wolf! Roll on!

600 to 800 dollars weekly won’t cut it for me bro - that’s what the majority of Guys who’ve joined TMC are saying right now and I’m the kind of guy who doesn’t mind staying out for a little over 3 weeks - I can’t believe TMC truckers are making just as much as MC Donald’s employees but I understand that rookies like me have to go through this starting process which can be disheartening at first

I have no idea what TMC drivers are making on average right now. If $600 to $800 has become the norm (average) then that would mean current TMC drivers are making 50% less than when I was there. I find that hard to believe but I 💯 agree that would be unacceptable if it is indeed true. 💪🚛💨💨💨

I first want to say thank you for your content and I definitely appreciate and respect your opinion/views on the company. I worked for TMC in the late 90’s and still to this day am thankful to the company for putting me through school to get my CDL license to start my career in the trucking industry. After leaving my trainer I think I started around 25% pay and at the time it wasn’t bad but I live in the Northeast. With that said I experienced a ton of low paying loads from the Port of Wilmington or the shingles from the plant in Frederick, MD. Every so often you could get a decent Griffin pipe load that paid pretty good but more times than not it was a load paying the truck $500. If you run 5 of those loads a week after taxes/deductions you basically hanging around $600 a week. I even tried to run the Chicago Metallic run out of Baltimore to Chicago and pretty much the money was the same. I knew I could make more money by working local and that would be a better fit for myself and family so I resigned from TMC. They had top notch equipment and facilities. When I started they had terminals in Harrisburg, Indianapolis, Columbia, and Des Moines. 20 years later and Im still working local and home every night. Be safe on the road bro. What’s the annual pay like for a first year trucker? I like greyhound as a driver, but I want to get into a truck and preferably in a niche that requires some more physical input.

Home every night, work 5 days on two off. Paid by the hour with OT and 3 weeks paid vacation. Last year gross was $126k. I don’t have to live anymore on the road told how to idle, how to drive, how fast I can drive and labor including spit shining floor mats for free. The product loads and unloads itself. Haul petroleum, love it. Just remember, when the freight rates go down, which they are now you’re doing the same hard work for less money. That would be like a company that paid you by the hour would have certain times of the month where they would take one or two dollars off an hour from you. Remember, being paid by the load is not smart way to work.

@aviatortrucker62853 ай бұрын
@@TheLoneWolfTrucker I work for a Petroleum hauling company in Missouri. I load transport and deliver gasoline, diesel, and sometimes jet a and kerosene. Requires tanker and hazmat endorsement along with TWIC card. Working in this industry with most tanking companies will pay by the hour, some better than others, and obviously will have different start rates. Some pay by the load, some pay by salary, but most are by the hour. Some do overtime in which they pay overtime after 10 hours or mostly over 40 hours. My best guess starting rate for a new driver that has at least 1 to 2 years of truck. Driving experience is around $24 an hour for most companies. That may be on the low end.

If you like being home with family and not living like an animal in a truck being to told your pay will be affected by your comfort, it is an option. I don’t like being on the road anymore, unable to make plans and being out in the extremes wrestling with a tarp on a load that sits in a receivers yard uncovered. Most important for me is not doing piece work for free. Fueling, cleaning, tying down loads and most important falsifying logs. I know it doesn’t take 15 or 30 mins to tarp a load. 2.5 hours in some cases. Then there’s the issue of 63 mph truck on a road with an 80 speed limit. Extremely dangerous! I was a veteran I earned my license through troops to truckers in San Diego. I started the orientation process at TMC, but because California was so late sending my license to me I was sent home. People there were kind of hateful about it all.

Well- -I did not even make it to the starting gate. I told them I suffer from acrophobia and that I would not be able to stand on top 13-feet off the ground where it is a 12% chance of a mortality fall and a 55% long-term to permanent disability. Since I am old, increase those chances by eight percentage points. Add another five percentages for likely landing on hard-pack. The recruiter told me I am already a washout since part of the physical a recruit must pass is-you guessed it-to climb 13-feet in the air on top of a plywood load-with no railing-or any other form of fall protection. ☹️ Oh well-they were not going to offer me a manual-transmission truck-tractor anyway....😒
@TheLoneWolfTrucker2 жыл бұрын
Acrophobia will definitely be a challenge doing flatbed... you may want to consider pulling a conestoga trailer if you're going to commit to doing this line of work. 💪🚛💨💨💨

@@TheLoneWolfTrucker Thanks for the reply. CRST Malone recruiter, after telling her that I am unable to do the 13-footIe-tap-dance and thus requested a curtain-side trailer, has since ghosted me. When I applied for a $18.00/hr "ground man" job at a roofing company a few years ago, the interviewer proceeded to bait-and-switch me to work walking on roofs! I told the goof "if I could walk on roofs, I WOULD BECOME A ROOFER and MAKE the $29.00/HOUR...!!!" In the past, I did not see enough of a premium in compensation, especially as a company driver, if flatbed or refrigerated hauling relative to dry-van. In 2022, I do see the light. QUESTION: When you say "your truck", do you mean your "assigned" truck as a company driver, or literally "your truck-tractor" as in your name on the title or on a long-term lease contract..?? Inquiring mind wishes to know... ++++++++++++++++
