When I drove for TMC, my "TRAINER", Les Cassidy, instead of "TRAINING" me, spent a lot of time at pickups talking about me to drivers of other companies. He looked for me to strap/ tarp/bungy the loads even though I was a dry van/ refeefer driver with no flatbed experience except for the orientation training I received in Des Moines, Iowa. I was sick 1 day and couldn't drive on Wednesday, we got home time on Saturday. On Monday when he hadn't shown to pick me up, I called the dispatcher, John and was told I had been fired because Les Cassidy said I act like I just didn't want to drive. I sent John a Qualcomm message stating I was sick on Wednesday, and told Les Cassidy as well. He never liked me being on his truck from the start and it showed at every drop/ pickup we made. I enjoyed the orientation training and the friends I made and the pay. If I'd had a better trainer, I'd have stayed and retired with my own truck to modify.

Dang that sounds miserable! I’m sorry that happened to you! :-/
@Stuffandfangs Жыл бұрын
That sucks, at least at Melton they told us if you have ANY problems with your trainer or vise versa call them and they will give you a different trainer. That’s what I would do, I would report it to the company that he isn’t doing his job by refusing to train you, that’s what they’re paid to do, if they aren’t doing it they are the ones that should be fired.

I loved TMC while at it. But you said you made close to 90k. But that was adding in 11k in referral money. And reason I say this is your social media presence helped you achieve that so not knocking your hustle. A normal evaluation would of been just you reg pay with training pay. So guys won’t ask WHY IS HE MAKING 90k and I am only making 70k. I am not being negative but just be more realistic for some of the new drivers coming in the industry
@Titan.Fox562 жыл бұрын
TBH for me I wouldn't even be griping if I was making 70k 🤣🤣 cause to me that's pretty dam decent, I'm not a trucker "yet" I'm still having a tough time choosing between Maverick and TMC, but I'm a single man with no kids, and barely any bills (the money I saved up from my other jobs I bought a nice camper to live in on land my parents own) and with my permit that I just got I'm undecided on Maverick or TMC. The only thing I'm unsure about is besides Maverick does TMC have WiFi on their trucks aswell? and the only other con about TMC for me is the whole not having an apu to keep you cool during the summer heat but I know there is ways around that with how far inventors have gone to create portable a/c's and what not. When I start training with which ever company I choose I'm expecting to only come home during MAJOR holidays like thanksgiving, Christmas, and maybe New Years, but after that I'm planning on stay OTR for a good years to rack up money, then go from there, I do plan on being my own authority one day, but got to get the baby steps first.

@@Titan.Fox56 When I was there they didn’t offer Wi-Fi only bring ya own hotspot lol. They also push you not to run your truck to keep cool so as to not affect your percentage pay. And the direct tv half time worked lol.

My question is; Do u get paid during the 3wk cdl training & the 4wk ojt & if so, how much?? Just close ball-park figure is fine, I kno ery1's deductions are different. B/c the other company I'm lookin at, its= 1st 3wks, NO pay & u have to provide your own meals, the 4-5wks with a trainer, is 800/wk before taxes, once in your own truck- GUARANTEED no less than 1,000/wk before taxes(just have to be available & willing to run/ no turned down loads, etc.)-- Like, if your truck breaks down or it's in for service, you'll still get that guarantee cause you're there & ready-willin' to run. But, if u run more you'll get more. I'm FULLY ready & want to stay out months at a time. Oh, and after runnin for a while, if like my wife or daughter, wanted to go on a a week or 2 run with me, does TMC allow that??

89K gross. Yes that includes referrals bonuses. So 78K without them.
