Why are we talking about child porn in the Phillipines where as this is happening right at our doorstep in Kenya. German high profile men (lawywers, doctors, police directors....the list is long) come to Kenya and do the exact same thing with our children, and we are not shouting loud enough...It is frustrating and annoying. It sounds like Melissa was making too many excuses for her husband. If those were her own children in the pictures and videos would she have been so lax in getting the police involved? She keeps saying its not my place to say this...its not my place to do that blah blah blah. But she kept having interactions with him and not calling the police instead she was telling him to go for therapy!! God alone knows who s child or children that monster must have harmed in his life time- but I know if I saw something like that on my husband s computer I would be calling the police pronto! Some women turn a blind eye to child molestation/ port and instead think the man can be redeemed or worse still if I don t say anything it will go away. For someone as eloquent and articulate as Melissa who describes herself with a certain amount of arrogance as a sapiosexual, I find her attitude and behaviour in this case sadly lacking!!

@startingoverbygrace Жыл бұрын
Wow! This is deep. To know that she would have lost her child to her abusive ex-husband is beyond me. This story really makes you think twice in so many ways. It's not just covering the basis of differences in culture, religion, and finances, it goes much deeper than the initial new romance phase, which turned into an engagement, and then marriage. Even if for one second you think you'd end up with a perfect fairytale love story and things take a turn, now you're faced with what laws of that land/country stand against you or what is for you. Regardless if the relationship was pursued long-term or short-term, I can tell you firsthand, that narcissistic people have a physiological way of luring you in without you realizing it until you're in the thick of things. She not only faced discrimination from the police by the color of her skin to warrant the fact that her then-husband battered her first, but they favored protecting him instead in spite of it. I could not fathom this and I know many of you would agree if you were faced with the same. Her story is literally saving lives. Learn from other's experiences and take note of her testimony. I can relate to this because I was a victim of domestic abuse. And the same instinct she experienced of that first reaction of someone putting hands on you, and fearing for your life in that exact moment, is exactly what I went through. Please do not stay in it the first time it happens. Get out immediately, and find help to protect yourself by all means necessary. Otherwise, you will fall victim to a repeated cycle of being battered and you will find yourself stuck in becoming submissive to the abuser. Peace and love to you all.

"You can rise up, You can start all over again..." powerful statement of fact Lynn. May I appeal to all your fans, Lynn, especially ladies, to take this simple line seriously. Ladies, downfalls do not amount to failure but a learning experience. No one should define a journey to your destiny but you alone. Melissa, looking at your previous photos, and now, just like Lynn has affirmed you already, I also validate that. Guys, once you have become of age and can be in a position to make informed decisions for your life, go it, and as you navigate your life journey, be intentional in making conscious decisions. Life is never smooth sail. Having said that, be ready to experience both highs and lows. God has accorded you skills and capacity to surmount each hurdle you meet. However, how to apply them remains your prerogative. Lynn's shows are about experiences of others that are meant to help you and me learn how to avoid the mistakes they made. It's not mere stories to laugh and wait for the next episode. I leave you this simple guideline, be you, be real, and at all times practice self-care. Peace of mind is the best tip for healthy living. Melissa has spit snippets of wisdom that can make any serious woman think twice before engaging. Listen, process, and decide...."What does a 22-year-old know? " Melissa has cautioned you here. It's all about you and your life, ladies.

The most powerful thing that this young lady said is to call out or put to shame when you hear or see something is wrong weather its your blood family or not . When you say nothing you are part of the problem .don't be part of the problem but part of the solution.

Very clear and sobering interview right there. Mellisa is a great woman indeed. She doesn't look like what she's been through. I love the fact that she handled this interview with a lot of grace, honesty and good conscience. There was so much balance in the way she told her story and that tells me she's a great woman. She can be trusted. She didn't fall into the trap of anger, bitterness and resentment in spite of all she has been through. May God grant all her heart's desires in this journey and make her a billboard of His glory. Amen! To Lynn, you're doing a fantastic job dear. You allowed your guest to tell her story without unnecessary interjections and side journeys. Thank you for interpreting all the Kikuyu sections of Mel's interview. Keep up the good work!

I listened to a podcast and a lady Austrian had similar shocking story.Her husband was the type that couldn’t hurt a fly.one day her husband sent her to his laptop to retrieve a document and behind the document were other unnamed documents,and she opened one and photos of children naked started rolling.Yes,she called the police and the husband was arrested.

God bless this lady for not losing her composure, sanity and humanity in such a crisis situation AND for having that primal instinct to protect her children from what she had yet to understand. I've found myself vibrating with rage for far less. I am happy that her children are not shattered by that episode of their lives. Thank you for this episode Lynn.

I experienced a very similar story involving pedophilia--the perpetrator and his own minor child. He is now serving a life sentence without parole. Thank God for strong and brave women, who stand up to protect their children and other children. Melissa, you did well. I am sure you will inspire many with your beautifully narrated story. Please find it in your soul to pray for your ex-husband. This perversion is a trap of the devil to destroy lives and so many have been caught in this mess. The devil comes to steal, kill, and destroy, and he will do it however he can.

She was 22 and he knew that she wished for better for her life. Used the fact that he is Danish and desirable the whole package would look like to a young African woman looking for a better life and opportunities. And unfortunately this is how so many of our women become vulnerable to such people.

As a Jamaican, I was married to a White man and I too was mentally abused & otherwise. I think my ex-husband is into children too, but I don’t have sufficient proof because every time I got suspicious or seen him watching questionable pornography & I confronted him he rebel by saying that I should let God judge him.
@corajones5046 Жыл бұрын
This is such a rediculous response. “Let God judge him,” are you crazy. In the meantime this low life is hurting & destroying children. And, unless you report this snake to the police, you become an accessory to this horrible crime. Don’t be such a fool!!!!!

Thanks I’ve gotten her KZbin channel. She’s very inspiring for people that might be going through some sort of trauma in the abroad. Like she mentioned we got married to white men without really knowing much about their background and why they’re attracted to us. I thank God my story was different also I already schooled abroad before meeting my late husband in Africa. All the same I still had my own dose after getting married . My experience helped me sharpen myself quicker also the counselling I received also helped. His family too was very supportive and that was a great reliefs. He had alcohol issues but God gave me the strength to look after him and our child until his last breath. The outcome now that he is passed. I don’t even want any man to come near me. As far as I’m concerned I taken my own dose of something called marriage.

Mellisa I truly applaud you for your bravery girl this is on of the issues that are NEVER spoken about & they are happening right before our eyes especially in Africa we have normalized grown men admitting young little girls & no one says anything. Thanks for calling out that idiot at the market. Lyn this conversation is so needed & I think your platform is the most appropriate because we can’t ignore this issue anymore.. Mellisa you are very articulate & an admire that , what a great resource you are, all the best my dear in what you do to help other people who are going through what you have been through… Lyn I know you have really grown in the industry that you haven’t cried the way you used to. My husband is not Kenyan but he LOVES you & before he knew your name he used to say “ Honey let’s watch the lady that cries in her show more than the guest “ Lyn we love you, more power & keep doing the great work..
