I signed up for a year. I'm impressed with the preset filters. It does have some problems with guitar and piano. You currently can't separate them into 2 tracks. The song I tried had a lot of piano. I used that option and the piano isolated really well. That's where most of the chords were heard. A little guitar bled in but it wasn't a problem. Great App. It should get better over time.

As somebody who has been on KZbin since the early days of 2006, I’ve been waiting for something like this for a long time. One of the first communities I ever came across was the mashup/remix community. Back then, people were actively looking for instrumentals, acappella’s, etc as a means to use if in their mashup. When it came to the process of isolating these tracks, it would take hours (if not, days) in doing so. Now? Any song’s multitrack can be made in minutes. Like you, Fil, I was pretty sceptical about this app at first. I never buy apps or any premium feature subscriptions. But this was the first time I ever did so, because this is the app I’ve been dreaming for decades. The fact that this app is only been around for only a year and is still technically in it’s infancy, is insane. Imagine the results it will put out when they perfect it! As a bonus, it has probably the best chord reader I’ve come across yet! It makes learning songs so much quicker! Anyways, I rambled too much. Thank you for making this video!

Holy. Cow Fil ! The “apps within this app” are so powerful, I don’t think it could exist before now. With the AI, you can have the isolations, Key change, speed change, etc. Computational wise, don’t think we had the the power to do the separations. Hopefully, when I share this video, they can understand how this can Improve their singing and playing.

Wow this is really cool. I've been trying to figure out some easier way to learn some *quick* runs for an opera audition and apart from finding some piano to slowwwly try and play or messing around with midi files (eek neither of which I'm good at) this could be a nice thing to try. Also for karaoke because it's fun. Picking out harmony vocals seems awesome as well. My ear wants to always pick out the high harmony or melody, which shouldn't be a surprise from a piccolo player haha

@ChrisM5412 жыл бұрын
Extremely interesting app, thanks for the heads up. I've been playing since the '80's and tech savvy, so I'm always interested in how much tech is advancing. Will check this out. As well as enabling flexible and high quality music teaching, this app's 'other' use, if the end results are good enough, are as a vocal/instrument remover to create your own backing tracks to use at all those 1 man / 2 man (and above!) karaoke, gigs and functions. Being able to use the actual(!) backing track from the original song your covering is...game changing. Many existing backing tracks are 'a bit' crap, and, there are a huge number of songs with no backing track at all (you're limited, as always, by 'the catalogue'). 'Vocal remover' software has been around for many years (phase-cancellation trick and needs vocal at centre pan...where Bass etc lives!) but they pretty much mostly produced poor results, and in pseudo stereo, so no threat to Sunfly backing tracks etc. Same with pitch adjusters though they were of better practical use then - I used Sound Forge for years which came with its own pitch shift function, though I generally used a superior Waves or Melodyne plugin for that task. As will always be the case, pitch shifting has its hard limits - drums (particularly cymbals) and backing vox that you might want to keep, very quickly sound really bad (above around +/- 3 semitones, depending on material).

That's amazing. I liked the tempo of your song on allegro (much better). It helps you compose. Congratulations on your new sales job. If you believe in something a/product, you have no problem recommending it to others. A sellout is someone who doesn't believe in what they sell, and does so merely for profit (especially something they produce). I was amazed the first time I could conduct my personal banking online and look forward to the day when I can get myself a personal reader. I love to read, but sometimes it's hard to read something, via a book. Just an example of how my life is easier, due to technology. Technology is amazing- once you learn it all (I'm over 50, so I didn't grow up with even the cell phone.) I couldn't use it because I have no musical talent, but your endorsed APP will help so many people.

This is a brilliant app if you use backing tracks, (not just for this, but in regards something I'm familiar with- I'm sure there's far more it can do), BUT, when you attempt to alter the key, while some apps can do this? They NEVER came out sounding quite right. They all needed some kind of AI with enough intelligence, to change keys exactly. This sounds like it can actually do that now. While I have my own concerns with some AI out there, especially with what Google's been doing with actual, sentient A.I.? This is more of an improvement, not involved with the above. I do have one concern however: Does this app have some kind of copyright protection for YOUR/OUR original music- where they can NOT "store" or copy or SHARE any of the original music we put into their apps? Nice job with this Fil, and thx for any responses

I tried a piano track with the melody of Away in a Manger. Played from my sheet music. The App did really well except it reports D7 as D. Quite surprising because it's a stacked chord on the treble clef. It should have heard that C note in a piano track. Still, it's a great App that's still learning. You still need to use your own ears. Use the App as a guide. Has any found a way to change the filters without having to upload again and re-process?
@kymcha2 жыл бұрын
Let's just take "Sultans of Swing" as an example. Twenty years ago, I could listen to that song but had no hope of learning how to play it because the chords and/or notes just ran from one to the next way too fast. My guitar teacher wasn't in to Dire Straits at all but could listen to it and immediately play most of it. I used to say my teacher had "fast ears". Q. Are people born with different abilities to discriminate notes in fast runs or is it something else?
@superpete19612 ай бұрын
My only real disappointment in the app is that the option to separate backup vocals is only available in the 3 track mode. If I use this app to do a live solo performance, I can't remove lead guitar and lead vocals while keeping the backup vocals. Otherwise it's a very nice app. Also I'd like to try the hi-fi version before I have to pay for it, but a demo of that is not available.
@NickBR572 жыл бұрын
A question znswered I suspect. For a long time I wondered how you were separating vocals, so I downloaded snx tried it on Shoemaker. Excellent. Unfortunately it only exports in .mp3 or 4, not WAV so VPM won't load it and if I use a converter to change to .wav VPM says it needs to be .wav !!! It is! I paid for premium but that only saves mp3 as well... Nevertheless, interesting app, thanks for the info.

Couple questions, if there are 2 guitars and they are placed differently in the mix (right/left, whatever), does it separate them? Or by tone... How about multiple backing singers? Can it distinguish different voices? Sounds incredibly difficult to do, but worth asking anyway. :)
@wingsofpegasus2 жыл бұрын
Most likely in the future yes, as it's just figured out separating 2 voices. I know they are training it to recognise rhythm and lead guitar independently, it just has to learn the difference which takes time ☺

Hello again. I been away for a bit. I would like to make a guess. I heard about 5sec of your song "Greed" (loved what I heard!) and I would like to ask you: ever listen to Alice Cooper much? (Not meaning the vocals; those are personal and unique.) Alice has a certain…flavour, and I thought I caught a little taste of it in your instrumental bit. (Cool app btw!)

Put this app to the test with an old mono recording of a four-piece band. Drums and vocals separated clearly, which is good. I could virtually remove the guitar from the mix, which was good. Unfortunately that squashed the keyboards and diminished the bass guitar, which kinda sucks. Being that this is a subscription service, I hope they will work on the blurring of midrange instruments for future releases, or I will have to discontinue. Also, pitch should be adjustable in _cents_ , not just semitones. I also don't like the idea that you have to let the app and Google spy on you in order to sign up (which they do anyway). It's a great idea but needs improvement. Usable but not optimal. Back to the drawing board.

I am comparing this to the standard learning app The Amazing Slow Downer. Amazing Slow Downer app cannot do all of the functions here. But it seems Moises is missing two key elements The Amazing Downer has: 1. Integrated with iTunes. When you want to import a song, it takes you right into iTunes to import it directly without looking for song files 2. The ability to loop a particular section, name the loop (ie Solo lick 1) and store the loop. I am also a little uncomfortable that you selected your own song where modern recording techniques used may have made separation more clearly. How does it do with separating classic songs recorded in the 60's and 70's?
