I worked at Kay-Bee in 1990. I remember when that cartridge came out how impossible it was to keep in stock. We kept an actual waiting list, on paper and everything, with names and phone numbers. However, being an employee had its advantages and I wound up snagging one of the first copies. I couldn't say whether it was the error version, but chances are it was, just by the time frame. It may still be at my mom's house. I'll have to look for that one next time I visit.

...and theres me being upset about havin to sell my entire collection in 2013 because life dictated such hardships - at a well bellow market value; when i had such rare games such as say keio flying squadron on the mega cd, along with demo disc worth over 500 notes in its own right, when i sold the entire collection for less! (Granted my collection wasnt mint, it was well loved and certainly done many many maannyyy miles! - most cd consoles were very temprimental as example....) - it really hurts a lot more of late as i just lost my dad recently, who was the one who probably bought about 94% of my collection as a kid.... But yeah, if I owned a time machine delorean, then of course I would of explained the value of my collection despite the desperation and urgent sale needed due to me losing my job and rent needed etc etc I guess I am very thankful for emulation because I own my entire collection on my phone now today...! Plus arcades I could only dream of having, with an 8bitdo mini controller hanging off my car interior mirror, Bluetooth as my sound system:- yea its a nice cosy gaming area in my car at least... Imagine telling 14 year old me i would have owned 2000 games, half of them the ACTUAL arcade on a small device known as a "smart phone" all downloaded from "thin air" (wifi) and basically for free... i would of thought you were havin a weird joke with me! - Much love my guy and i am really hurting with my dad who recently departed, however, where i failed in life with money and career, other than a very good strong 20 year+ marriage, i will now be set up for life thanks to his hard work and career success.... Dad never ever let me down and went far beyond his call of duty.... I hope dad, that i handle everything you left to me correctly and not fail you like i did in my adolescents.... Life hurts sometimes but games really are my closest link to my dad...

the fact your family is recording your gameplay footage back then is pretty epic..

I obsessed over this game as a kid too, I got a left bros for Christmas, was the best feeling playing this as a kid, I still have it.

I grew up with Super Mario Advanced 4 version but I am in love with the NES version. Today at 28 years old I feel the full excitement you guys must have felt in 1990. I am playing it even more than Super Mario Bros Wonder.

Way to go Aunt Michelle! Tyler you were truly blessed. I was blessed also to have a amazing grandmother who spoiled the heck out of me with awesome video games.
