I've only had the zif connector and the rail causing a problem with the joycon rail. I've never replaced a component to get the joycon docking. what I would say is maybe take the power from the other joycon rail, using a jumper. and potentially you can get the both working. that cap which was shorted shows up in alot of places. it shorts if you have a problem with the audio IC. (but the switch will still power) just throw a error code when playing certain music. irrc it was the third pin on the bottom right of the alc chip great deal btw, and keep up the good work

Hi Phil - I was hoping for a better resolution at the end..but there’s still time. :-) In one of your earlier videos from over a year ago, over near the backlight ribbon there is a diode that was on some board revisions that when removed allowed the joycons to be detected and charge again. I had a switch with this issue and removed that diode and it fixed my issue. I didn’t bother putting it back, since as mentioned it’s not on other board revisions. Just curious if this might fix this one.

Hi, I live in Nintendo Switch home country. I feel that the flexible cable on the board side is not pierced shallowly, it seems to enter until the last bulge is attached. It seems to move when it moves even if it is shallow. Looking at the test data bolts, it looks fine.

Hey Phil, when you were taking off the capacitor at about 9mins you were talking about using the heat gun from under to prevent melting plastic. Could you have alternatively used the heat resistant tape over those clips?
@isaaccollazo6252 жыл бұрын
I've seen other people do it this way. I suppose it's a matter of preference and what you have on hand although I'd imagine you have to be very thorough with the tape to make sure you don't leave any gaps that'll allow air in and melt the plastic.

it's very fragile the LCD on the lite to swap backlight only. if it's just the cable then you can do a trace repair. if the backlight is water damaged it's quite tricky to do without breaking the lcd. possible but tricky.
