It is October! That means, Milkyway season is almost over and we can head into the autumn/winter target list.
Check out my astrophotography sessions covering targets I captured over the last two months after my La Palma trip and how I almost left my poor telescope standing in the rain :/

If you ever go to the US, fly to Phoenix or Tuscon (in Arizona).. The stars here are incredible. Most of where i live is a dry desert, high altitude, and Bortles 1, with almost no clouds. It would be a perfect trip for your GT 71. There's a reason we have so many scientific telescopes here.

I 100% believe you, definetely sounds like perfect conditions for stargazing + imaging. I was once in the U.S. in 2013 for a roadtrip (CA, AZ, UT, NV) and I really enjoyed the nationalparks, love the desert and canyon areas 😁 Was not so much into this hobby at that time unfortunately 😄 Btw I already expected you to be from Arizona, clever channel name 👍🏻

Great video. I have been caught out twice with rain on my scope, once when it actually bucketed down...... but everything survived as well but it threw me into a panic I have to admit. Great images all of them but if I had to choose, I liked the first Cygnus Wall the best. Clear skies

Wow, that sounds like a panic situation, but I'm glad that nothing got damaged! Thank you! :)

I like your video, good job, NGC 7000 is one of my favorites too. I shoot it every year and add to my data. I shoot it in OSC and desaturate it and print it in B&W, its on my office wall and it always gets compliments, and comments like "is that really what is looks like up there" lol, don't you love it. Hi Steve! Thank you, its always nice to see you pop up in the comments :) Thats actually quite cool, "bringing space down to earth" for others to see when you hang these pictures up ✨ We have to spread the love for outer space :D Cheers!

I must admit I usually stay up when I'm imaging however one night I'd started taking subs & the weather forecast was telling me clear all night & no rain, I were sat in the observatory fortunately & this one single cloud came over & started to dump a load of rain down, I quickly shut everything down only to find the cloud had moved on & the skies were clear, the kit only got slightly wet so no damage was done but it was scary at the time for sure.

Oh, surely sounds like a situation where your heart skips a beat! Normally I try to image only when there a multiple consecutive nights with good weather and no clouds, just to be sure. But as you said, these single clouds might bring surprises with them. Glad everything went well on your side, too!
