It's the unfortunate part of any deal...... Paying for it 😂 I thought the same thing about weight when I got mine, I layed it down and picked it up, have your back to the bike, one hand on handlebar and the other on the frame at the rear somewhere, place the bottom of your back against the seat and just push up with your legs! I tell you, the weight is all low centre of gravity on these things it really doesn't feel near 200kgs!! I think alot of weight is in the wheels being steel! Give it a go! Just look after your back on pickups 👍

That seems to be everyone’s biggest complaint about speed, yet they don’t own one. That doesn’t change a thing about its lack of power. But that’s only compared to the competition, and to be honest, in my opinion there is no other bike in this class that compares to the Himalayan.

I really like the Himalayan but there are a few things that could easily be done to improve it. 1st get a proper skid plate, that one is tissue paper. 2nd open up the breathing, air filter and exhaust (pipe as well). 3rd Remap it to give it more fuel, it will run cooler. Bonus to 2 and 3 is you will get more power out of it and not lose any down low grunt.
@arunvignesh70153 жыл бұрын
Tec parts cam shaft looks promising instead of having to retune the bike. The cam shaft along with open filter and exhaust, RK chains with 16T sproket set should make just about enough difference instead of getting into retuning I think. And if you intend to go a little crazy, maybe aluminium wheels, official touring handlebars, mirrors should make even more difference to this tractor at higher rev ranges. Also the TEC guy suggested some pretty cool ideas to get more cold air into the engine along with changing value clearances which are set for very hot conditions. Seems reasonable for the output it gets. Traditionally Royal Enfield over engineers their engines, Himalayan seems exceptionally over engineered interms of ruggedness, like if weight saving was in the mind I'm pretty sure they would have made a plastic tank for it which they didn't..I think the fuel ratio is restricted intentionally to meet the emissions and just opening the bike up to the original intended design just makes this a perfect bike.

yup... has a choke... I think we're behind India - it doesn't have the tripper either - which looks cool!
@gullyfoyle-uf6fr3 жыл бұрын
It's not a choke, but it does the same thing for fuel injection - it's a "bifurcator". I still call it a choke, 'cause bifurcator sounds a bit silly! It closes the throttle body. I rarely us it on my bullet 500 - except when it's cold.
@mattyb77363 жыл бұрын
@@gullyfoyle-uf6fr it actually opens and air bleed bypass fooling the system into adding more fuel when cold. Unfortunately this is a 2020 Himalayan not the 2021 model. Enfield reserves the new model for India and UK markets and dumps the old model in US and other markets. 2021 has no 'choke', navigation, new racks front and rear, new side stand, new screen, improved fueling, Just imagine if Honda or Kawasaki launched a new model, but continued to supply the old model in US, but claimed it's the 2021??

What India gets is is the latest and greatest, Europe has just got the latest Euro V ones with Tripper, rest of world won't see those until late 2021 or early 2022 and probably still as Euro 4 spec emissions. Mine has the BS4 throttle body, but with a few of the BS6 wiring updates like hazard lights, 40W flasher relay, 50 tooth front ABS tone wheel (48 on the BS4) etc. Subtle differences depending on the market.
