as someone who hasn't played any Far Cry game, but has definitely seen retrospectives and reviews including them, I had no clue Hoyt existed. Vaas is one of the most recognisable villains of the past 20 years, he's on the cover of the game, hes super prominent in the trailers and he just dies halfway through the game... i somehow thought the final decision was "kill your friends to stay on the island and kill vass" or "save your friends and escape" one choice being revenge and power but lose your sanity and the other just being about keeping your sanity at the price of Vaas still running the island and not getting revenge... but theres a whole other island and a whole other dude

It's wild isn't it! I always forget about Hoyt when I revisit this game and it's clear Ubisoft didn't really know what they had with Michael Mando and Vaas here in Far Cry 3 because even when he's the primary villain he's barely in the game!

Hey man! One of my favorites, and one of my first platinums😍 loved it so much, I did it twice. Congrats with the plat! Ps: I read somewhere the script had already been made, but they let Michael Mando do auditions because he was so promising (dúh). Hope that helps with the frustration why we didn’t see him for longer😂

Technically speaking, Vass is the reason the MC and his friends are in that situation in the 1st place, so *he is* the main villain, he just happened to die first, like Mayor said, an Ubisoft L Maybe the other villain only exists so the would be longer to beat, because there's really no reason for him to exist
