i agree with you, but it’s pretty hard to make a good story when the main character is a custom one. unless they go all out and voice act many different voices, there’s always gonna be a disconnect between the main character and the people around them. although, some games have been able to do it before and well at that, baldurs gate 3 comes to mind

Few modern games even come close to the levels of passion put into those games, and it shows. The Music direction alone is stunning. This game is absolutely shaping up to be at least a near classic. A bit of cringey voice acting aside - it's at worst looking like a very solid game that acts as a true sequel to Fallen order that the disappointing Jedi Survivor could not deliver with it's invisible walled off sections and linear gameplay. Not knocking the character or anything, but I really feel like they missed an opportunity here to allow the players to choose a race/background/etc and fully customize/name their own character. I do realize Lucasfilm love their character narratives, and they do hit big sometimes with fans (lookin' at you, Cal Kestis), but I just think this is the type of game where you don't go that route, and instead give more a more personable experience to the player. Players love freedom and customization, in all things.

This game looks amazing and decently fun but I feel they could have done so much more. Like being able to make your own smuggler or change your appearance/outfit/weapon (then again I don't know if that is already in the game or not). I don't mind the main character, I don't know anything about her besides what we've seen in trailers but it would be amazing to make your own character. You can keep it limited to humans but something like mass effect or the fallout games would have been fine. The game looks like it will be good , there's wasted potential here that hurts it a little for me

The problem with these Ubisoft games comes down to the predatory pricing (pay to get stuff we already made, and not earn it in game), bloated content with too much boring stuff (meaningless fetch quests), and its going to be filled with bugs and glitches (Ubisoft staple). It's best to wait a year, and get the ultimate edition at 29.99 after its been fixed and you get all the stuff at a way lower price.

This game has some glaring flaws like not being able to create your own character but as long as it's immersive and you feel like you're a part of the Star Wars universe, I think the perception will change. It's similar to something like Uncharted, where the main character is Nathan Drake, or Tomb Raider, where the main character is Lara Croft. You are playing the game from her perspective. Did you complain about those games not having customizable characters as well? I don't mean to come off as a dick or anything, but I just think you want an entirely different game than what is being presented here, which is fine, but a little unfair to what this game is at it's core. I'm sure if this is successful there will be many more open world Star Wars games, and you will get your wish. Fingers crossed. Also, maybe they will make DLC story content where you get to play as other characters. We'll find out.

@@Dartanyoogles I never played those games. I get what you’re saying dude, you’re clearly not hearing me out. I understand what this game and the ones you listed are. What I’m saying is, that’s the mistake. The mistake is going the route of such a contained story to begin with that we are forced to limit features players obviously wanted to have. I don’t think it’s wrong to assume people would want to customize their own roleplay character in a Star Wars sandbox like this, I think it’s expected. And if you don’t agree, then to each their own brother. You don’t have to be so damn condescending on a pro-Outlaw-cautiously optimistic-yet still excited for the game-kind of comment. We’re clearly on the same side, with some differences of opinion. Calm down and have a good day.

The Way the Empire is present everywhere and the stealth aspect will a welcome refreshing nostalgic experience for a Ghost Recon: Wildlands veteran like me I think 😂
