Hey Winston, you are doing good, he is a 5.0 player. And I think still the key factor for you to reach 5.0 is the Serve, his Serve is way more solid, other things you guys are actually very closed.

Winston definitely has improved, but the kid has way better strokes too. He had a shit ton of unforced errors but that’s probably due to an off day. There’s still a sizeable gap between the 2.

Because “Serve and Return is the key of differentiating different level.” Karue said that last time in the video. Return might be hard and tricky to improve, but Serve is definitely more straightforward way to level up.

I hope this video gives you way more confidence on the court man! This was awesome to see. I think it’s the best tennis we’ve seen you play. Obvious you have been trying to implement some serve changes. You are getting the timing and motion transfer up into the serve much more frequently. You can hear the difference in the sound. I actually expected you to double fault more with how drastic the changes felt. But it seemed like you were able to implement it just the right amount and not worry about it falling apart. Tactically I think he was struggling with your depth and you were struggling with being moved. But felt like he didn’t really want to take any pace off to be a bit more accurate. So it was this interesting intense back and forth. I think you guys should play each other more often. This is one of those matchups I feel like you would both learn a ton from.

Love the point construction at 13:27, I thought you let him off the hook a couple times but you ended up with a good forehand winner in the end. That was a nice stretch in the middle of the match where you were really setting up your shots well, very impressive.

Payton's game's solid. Especially the service motion. Still needs to pick and choose the right moment to come in for the volley. Also, Payton needs to play the working ground strokes more and aim to move the opponent rather than going for the kill too early. He'll figure that out soon enough. Winston, this has been the most consistent you've been on the vids. Your patience paid off during the match. I'm still waiting for an opportunity to hit with you though. I hope I get the chance before I get too old.

Winston, you played good in this match! Your serve was better than usual (which is your weakness), and your ground strokes were even better then usual. You didnt make very many unforced errors either. Nice play! But dont let those close ones slip away.

Well played Winston. You were very close to winning. Massive improvement on your game. You should continue to work on improving your serve which would bring you to the next level. Your shot selection is generally good but I think you should come to the net more often. You had plenty of shots with very good length that pushed Payton far behind the baseline. You could have finished them with easy volleys but instead you stayed back and allowed Payton to stay in the rally.

Great match, seemed like both players did best when they were more in the grindset rather than going for big shots randomly rather than selectively. Really good serving from Payton, and I love the new backhand Winston, looks like you and Ruud have made some real strides in that shot recently.

Looks like Payton’s last tournament was a Men’s Open and beat a 8.8 (0&0) and had a competitive match against a 11+ college D1 starter. So you played well against Payton. 🎉

Nice playing! The return at 4-4 when winston broke was out! You can freeze the frame there and it was out. Fair enought to keep plauing if in doubt, though. Now, the 40-0 and triple match point lost... That is the one the hunts you.

Hey Winston entertaining match your young opponent has lots of potential he has good form and technique if I could offer advice I'd tell him to be more compact and to lower his preparation on his forehand that's why he was late and hitting the ball into the net, the rest of game looks good....as far as winston goes he improved immensely beautiful ground strokes just need to work on volleys and overheads

It looks like you had to deal with nerves until @ 1-4, glad you were able to relax. Btw, be mindful of your serve returns; they were consistently near the T at the service line which sets you up for a disadvantage

Winston, the gap between your BH and FH has really closed. I wonder if you should not fade to your left so much as the BH weakness has turned into a solid stroke and not giving up your deuce side opening could be a good thing for you. I think Payton could benefit from maybe taking some off his FH when he’s pulled out wide. A lot of unforced errors on his side maybe trying to do too much when a simple high crosscourt shot would do just fine. All in all super match - lots of fun to watch!

This match was kind of a roller coaster. Winston couldn’t buy a first serve like Kyrgios and played like a 3.5 in the beginning. Then he went god mode and played like a 5.0. Then choke city. Fun match!

Winston, I could see that your ball toss was way too in front when you serve for the match. Dunno if it's the nerve or the your tendency when rushing things. (the point at 40-30 you actually foot-faulted with a far in front ball toss. Also the DF you hit was another error due to a too far in front ball toss for kick 2nd serve)

I literally was playing a 9.4 high schooler the other day, and he was literally better across the board than Payton. No offense to Payton. I don’t think UTR is as trustworthy as they say it is. At the end of day college coaches will trust what they see on film.
