Loved the video. Had a little bit of everything! 1) Humor (I don't know what was funnier, your nervousness at the beginning playing Ethan or the reaction by the other players listening to your nervousness) and the unintentional of course, mic mishap, 2) intense game - I won't spoil but knew was intense as video was more about the chess than banter during playing and 3) ultimate sportsmanship and class by you (makes me admire Anna even more) by politely reminding Ethan to touch his clock after he moved, you playing touch move when you saw that you could have taken his rook after touching your pawn and decreasing a your clock time a bit after the mic oops! To achieve a GM norm, one must beat 14 GM's, both at home and overseas. So, when Ethan said that it would take him a long time to become a GM, that was an accurate assessment.

I think he’ll get it by 2031ish. So incredibly strong for his age.
@Shoreditch4 күн бұрын
Beating just 3 GM's is enough to achieve a GM norm. The FIDE Title Regulations, in brief, state you must play a 9 round classical tournament where half of your opponents are titled players and at least 3 of them are GM's, you also need to finish the tournament with a performance rating greater than 2600. After achieving three GM norms if your standard rating is 2500 or more you can apply to FIDE for the GM title.
