Casuals don't get it. That's why alot of new SxSHG players don't like gens as much as shadow gens. Top speed boost is easier to maintain with smoothed out controls. Sonic Gens and unleashed boost style is too difficult for casuals.

@@coolcharles45 As a long time sonic fan that loves Unleashed, Gens, and SxS Gens I honestly prefer the way Shadow Gens is designed. There are fully 3D stages, the doom powers are integrated very well and are the best gimmicks of all the boost games, and the white space is so much better than Sonic Gens being a sonic frontiers style open zone.

@therealtt I agree mostly. I almost wish there was 2 gears to sonic. People have often compared boost sonic to a car which makes sense. So make bro be able to switch gears, gear 1 could be shadow gens control, gear 2 Sonic gens control. Or the old boost could be a temporary power up for certain sections like a chaos control capsule or rocket boost from frontiers. That way you can have more open levels and sections of quickstep and drift.

The reason you didn’t get mania much was because classic sonic isn’t about going at top speed, it’s about memorising levels in order to find the fastest path even if it’s harder to stay on. Just making that clear and good video

The reason Sonic uses a car is the same reason he used a hover board in the earlier games. He's competitive. If everyone was on foot, it'd be completely one-sided. Thus he'll happily handicap himself for fairness.

1 lil correction: the shadow costume in sonic forces is NOT new, it's been there as free DLC since 2017. I doubt they'd market for the new movie by....going back to THAT game :P awesome video as always!!

For USA maybe, for europe it was a preoreer exclusive ans it still, to this day, impossible to get on console or pc. And I managed to get it after the game release throught steamDB but apparently it got fixed. Apparently the dlc is available for 110 yen on Japanese Eshop

Unpopular opinion: Sonic Forces is underrated. It's not a great game as it's pretty short and linear, but it was fun while it lasted. The character customizer was really neat too, and the soundtrack was a banger. That being said, I wouldn't buy it for more than $20, as again, it's really short and I was able to beat it in one sitting.

I think its great to see same games on the Switch. In the 7th generation era, which Sonic games you could play depended on your console. If you only had one console (like I did growing up) you either got Secret Rings, Black Knight, Colors, or you got 06 and Generations. And Unleashed would be different games with the same core concept. We didnt see this in the 8th generation because of the Nintendo exclusively deal, and now we're finally in an era for Sonic fans where if you only have one console, you're not missing out (except the Olympics). Sure, they run at a lower frame rate, but they're portable, and at the end of the day, still fun ways to play

If you knew how to play the game, you would enjoy the 2D as much as the 3D. Sonic Team Racing: nothing much here, another tame take. If you're going to put it in A, put Mania there with it! Sonic Origins: perfectly fine collection. Price is crazy, but the game itself does a fine job. Sonic X Shadow Generations: another skill issue, you genuinely suck at boost games (no hate though). I know you said the game was good, but the gameplay was miserable. You also left out a lot of it, then again, it's one of many, so I don't blame you. Ngl this video made me mad salty, but mostly because I disagree with a lot of the takes. To me it seems like you aren't completely aware of the scene of 2020s Sonic. I don't expect you to though, so I won't hold it against you. The video's good anyways, I'll stick around for more. 👍🏾

I actually like Team Sonic Racing and Sonic Forces. Also, Sonic needs a car, what if he wants to rest his legs every now and then? I also enjoyed Sonic Colors: Ultimate on the PS5. Because I’ve never played the original release, like Sonic X Shadow Generations. Also, it had movie content through the deluxe edition. It had the movie boost and aura, and Movie Sonic avatars. Sonic is a series you kinda have to spend time with and really learn the movement. The first playthrough is most likely gonna be rough but the 2nd and 3rd playthroughs get faster and faster. That's pretty much the point, to learn how to get through it faster.
