There really isn't enough content where people break down a game like this in not a 2hr just display of a game. I only recently discovered this channel and thought you were more of a "paint guy" so i was suprised when you started laying down some really insightful commentary! Really appreciate the pictures with a breakdown of the thought process and what you would have done differently as well as the potentially optimal plays from both sides of the matchup.

22:00 you’ve mentioned it elsewhere so just wanted to say i’d be interested in a zbrush vid-i could see something quick and simple, like 2Dish metal plates to orkify vehicles, having wide appeal. Either way, thanks for getting me excited about 40k and making art 🤘🏼

Man new codex looks like so much fun. I have like....70% of a runnable army for 3 or 4 detachments but nothing quite perfect for any of them! My fault for diversifying my ork range I guess. There's always 1.5k games!

There’s also always war horde! War horde is still very good, everyone’s just excited about the new ones but that’s still my pick for anyone who has a kind of well rounded army and doesn’t want a warboss in every unit for bully boyz.

I am pretty sure the grots in the truck avoiding battleshock does not work. If you look at the repositioned units rule on the 40k app, it says that units under half strength battleshock when they are set back up if they were not on the battlefield during the battleshock step

Yeah started looking into this earlier, you might be right. I can’t find anything that states if disembarking counts as a repositioned unit or not and raw it feels sort of ambiguous to me but that was probably their intention with this designer commentary

@@billiondollarclownfarm I figured that going in and out of a transport counts because at the top of the repositioned units rule it just states that any unit that is removed from the battlefield and set back up counts as a repositioned units and technically getting in and out of a transport removes a unit and sets it back up

How do you recommend we think about using the 20 man boyz squad? I’ve played 2 games with 2 5 man and a 10 man nob, the 20 man boys seems really interesting though!

They’re a tar pit that (thanks to makari and their warboss/power klaw nob) can still reasonably kill a lot of targets. They’re harder to kill than 10 nobz imo (mostly because there’s a ton of damage 2 weapons out there right now, 20 models is worth more than 10 with 2 wounds, even with the -1 to be wounded from nobz), they’re cheaper than 10 nobz, and their ability to flip objectives and screen is also great. I generally try to use them as a road block that requires more commitment to remove than 5-10 nobz, or B. try to get them on to my opponents home objective (even having a few guys on there is enough to flip it in some games) to keep their primary low. It’s also nice just to have different tools in a list, like the rest of this army isn’t great into ctan shards but 20 boyz with lethal hits can do way more damage to a night bringer or void dragon (especially with his big base) than nobz can. Hope this helps!

Amazing breakdown! Did you feel like the Tellyporta enhancement is a trap vs putting the Meganobz in a Trukk for a frontal assault? What do you think of adding a Painboy to the 20x boyz?

I think tellyporta is good but tbh I just like trukks more, Im gonna try it at some point but having trukks for actions always feels so good. Orks aren’t great at clearing screens so I feel like there’s probably some matchups where there’s no where they really want to rapid ingress. It’s definitely a good enhancement, I’ll try it at some point, but on paper it doesn’t feel as mandatory or hype to me as people are making it out to be. Painboy I’m mixed on, there’s a lot of d2 out there. I think he’s situationally fine but I’d rather not put more points into characters. I’d consider a weirdboy for jumping sticky boyz around the board , they’re insane in green tide, but sort of take it or leave it in bully boyz.

Why not pick the Big Mek in Mega armour over the Warboss? Bringing back 2 Meganonbz with a 4 up FNP (plus a once per game heal) feel very strong.

1. The +1 to hit from the mega warboss is great, hitting on 4s (especially without sustained hits) makes them wildly inconsistent and without him they’re not really a damage unit you can rely on 2. Whenever I’ve used him previously I feel like he realistically only brings back 1-2 per game, which is less than his own points cost. The invuln against ranged is okay, but you’re saying on 4s most of the time anyways with 2+/cover against ap3, and against ap 2 it’s obviously the same. Ap 4+ is pretty rare in 10th. That said, I plan on playing a couple games with him in this detachment just to try it, but tbh I’m not optimistic. I can see a world where you go full tank with 3 but I’d change the list around it to probably also have like 3x20 boyz and go full durability board control instead of trying to end the game in 3 turns.

@@Grintendothere is! It helps him out a lot, and it’s one of the reasons I feel like he’s a lot better in here (in addition to the fnp obviously). But yeah as you said cp is cp, and I don’t like that I basically have to use the strat to rely on them for combat damage. I think the kff big mek isn’t bad and I could be wrong too, but gut instinct still says double warboss is probably better most games. I can see taking one unit with a kff as a hedged bet in case you run into something you can’t just table and need to play the late game into also, but yeah he’s currently sort of expensive for what he does to me.

Grey knights hate battlewagons, they suck at dealing with thick transports. Teleporting away every time they move within 9” of you is annoying but sometimes they can struggle to deal with too many small targets and usually have not that many units. It’s sort of a weird matchup that’s hard to explain without a lot of detail but high ap stuff is great into them obviously too since they can reduce your ap by -1 (only with one unit but still). Killsaws on meganobz in bully boyz feels great into them
