Just remember you stood up there and did it and faced down the challenge - screw the negative knobs - well done

Out of all the KZbin golfers I expected Finchy to post the lowest score but he shot 12 over which just goes to show how hard and fickle the game is. You have a wonderful memory of a hole in one and so does that 12 year old lad who watched you do it. For every T*at who wants to start an online argument and troll negative comments there are endless more people who love the game and love what you do Matt. Keep it up!

You've become my fave golf youtuber Matt. Quirky & comedic. It's a buzz for all us seeing you competing so stuff the energy stealing naysayers. Life's a battle and you wait for the wee nice moments of joy or excitement. Open qualifying is these in giant proportions. You've got a great loose swing and your a great short putter. Weve all got weaknesses and to my eye you probaly could do with some more work on focus. Amazing your pal scoring the best at all these games but I'd say the reason he said darts is kos it's less mechanical and smaller target.

The precise things that make YT golf great (e.g., intimacy, curation, personality) seem destructive for tournament play. I have no doubts that Matt and Finch are really good players...but they're likely to always be YTers. All this makes what Wes Bryan is doing more impressive. But he was a tour player--and an accomplished one--before taking on YT. Love u, Matt...keep doing what u do.

Considering how tough the course looked to be playing on the day and with the pressure I think you did really well. The lad who won shot 65 and also had a hole in one. David Hague from Malton and Norton. Must of played like a god. We followed Charlie Thornton from Fulford who played well but missed a couple of short putts. He shot -4 and was very impressive for a hacker like me. Total respect for all who entered. It was intimidating just seeing some of the holes and pin placements. Going forward put yourself under pressure, see how you react. Play some comps.

Great effort. Can’t imagine playing golf under pressure, it’s hard enough in just a two ball when no one’s watching. I saw Carter got his video out straight away. Seems like a good way to have some catharsis and move on.

Huge respect for anyone who puts themselves out there. You have the game , possibly need to schedule some comps for next year's prep a bit like Andy Carter. Thanks for showing how real golf can be . A question for you, i am left handed but i play golf right handed as it feels more comfortable. What are the pros and cons of this? Is it bad to have my main hand "pulling" the club rather than "pushing" it?

All things consider not a bad score at all. Also well done getting a hole in one, especially in Open Championship qualifying. When people ask you in the future how many holes in one you’ve had, you’ll be able to say that you got one in open qualifying. As for the critics, it’s hard to give them any credence as anybody who has played the game knows how hard it is. As Tom said Nelly Korda from 69 to 81, is she now a terrible golfer I think not. Keep up the good work.

About more comp... Why dont you tag along with Pete (maybe get Carter and Rick into it aswell?) on hes quest to the open tour and try to make that a tour-serie that both makes some good videos and also get you guys ready for qualifying..?

You put yourself above the parapet & gave it a go, rightly so. I get the feelng that the trolls are getting to you a bit but just ignore the sad little tw@ts. Your content is unique, broad & highly entertaining. It seems you're at a crossroads as to where to take the channel, I fully understand that's a complex decision for business & personal reasons & whichever route you take I'm sure you'll be successful, but on a purely selfish note I hope it doesn't change much.

Why do people get so upset about the occasional negative comment? 99% of the comments are really supportive and from the remaining 1% I've never ever seen anything that I would call offensive. KZbin golfers must have massive egos if they all get upset because someone has been slightly critical in the comments section. Well done with the hole in one though, even better because it was in a competition.

Well done Matt for entering, getting out there and trying your best. I know it's part of your job, or someone on your team; but reading youtube comments from subterranean troglodytes will wear you down. In hundreds of years time, moderating KZbin comments will be seen as a form of punishment, reserved for Ai and criminals on parole, community service and death row.
