The music is mostly from the mystery dungeon games, if you haven't played them, catch up on them, trust me, they're less known spinoffs gems with a dungeon crawler type of gameplay, similar to Crypt of the Necrodancer movement. A few tips in general: Luck, which influences the rarity of the items you get everytime is raised by how many shinies you have, there are 3 levels of shiny, each with the value of 1-2-3 respectively, you can either catch them or use the shiny gatcha. Pokèmons you use often get candies by just playing, candies can be used to unlock hidden moves and reducing their cost in the team during the selection screen. There's a toggle in the options, not really life-changing, but you can toggle to see the weaknesses of each pokèmon and how the moves are effective in the options menu. General tip for each run, try to get a pokèmon with the pickup ability, most i found are zigzagoons, they are able to pickup items from defeated pokèmon and take it for themselves, you can later transfer them. Last tip, you can open the menu in battle, giving you the chance to use the gatcha and also save the run and pickup at any time in the future, which can also be used like save-scumming, so use if you want, by reloading the page during any fight.

You can stack Type specific boosting items like twisted spoon, black glasses, etc. Also highly recommend turning on animations on the settings to mixed so later gen mons get animated sprites. Also luck increases with shiny pokemon. In this game theres 3 tiers of shiny pokemon

I've actually been recommended a number of KZbin channels that are/have played Pokerogue, and I gotta say, KZbin has been pretty on point with the kind of content creator I enjoy watching. One guy I watch recently started to play it too. His channel is 360Chrism. He's more of a Twitch streamer, but even so, he makes some long form content on KZbin, plus he's generally pretty good at Pokemon (he speedruns). Zwiggo is another good one to check out, been following that guy for some time now. Good stuff! But anyway, if you keep watching Pokerogue content on YT, more channels will come up, I'm sure. Give them a go, especially the less popular ones!

Getting a master ball after floor 195 is PAIN. You can catch those Paradox pokemon only after you've hatched them from an egg first. To catch an Eternatus you need to collect EVERY SINGLE STARTER in the entire game

Held items stack. You can have up to 99 of the same type boosting item, and you can have an infinite amount of different held items. More OP ones like King's Rock or Multi Lens have a much lower limit but can still be stacked for added effects. Luck is increased by having shinies on the team, which cause better item luck and rare pokemon to spawn more often.

Pickup is SUCH A CRAZY GOOD ABILITY! It picks up all unused berries from your opponent after every match and you one shot a lot. It can fill almost your whole team by level 200 with max of all berries. The Greavard you opened at 17:12 is going to be crazy next run.

While I too love Legendaries, the Shinies are what you really want in this game. Mythy, if you play again, keep the following in mind... Shiny Pokemon MATTER in this game. There's shinies, rare shinies and epic shinies, and each level increases your luck (which means better chance at better items and other stuff I can't remember) and they stack. Getting a full team of shinies means you'll be getting good items a lot more often.

You increase luck by using shinies, and those shinies have a luck index of their own. When you use a shiny with a higher shiny index your luck increases more

If you have beat PokéRogue, I highly reccomend you try Pokémon Emerald Rogue 2.0. It is like PokéRogue, but it has more elements of traditional a Pokémon game (eg. you still go on routes to catch pokémon, but the routes are randomised and have certain pokémon on them). The game got updated recently for more quality of life things and more different encounters/events :)

if you press m in the main menu you can use your egg vouchers at the egg gacha and get legendaries and shinies, shinies improve your lucky

You probably will know by the time you read this, Minkyman, but those "weird" variants of Pokemon that you couldn't catch near the end of your run are "Paradox Pokemon" (introduced in Scarlet/Violet).

@@Driolo95 Hey mate, I can answer that. You can't catch them unless you've hatched one already (You MIGHT be able to catch them with a master ball). For example, Mythy hatched a Flutter Mane, so he can now catch it when it appears in Classic mode.
