I Played The Next Valheim... Enshrouded

Basicaly the whole comentary is about the moderator comparising this game to Valheim while nonstop emphasizing how he likes the removal of all grinding mechanics the Valheim had, so the game is appranet build more into arcadic style of play instead if immersive survival. Based on his summary this is the game for those who like survival with cheap / simple survival mechanics that does not require much devotion, just arcadic approach.

So it's essentially a Valhiem that takes a beefy PC to run and includes all of the Valhiem mods that break the game's difficulty. Also a handcrafted world is great and all, and definitely makes the game a bit more visually interesting and allows for more details, but it also takes away from replayability. Maybe I'm alone in this, but very rarely do I ever want to visit the same location more than once. With all of that being said, I believe this game will more than likely release, get attention, and slowly fade away into moderate obscurity. A bit sad, because it does look like a great deal of effort has gone into it.

At least in relation to that last statement, the same can be said for Valheim. It hasn’t had a fraction of the player base it once had for a long time now and common sentiment in the community is definitely growing impatient at this point waiting for ashlands, leading to a further decline in the already small community of players.

Hopefully they can iron out the performance and introduce a framerate limiter. Going from high to ultra costs 20fps for me, it's pretty crazy since it doesn't look all that much better

I randomly downloaded the demo but the minimum requirements are crazyyy. I've never even seen even a AAA game have such absurd requirements. Does look kinda cool tho

Yes that’s unfortunate. I think the high requirements are temporary as they haven’t really begun optimisation yet so hopefully they come down eventually. It is very cool.

I love survival games. Base Builders. I got 466 hrs into Valheim. 460 hrs into Satisfactory, No mans sky 289 hrs....etc... Had no Idea about this game till I saw a tiktok on it. Now i am HOOKED! So looking forward to play this game. Looks awesome. Plays awesome from what I have watched so far. 👍👍Can not WAIT for it to launch!

Crafting from storage has been in many games. One of the things Terraria did amazingly well. Auto chests were great in Terarria too. One button and it auto places in to nearby chests with the same items

This is the first video I've watched on this game. It sounds like they're taking all the best parts of Valheim, Icarus, Legend of Zelda, and a couple other great games. Guess I need to check it out.

If this game even is good, it’s gonna have to add more gamemodes and playstyles like valheim has to allow players to customize their experience. Valheim has very simple yet strong gameplay that can be endlessly customized with mods. This new game seems like it could also thrive if they make it flexible enough as a sandbox and make mod development easier because the game itself probably has a lot more to it than for Valheim for example (complexity wise) I for one would like to see a mode more focused on gritty realism and progression like Valheim or Ark because it looks like this games ‘survival’ aspects aren’t much of a challenge like other survival games

this game has promise, maybe for speedrunning. there are starts for speeding progression - try speedrunning the demo,completing all the quests, I got it down to half hour but I'm sure someone with better grasp of the mechanics can find a lot of timesave and not die so much its not all luck finding good weapons although its "set seed" so map knowledge helps

I enjoyed the game. Lots of tweaking still needs to be done, but I agree that it has a load of potential. The fact that it’s a handcrafted (pun intended) game really helps it shine. Yeah, procedural generation is cool, but there hasn’t been a lot of innovation in that space in a long time, at least not that I can recall. Enshrouded’s biggest hurdle among survival-craft gamers will be replayability. Expansion DLC will likely mitigate that risk. We’ll see! So far, I’m stoked for its release.

I Played the closed beta which was larger than the latest demo version and I have to say it has one main difference from Valheim that is HUGE and that is that the world is procedurally generated. They aren't comparable because of that IMO. I love Valheim and I very much like Enshrouded and will buy it when it goes on sale for sure. Isn't iut really Zelda with building though?

Nah, not even close to valheim. Biome diversity sucks. There is not a drop of water anywhere. Building is clunky. Progression is VERY forced.

Lmao I think the complete opposite! The building system was terrible to work with in Enshrouded. In Valheim it’s so quick and easy to start building on the fly. Hammer + right click Enshrouded? Uhh press tab and then go into a bad UI where you have to use the scroll wheel to select things but not before hitting tilde or whatever…ugh so bad.

Idk about that, my brother and I have played valheim before and he never struggled with building in that game, but when I was watching him play enshrouded it took him 2 hours to get his first house built because of the janky mechanics. Not saying valheim’s build mechanics are perfect, but definitely easier to pickup than this game.

Are there any friendly NPC;s in the game or are they only vending machines shaped like a person?

The NPCs that are vendors will talk to you from time to time and even give you quests. The game isn’t done yet, I have no idea if the developers will be expanding the nature of NPCs.

It's a cool demo, it runs like shit and I hate how the weapons fall apart so quickly. Got a sword but it's falling apart on me before I know how to make a new one!

The repair thing is not an issue. Just go use your workbench gear insta repairs when you use it. I explained the performance in the video. It’s a early demo of an early access game. Optimisation hasn’t been done yet. Devs state that.
