@@Robstrap Not deny that at all. My comment is on the way the videos are made and the stories behind the watches. I've been a watch enthusiast before I discovered Watchfinder, so these videos just add to the pleasure of it. They're selling watches, more power to them. Do you feel the same when you see any ads? Do you react this way when you see a Nike ad (assuming you are a sneaker enthusiast). I'm just appreciating the art, not bothered by the commercial aspects of it. Anyone who works with his hands, like a surgeon, dentist or artisan, can readily appreciate the skill, dedication and work required to create these marvelous micro-machines. Watches of this caliber really don't need to advertise, their reputations and word of mouth does a sufficient job,

Very nice...as a machinist and knife maker I can really appreciate this level of craftsmanship. My best knife, sold to my closest friend for material cost only, took me around 100 hours to make. Such things really are a labor of love and are imparted with a soul by the craftsman in a way machines cannot. Let's not let the craftsman become an arcane profession! @@enriqueali I learned hand-polishing myself a whila ago. The cheapest thing you can do is polishing geometrical shapes. You can always control your work under a special lamp and a glass control shape checking the interference pattern of light. This is a very technical approach, but ultimately can be learned bby quite a lot of people. Producing the same uniform quality every time. That's what makes GS so cheap, it's only easy-to-repeat forms. Same as fast-food. Now try to do the same as Piaget does. No geometrical patterns, no interference light control. Everything is done completely by hand and checked using only decade long experience. It's a true masters craft.

People who always complaint about mechanical watches being nothing but inaccurate watches made of old technology, precious metals and costing a fortune should watch your videos as you know why it is just not that. We watch enthusiast love mechanical watches not because they cost a lot of money or are a status symbol ( well for some they are but not everyone) but because it is an old art form that is still relevant even though better more advanced technology exists. We love it because it's one of the few things that represents hardwork, skill, patience of the highest value in human craftsmanship that one can actually carry with them all the time and appreciate.

Hate to be that guy, but chainmail was never conceived as an alternative to plate. :P it came into use more than a hundred years before the advent of full plate. (Though remained in use afterwards due to the fact it was cheaper, not because it was more advantageous.) Full plate is also far lighter than people suspect, weighing almost exactly the same ammount as a modern solders kit. It was also far more articulated and less restricting than what popular culture suggests. Great video though! Piaget is truly remarkable!
