Born into a family of grape farmers, Ferruccio Lamborghini found his fortune in building tractors rather than riding them. When he offered his engineering expertise to the manufacturer of his shiny new sports car, a Ferrari, he was told that the advice of a tractor mechanic was not appreciated-and so, out of stubborn determination, a supercar legend, the Lamborghini Miura, was born. I’m not unreservedly enthusiastic about all their pieces, but the DB15 is one of their models which ticks every box as far as I’m concerned. Aesthetically it’s a triumph (especially in coloured gold) and, so far as the engineering goes, it’s a knock-out.

Janson The 350 GTV was the first Lamborghini. But looking at the reaction it received it wasn‘t particularly an „answer“ to Enzo Ferrari who said Lamborghini couldn‘t build sports cars. The Miura was the answer in a sense that, at this point, Enzo had to admit that Feruccio was a great, and probably the best, carmaker of the late 60‘s. The Miura, interestingly enough, is the most widespread dreamcar in the world (meaning that all larger polls of the „personal dreamcar) that have been made have resulted in the Miura as the winner. Being a great Lamborghini and Ferrari fan, I have to admit though: nothing has ever achieved the perfect imperfection that is the Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato.

Honestly, De Bethune watches, like the Starry Varius, could have been the next Chronometer Blu, but unlike F.P. Journe, De Bethune raised the price of the Starry Varius to match the resell price, so people didn't notice the massive hike from 20K to 100k in that line.
