Aliex, you truly are my favorite KZbin channel, with Epic setups. For everything I enjoy, watching you do. My love is my kayak, making it my own. Fishing, just being in the water. I love my Suzuki 2.5, electronics, add-ons, and my accessories. And making my kayak setup, my own. I'm running my Bixpy, and my 2019 2.5 is all broken in, and it will go on my kayak, just don't want it to drop off the stern lol. But the Bixpy, my mirage drive drive and my outboard, is all I need. Always get home when it turns ugly. Awesome stuff bro!! 🎣 🌊 😎

Aleix....you need a tiller extension and you need to move that seat forward to get a better plane....you will get an extra 1.5-2mph. Also scupper plugs. I go 10mph on my nucanoe unlimited with a 4hp.

i thought about it but it wont make any difference, maybe .5 mph maybe, this is a 2.5 not a 4 and that hull doesnt help

My father mounted a gas motor to his Old Town kayak. But he also built the Pontoon to go off the one side to move the motor forward more. He gets up pretty good on plane and get some good speed

If that middle hatch wasnt producing drag you might get a couple more MPH out of it but it looks like that slowed it down quite a bit. Great experiment!

I'm thinking of adding pool noodles under the cover make it more water tight and take this setup fishing but I can tell you now it won't go faster than 6mph because of science

Very interesting, I honestly thought it would go a lot faster. I can achieve between 4km/h (2.49 mph) to 8km/h (4.97 mph) with my water snake T24 and a 50Ah Lifepo4 battery. Wonder what the run time with that fuel tank would be out of curiosity. Thanks for making this video though. Was fun to watch 👍

I bought me a jonny boat bass 100 today because i watched your reviews. I bought the one with the trolling motor. Fingers crossed 🤞. Ive been on the fence for weeks because I wanted the pelican catch 100 and I thought i was for sure getting that but i went with the bass 100. I still might get a catch 100 for my wife.

I think if you added fenders to the kayak, then you should have no problem with a 5-8hp outboard motor. I'm actually looking at doing it 3-mile offshore fishing.

Please try a larger motor. I have a 6 hp Yamaha on a pelican catch power 100. Came stock with a 7 1/4 x 8 1/4 prop but I am getting an extra 7 1/2 x 9 prop just in case. I way 130 pounds, my goal is to get it to plane. Still dealing with dnr…. Would you happen to know if the kayak you were using has a planing hull? by the way, I believe the 2 1/2 hp Yamaha weigh the same as the 6 hp yamahas, but I believe they are pretty close to the weight of a 6 hp Suzuki anyways, and I know you have already tried that with the Jonny bass boat. Something to look in to. I overlooked Yamaha on my original search for kayak motors, because I thought they were too expensive, happened to get a steal of a deal on the six horse On marketplace tho.

I figured full throttle would be a waste before you did it. I figured that the maximum hull speed would've been about 5 mph. You proved the most efficient speed was 5 mph. With gasoline being as expensive as it is, there is no sense in opening up the throttle to the wide open position. Efficiency is the name of the game. A 1 mph increase in speed isn't worth the loss in fuel economy. Therefore, you could even use a smaller engine to achieve 5 mph.
