Bought one of those telescopic anteannas a few months ago from Knights. Best antenna I've had for quick portable use on my lunch breaks at work. So easy to drop a few sections and switch between bands too. Pushes out a great signal.. I use mine on my BMW Mini roof so at full stretch on 20m just imagine how that thing looks! Haha. Try attaching some light wire the same length as the anteanna to the top using a little crocodile clip. It will give you 40m too.

Great demonstration! Bought one of these direct from a Chinese supplier - comes with an M10 thread so needed re-tapping with a 3/8 dye to fit my adapters - a simple job. Cut a 1m length of aluminium support pole hammered into ground as earth spike, 3/8 to pl259 adapter /clamp and works a treat! I use a VNA at base of antenna and telescope antenna for best SWR. Simple and efficient Ground Plane! Would be great for camping and motorhomes portable setup.

It's easy to figure the length of a straight, tubular 1/4 wavelength vertical antenna (which Andy is using). This NEVER changes. The length is feet is equal to 234 divided by the frequency (in MHz). MHz is the abbreviation for Megahertz. Andy was speaking on 21.385 MHz. So, take 234 and divide it by 21.385. Your answer is expressed in feet. 73 to all Mike Amateur Radio W4RN Round Hill, Virginia USA

great job .nice moonraker has them. in the US they are common hear. MFJ has one. even coils for 40/80 meters and with 2 -80 meter coils will tune 160 meters. when adding coil the Q goes up and tunning can be tricky. should work great 6 meters. maybe even 4 meters but in the US we don't have 4 meter ham. bring a laptop and you can work some digital with that 7100 . you can do parks on the air from the UK . becoming big in the US. I do POTA with IC 7300 and battery with a wire antenna . even 6 meters FT8 contacts. 73's

Hi Andy, I just ordered this antenna here, today from moonraker, and the adapter too. I think it's 41.95 Pounds for the price they charged me and about 42 Pounds for Fed Ex international to US shipping.I saw about 88 Pounds for the total amount, to be converted to $ US 🇺🇸 for my account. I also have the IC-705 and AH-705 tuner, so I look forward to try it on my Jeep Renegade with the Diamond K-400 mount with an SO-239 connector, at the lip 💋 of my trunk hatch. I also have the Comet UHV- 6, multiband HF antenna, and some Diamond single band whips, which I imported from Waters and Stanton, because they seem better than the US 🇺🇸 version of the Diamond single band whips. I am not sure yet how well they will perform as I am just testing them om my Jeep with my Rig Expert HF-6 Analyzer. 73 de W2CH Ray, New Hampshire. version

I'm just getting back into cb after 30 odd years and am trying to catch up on the latest equipment and scrape together a cheap, portable rig to get out on for a bit of fun. I've seen off-brand versions of these large telescopics for around 20quid, and then a 30w HF full band 5-55mhz QRP antenna for around 45 quid. I'm just wondering if they could be used together, and if that would give me a decent portable option for relatively cheap. What do you think?
