I put a Screamin' Eagle 131 in my Brand New Harley Davidson!

Had the big bore kit on mine for a year now. Con's: It ain't a cheap upgrade. Using the stock header that comes with it suffocates the engine and WAY TOO much heat from the rear cylinder and catalytic converter. Using HD Pro Street Tuner and header will limit it's full potential but they have the EPA riding their azz is why. Switching out tuner and header will void your warranty (if that is important to you). Very, very torquey and can get away from you. Not for the novice rider. Spins the tires getting on it going through the gears if you are quick shifting. Don't do that. Incredibly hard to ride the speed limit. It ain't built for cruising, you can but not fun at all. She wants to go!!! More HP means more heat, you need to be 40+ mph to keep that engine cool. Don't get stuck in bumper to bumper traffic. Gas mileage goes down (but you know bigger engines eat gas). Pros: Switch out header to a Fullsac MX for 2n2 exhaust or run D&D 2n1exhaust (you will get the best numbers running D&D). Switch out Tuner for PowerVision or the likes to get a major boost in both HP and Torque. Switching out header to get rid of the heat from rear cylinder and catalytic converter. It will get you to 100mph very quickly. It's a $hitload of fun but learn to respect the power or it can get away from you. Bragging rights. And if you do it. Have fun and remember, Respect the Power.

Reading through the comments there sure are a lot of HD haters. That 131 is a great build. Is it as fast as a stock crotch rocket?... No. That's why it's considered a "cruiser". Try to ride a crotch rocket Coast to coast. I've owed two HD's and have had zero issues. Reliability has been good. I don't understand the comments regarding how uncomfortable Harleys are. Touring is what there designed for. As far as price goes all motorcycles in this category are overpriced these days. Hell.. In general all motorcycles are overpriced, especially if you live in a state that is seasonal and your riding time is limited. And last, some people just like the way a Harley looks, sounds, and want to buy from an American company with a long history.

I ride a fireblade and have ridden ZX10R's and R1's all my riding career with friends. That torque figure is actually crazy, sure you aren't gunna hand with the I4's @ 180 but you'll keep up off the line for a good minute with torque/HP like that. I don't like the way harley's feel to ride but they do look/sound good.

Hi I'm about to do an SE 131 kit with KW 4.5 slip-ons and their performance baffles. Did you use any other non HD parts? Head pipe etc.? 138 hp is great on that stock kit, but most of these builds I have seen are in the 120-125 hp range. You mention you used the SE Pro tuner. Just wondering how to get the same results. I just bought a 21 road glide special with screaming eagle package stage 4 if motor is changed it must be purchased 60 after sale of the bike to keep the factory warranty. I also purchased service, maintenance, priority tires wheels repairs, and screaming eagle package. I'm very excited. Currently a 114 Milwaukee 8. Billard Teal with chrome. I also purchased the Chrome Werkz exhaust with similar tips. I can't wait.

Well that was more the tune than the cam and that's the fault of the EPA.

Nuke the warranty on the 128/131 with a tuner and a s&s 540 or cyclerama 540 cam. There isn't any way possible a 114 can hang naturally aspirated. Big valve heads and highlift springs in the stage 4 heads allow for incredible power potential.

You need how to value shop. I put a 131 crate motor in my 2020 Road Glide Special for way less then what you think, (yes, I got a smoking deal on the bike and just as smoking of a deal on the motor, peripheries and install), and the result is absolutely addictive. So "bro", until you shop and actually own/ride one perhaps it's best you shut your pie hole. (Unless you think you're the cat's meow riding around on an old bagger then you're right on track)

The 131 kit for my 2020 street glide ran 6800 with labor and dyno out the door. It is Florida where there seems to be a Harley dealer every 3 feet lol. All jokes aside there are 6 within 50 miles of me so they are all competing for business.

@@projektxent 131kit, 64mm throttle body, breather, ran me $4,222.85 for parts. I also ordered the street tuner k, cruise control, flush fuel cap, front and rear leds for turn signals, and with labor it all came out to $8,419.60. Don’t know how much they charged for labor on the 131 install itself since labor is a lump sum for all those upgrades.

I have a zx14 and a road glide. Yes the Kawi is waaayyyy faster, handles better, all that. But it’s a different vibe on a bagger. I can still smoke most things with 4 tires on the road but I can ride it literally all day. On my zx I’ll get some aches.They both have their pros and cons that’s for sure. For me, when I got the need for speed I’m on the zx all day, but when I wanna chill and listen to my loud system cruisin around, it’s the bagger most times.

They cost double the money, are unreliable, handle like a Sherman tank, are way underpowered for their size, vibrate, awkward riding position, and the list goes on! They are the only motor vehicle, in the world that , hasn't had a major design change in 100 years! If you had a job on construction , and needed , a pickup truck to make a living, would you choose a new Chevy, Ford or a Dodge or would you buy and pay more for it and get a 1914 model A ford? Why is it so elusive to get an answer, as to why these idiots are so thrilled with a Harley?
