That upside is a good feeling. Meaning 300 bucks a month (with growth potential) is far more important than making money at a 9-5. Just the freedom and understanding that what you’re doing now (regardless of income at the moment) will be much more worth it in 10 years vs staying at your job.

The irony of your channel name is you don’t even need to change it for the beautiful shift your channel has taken. Listen, don’t let the people who want your old content get you down. Dorian has DEVELOPED into a better and happier person who is enjoying life to the best of his ability and there’s nothing wrong with that. I would argue that the haters are just jealous that you’ve been able to escape being a cog for capitalism to pursue what makes you truly happy. Don’t worry about this dip in your metrics, the right people will flock to your channel in due time. Meanwhile don’t be afraid of using other social media like tiktok or twitch, tiktok needs inspirational people like you to fight the hustle pr0n and twitch you could do “co-working” sessions where you just hang out and chat and encourage others to strive for their dreams. You’ve encouraged me, I know I’m just some nobody on the internet but you definitely inspire me and I’ve tried sharing your videos with other like minded people. Keep being happy Dorian!

I think that many people in this time period are fighting against the 9 to 5 paradigm and it's why we're starting to see a surge of more gig apps where you CAN work your own schedule and have time to do the things that you like to do. Times ARE changing. It seems like a lot of companies are ADAPTING to this demand. Otherwise, they won't have as many people working for them and A.I. could only do so much!!! So, let's ALL continue this and thus, bring more of the freedom that we seek into existence!

Good on you for doing what you want. I've had some family that just never was able to make those things happen, and kind of became stuck in the the 9-5 life to survive for decades. Some of them can't even appropriately retire. It's pushed me to try and make sure that doesn't happen to me, so this was welcomed advice to maybe slow down and take things in before I'm gone.

I made 60k+ each year over the last 10 years and feel exactly the same way about my 9 to 5 job as you do yet you made almost double what I did in just 3yrs while it took me 10yrs to only earn 600k. Financially I'm comfortable, I'm better off than most, and live within my means, but the fact that you don't feel any better than I do and you earned over a million dollars in just 3 years says a lot. Not sure what all it's saying, but it's A LOT.

@@doitthisway654 thank for your response. I think I made a lot’s of mistakes during last 4-5 yrs and it has caught up with me. When money started to come in, sometimes 45k a months, I felt rich and invisible and bought things shouldn’t have. Put almost 300k in stock and crypto and I think I am 50% down now. I am nearing 40 with no substantial savings or plan and hence it scares me about the future. Two months ago I took a low paying 100% remote role(150k) and wondering if moving to Malaysia to reduce the stress however I am worried about the working hours. For anyone wanting to leave your 9 to 5 to pursue some sort of business... first, ask yourself if this phrase sounds true to you: "I'd rather work 80 hours a week working on my own business, than 40 hours a week working for someone else." If this does NOT sound like you, then do NOT try to pursue a business - you will fail. You won't invest the time necessary to make your business successful.

If you're doing anything productive in your backyard and making around half the pay 9-5 would bring you, remind yourself you would have to pay someone to do the same stuff you do in the yard, and they'd probably mess it up, not do it your way or have to be watched over. 9-5 isnt made for everyone. I got ADHD and pretending to work makes me even more tired than actually doing something, and everyone works like that for a shitty pay. Topping that off that I don't agree with some decisions or tasks, I just get more tired than after a full day of physical work, leaving me with no motivation to do anything outside of the job, in my free time.
