Have you quit your job before? How did that work out for you?

I have a remote Job and yeah I hate my job. NGL. 😅

10 years ago I tried to quit my job, but did not have a supportive spouse. She refused to help, caused unnecessary drama, blew through our savings. I never got my business established.

It worked out. March 2020 I left my warehouse job and in May 2022 I got a Jr developer job. Late 2019 I would sneak my laptop in on Saturdays and learn to code at work.

Quit my IT Support onsite Job 2021 but I have savings, then after a year I got a remote Job as Service Desk and paying more than before. Its not easy but if you want it I think you can do it. I'm still working remotely on the same job for almost 2 years now and I like it. What I can say is that don't just quit without a plan and savings because you have to eat and got bills to pay but everyone can do it!

You are so right about that fear! I recently resigned from my six-figure sales “career” to pursue my passion. The #1 reason was because I began having literal dreams (nightmare even) of being on my death bed, looking back on my life, and feeling regret that I didn’t have the courage to break free from the golden handcuffs to pursue my true purpose. It started happening more and more as I approached my 40th birthday, and I couldn’t take it anymore! Yes, I am living paycheck to paycheck now, but I’ve never felt more alive. This is 💯 truth! 🙌
@mrwojnaАй бұрын
Similar! I was in the sixes and walked. Felt like an extra in my own life movie. Now my money is funny, but I feel amazing. Strange how I feel more alive now that I’m heading for destruction, than I did when everything was “safe”.

@@mrwojna amen to that! I’m right there with you - my “money is funny” but everything seems so bright now 🙌

Man, your videos really give me hope. I'm 27, no career, livin' in a third world country; I quit a good job on IT that I got thanks to a good friend. After a two years I felt miserable and decided to quit to persue a career in graphic design, which is what I really like. I've been 5 months without any income, living out of savings and trying daily to improve my skills to build a decent Portfolio. Today is my Birthday and I'll take this video as a gift and motivation. Thank you very much for all of the content you make and god bless you.

Let's see how happy you are after 2 years without income. If you like design, then you could have done it as a side job until you actually make income. You probably just a lazy ass
@Pulsefire1995Ай бұрын
I say that you should only quit your job when you have a enough in your savings account to sustain you for awhile. With how things are in this economy, it is not a good idea to quit right now. Just wait it out, continue saving, and then quit. Bills do not care if you are feeling depressed, sad, angry, happy, peace. You need to be an adult about this and handle your personal things first. I say this because not EVERYONE has a KZbin channel to continue giving them money. Dorian is in a different position than us. He was also a software engineer at one point and probably had enough saved up to do this traveling thing. Can we make a KZbin channel? Yes. Do we *want* to be a KZbinr? No. Not everyone wants to be a KZbinr. Regardless what you do, job and money is not going to go anywhere. No matter what part of the world you are in, we still have to do our part in society. It has been like this for centuries. Honestly, I am tired of hearing about the "rat race" over and over and over again. If it is emotional problem that you are having, then that needs to be fixed first. That is the check engine light to get yourself fixed. Because you can be anywhere, at the best place, having the best time. But if you continue to be depressed, sad, lonely, whatever. Then that will NEVER go away. I feel that KZbin just keeps going on this cycle with all of these videos. How many times must we talk about this topic before we see a change?

Yes, I did it. With a family, three young kids, and 13 years of experience in logistics operations behind me, I left a toxic environment that made it so hard to grow and was riddled with multiple issues that any good person would want to avoid. I made this change because of my passion for technology, a dream that I have always wanted to pursue. I am now working on my own project, applying what I believe in and generating income by making deliveries as well. At the end of the day, I feel free to work by my own rules and that I'm doing better.

Thanks Dorian, really needed this. I never quit mine, but got affected by the huge tech layoffs. Basically just started my career(was like 3 years in) and I'm done with the 9-5. Companies do not care, so why should we? I'm planning on starting something of my own with my (luckily super supportive) partner. Good luck to you and your family. ❤️

Do not quit anything without a plan. Do not quit anything when you are angry. Calm down and make a rational decision. Have another job lined up before you quit. If you are changing careers spend your free time working at that until you are ready

i actually quite a good paying job in my field of work. right on january 5th the day before january 6th. all of 2020 was crazy i didn't know what was next and it influenced me quitting my job, and then that's when economy bounced back to normal once the election ended. but i myself didn't recover. so quitting is good if it's bad jobs, not great if it's the better jobs because chances of actually rebounding is tougher. it will likely be a demotion.

I'm just thinking of quitting. I kinda hate my job. The only good think about it that it's pays some money (almost good). But it's missing 2 other factors ... engaging tasks and great people. Great people are in my company but not really in my account, there are just few and I rarely work with them so most of the work is tedious because you got additional factor of wasting energy making things done. But I have almost 0 solid plans for the future. 500 subs on YT won't gonna cut it :D. They want me to move to new account so I have to align again, meet new people, get to know new environment, etc ... I think I'm to tired to do it ...

MERN is very versatile but simply knowing how to code is not enough anymore. Soft skills and communication (or professional asskissing) will go much further for your corporate career trajectory. Quit my "lucrative" IT job a while ago and Havent looked back since. Sure i cant fund my addictions as often anymore but now i know the office life is full of snakes and superficial B.S

Do not follow this advice in this economy this is a pretty irresponsible video. 2019… maybe. You seem out of touch with how HARD it is for people to find work at the moment. And how little money people have since the middle class in america is being entirely hollowed out. If you have a job and you don’t have 10000000% of a solid business plan that you’ve vetted extremely hard… don’t follow this advice. This is coming from someone who’s running their own business and has been full time for the last 5 years. It’s HARD right now. I’m basically running 2 businesses simultaneously just to make ends meet. I’m burnt out and tired, I have responsibilities to take care of, and I can barely manage it. I WISH i could fall back on part time work again but it’s so hard to find even a decent part time job with flexible hours. I like you Dorian but you shoot all over the fucking place with your content. You can’t tell people to quit their jobs and leave america… that’s not possible for any normal person. Even if you’re abnormal (like me) and are willing to do some of these things, it’s still a crazy uphill battle.
