Felt a little bit of nostalgia when you mentioned if people have watched you from the beginning. I have and it's really cool to see you grow up and how far you've come in your career. I'm only a year older than you and I feel like we've grown up together in a way. You are by far my favorite youtuber to watch and I love your outlook on life. Thank you for all that you share!

honestly i love your perspective on "networking" being more about passionately talking about your work rather than the typical "informational" coffee, which sets a more formal tone :) currently working a corporate job in the film industry and started my channel to try to open up other revenue streams! your content is very inspiring!!

I couldn't agree anymore with your tips before going freelance! I'm in the same boat right now, working retail but I don't have enough jobs lined up to go freelance just yet. This was so reassuring because so many of my other friends just risked instead. Thank you thank you!! I love you

Hey Katy, I love your content and your whole personality - hope that you and your family are doing well during these troubling times! I saw in a few places that you said that you were putting out resume templates. Although I really like your designs, it’s important to note that a lot of the non-creative fields actually prefer the plain resumes. While you have a lot of experience working in your field, most college students do not and may need a different style of resume. Resume writing requires a lot of knowledge and not doing it properly can be detrimental to another person’s career. Just be careful, something to keep in mind!
@HelloKatyxo4 жыл бұрын
Hi there! Thanks for your message. I'm not forcing anyone to use the templates I create on my Patreon! I am creating them due to many requesting that I do! I am creating customizable templates where you can easily alter the colors to reflect something more neutral and "plain" as you described in your message, or more colorful if you are going into a creative field where it adds greatly to your application to have a more design-based resume. I am not writing anyone's resume for them. Each section has filler text so people can craft their own. Just trying to help!

Great video! Just a quick thought on afterpay - For larger purchases, being able to finance them over time is great, especially in times like this. Yet I have also noticed that afterpay tends to pop up on a lot of clothing websites, etc where consumers are typically not buying big ticket items. If you cannot afford something at the time and it isn’t an essential need, but more of a discretionary purchase, paying it off over a few months isn’t a great idea because it perpetuates the cycle of spending on credit and/or beyond your means. Love Katy though, this is just my opinion from a financial perspective.

I was just thinking back on when you were living in Florence and the content you were creating. Your content at the time inspired me to quit my full time job and switch to online work so I could move abroad. I've lived on many continents and have had the best of adventures and whenever I feel like my well is running dry of inspiration I come back to your videos! The progress you have made on your life's journey is so inspiring and you should feel so proud of yourself!

Hi Katy !!! I literally just discovered you and I’m so happy !!! this video is literally what i needed to see. I have been doing KZbin since 2014 but because of I decided to go to uni abroad and had to start working as well i kind of lost focus. Now i am taking this “time off” to focus on what i really want to do, i started filming again and i am getting more into freelancing which I started earlier this year ✨ thank you for great tips !! Wishing you all the best 💌

I am currently binge listening to your podcast and I am on the black history month episode and I just want to say thank you for your uplifting message towards Black woman. I have never heard a white influencer ever speak about that before and it is important that you are using your privilege to speak on this. I just subscribed to you and im going to follow you on instagram. I just had to send you this message!! Thank you so much and I hope you are staying safe during quarntine.

Dear Katy. I really wanna thank you for all the content you share with us. You are such an inspiration, you talk us about being independent, about owning our own business, about money management, lifestyle... and i don't know if you are concious about the important of this kind of content in this new era of strong and independent women. Thank you very much, I really enjoy all your content, the more professional oriented and the more chill. Also I love your friends, i love the group you have created. Thank you very much and I hope you are dealing well with the isolation situation. Lots of love from Spain.

This is very inspiring. I have a background in design too, and have worked as a freelance consultant at different points in my career -- both by choice and after layoffs, and I'm building a channel about getting out of the Rat Race. The current crisis is underscoring how important it is to be able to take control of one's career path instead of being at the mercy of others. Enjoyed hearing your story, and have sub'd you.

I also did it when I was living in Georgia (country) and I had good salary for that country, but when I moved to New York it was enough, so then in found two part time jobs here. It’s great that you are able to do it ❤️

That was interesting thank you! I agree that learning to say no and/or delegate are very important. Am wondering how your assistant's working hours fit in with your later-in-the-day to evening pattern? Also, is she an actual employee and how does that all work with employment contracts and laws, tax and insurances, fair pay etc, etc? Any advice in those areas would be helpful👍

I’ve been a subscriber for a while now, since your high school years actually haha. Even back then I really enjoyed watching your videos, especially the ones where you sit and just talk to us about life and other useful things that a lot of KZbinrs don’t touch up on. You just always seem to have a way of explaining things that make everything so much easier to understand, so thank you for making these videos. I hope I can also make something of myself and find my passion like you did. ( ◠‿◠ )
