I had the same feeling 2 years ago and I quit my job and started my own business (test equipment development). For a while it gave me joy and money. Today, things are getting more complicated to get more projects and I'm learning new stuff to go back to be an employee on different area hopefully on embedded systems. My point is, who knows what's next, if you have the correct attitude and dedication let's give it a shot! Keep us posted !

Great testimony, brother! I found your channel coincidentally today and like you I´ve wondering on quit my current job in public service to dedicate this year of 2023 to get prepared to land a embedded software engineer job, preferably a remote one, by the end of 2023 or beginning of 2024. Like you I also believe God has the best for me. I trust Him and His providence. And that includes what makes me happy and satisfied.

Wonderful, your straightforward down to earth story. I have a small project and am wondering where to start. When drawing in a cad program, I want the actual size of the mouse movement to be drawn in the cad drawing, not a ratio. In other words, move the mouse in a 4"x4" square and that is what shows on the drawing. Changing the counts in the mouse software does not come close. Any ideas?
@GreidiAjalik2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! odds are that the cad software has a Python library where you can pretty much execute all cad things… if not there could be a way to use the cad console to use cads own commands to draw… that can be all automated :)

Sitting at a desk all day working is miserable. This is how I feel, where is my purpose? I'm even moving for a new job, and more pay, and honestly I don't want to move anymore soon. At least I will be working in the office. I've been WFH for the past 4 years, and maybe its the problem.

@GreidiAjalik2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the support my friend! Probably an average of 9 hours per day 5 days a week. In the end I tried to keep myself at 8 hours. Totally depends on the company or person working... some people love to put in a lot of hours, I did that too in the beginning. Cheers!

@@CochesHastaelInfinito Where I m from most contracts come from outsourcing automotive and we have NXP, Infineon, Microchip, Intel, AMD which have lower pay than you would at something like Adobe, UIPath or any outsourcing company. Plus most of these jobs require onsite work and not hybrid at least. BUT, electronics community is very cool, you don t work agile and you can make your own startup. If you know how to make chip, PCB design, firmware , CAD etc.

Hello Greidi,Im a Software Engineer that randomly encountered your video, its great that you quit a job that was taking off your life in a sense,I see you believe in Jesus,well,this is the time to reconcile with God,probably you were loosing your personal time with him with that previous job,now,you need to give your weights to him,dont let the social and economic pressure overtake you,God will provide(Jireh),but you need to fully depend only in him,read more your bible,pray more,go to church,serve in church,listen to worship music,and never take a decision without asking him first,ask him if what you are going to do is according to his will and glorifies God,do your best to be the child of God he wants you to be, and always remember this verse: *Matthew 6:25-33* 25 “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? 31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. *33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.* Money is not freedom, Jesus is! *John 8:36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.* God bless!!

Hey Greidi, how many hours of your free time would you say you spent learning about embedded systems per hour you worked? The more I learn, the more I feel I need to know, and time at work is just not enough...
@GreidiAjalik2 жыл бұрын
Not a lot, although, when I did my MSCS classes I spent 20+ hours per week on learning on my own time, but that is a bit different of what you're asking, I think. My personal opinion coming up: as an engineer you can't be expected to know everything - so trying to learn in order to figure out solutions to problems faced at work is part of the job. For example, I had to write code for completely new technologies I had never worked with, so I told my management that I need to spend time on learning and researching before I can actually start developing. They said it's understandable. If you want to improve your skillset and it might not be directly related to your project you're working on, you can ask your manager if you can spend 5-10 hours per week learning about. You'd want to make sure you mention it would benefit the company, help you come up with better solutions, etc.

I worked for some 2 or 3 years after High School, then I spen t 15 years between freelance and repeating courses and hopping from University to a university, until I finally got my bachelor's degree, which was so much desired by my parents, then I spend some years with my parents in the country, until I began to feel uncomfortable about losing expertise in Industrial Automation, so I just replied to a first job offer that I had on a recruiting website. Now I'm employed in designing a nuclear-powered Icebreaker, however, not parting ways with my hobbies, such as cycling swimming, component repair of the motherboards and even computer games. Come see for yourself, Russia is the land of opportunity. No mortgage , no student loans, don't need no insurances. You can build a home in a couple of years working part-time. You can take your exams how many times you want to learn for free. Your health is state's No.1 priority, you get MRI and neurosurgery for free within a year or two. The only insurance you need to pay for is driver's liability insurance if you own a car, it is $100 a year for an average car.

That's very interesting, didn't know about all these things about living in Russia.
