I’m laughing and admiring you at the same time! You have some of the same crazy-head that my son does. He has 4 types of major arthritis, a fused spine up into his skull, swollen feet, etc. His feet often swell, plus he can’t bend to put runner on, so he wears his flip-flops all year round (Canadian winter included), AND participates in mini-triathlons* wearing them. (I wish I was able to post a pic of him finishing a triathlon run in his flip-flops with his companion, doggie.) As a former athlete, he’s not there to win, just to participate and finish, which is a win for his determined soul. We’re very proud of him. As I’m sure your parents are of you too! 😄 * Sprint-distance triathlon (mini-triathlon): Half of the Olympic distances. Swim - 0.5 miles, Cycling - 12.4 miles, run for 3.1 miles.

Kia kaha HTD. What a legend! That was an emotional roller coaster. First l panicked a bit cos l thought you meant the Coast to Coast that starts at Kumara Beach, goes over the Southern Alps and ends here in Otautahi. Then l was worried incase you'd forgotten to take a couple of bread tags with you and were gonna bust your plugger but, l realised at the end that they were your own brand of jandals with the built in bread tags. Phew.

I have dyscalculia and can never understand how far distances are. I also have asthma so any amount of running is impressive to me… I really sincerely thought this was a huge thing to accomplish… until he said it took less than 20 minutes… now I could be wrong still and maybe it’s very impressive to run 3.24km in 18 minutes… I know I wouldn’t be able to run any distance for 17 minutes straight so… I still say great job!!

You should do Norway next. Although litterally on the other side of the globe, the geography is similar with a lot of mountains and fjords. The narrowest point of central Norway is Hellmobotn where it is 6km from the fjord to the Swedish border.
