Fuck this destroyed me emotionally. If Stan doesn't get major Hollywood-level job offers after this insanely powerful edit, then people have seriously fucked up. The music choice, the pacing, the type of shots, everything was insane. This is up there with THE best Casey Neistat edits, truly unbelievable. Several days after this video was released it's still number 7 on trending in the UK. So well deserved - you FINALLY got the recognition. I've been here watching and sharing the videos since day 1 of the mission. As a geography nerd, to see the landscape and climate change over the course of a year, in real time, from temperate fields to desert to rainforest to desert to temperate fields (completing the narrative cycle) has been like nothing I've ever experienced before. Groundbreaking content the entire way through which never failed to highlight local culture and didn't shy away from the truth or ever stray into political territory. Massive MASSIVE congratulations to Russ, Stan, Jamie, James, Jared, Guus, Harry, and let's not forget the legendary Nessy, a key part of the crew in Namibia, who unfortunately seems to have not made it to Tunisia for the finish. Above all, what has shocked me the most is how that blue minibus Nelly actually crossed Africa thanks to the work of many many mechanics. Nelly has a special place in my heart personally, because you mentioned that it used to be a school minibus and several times I actually went on a minibus almost identical to Nelly on trips when I was in school in London! P.S. Thank you Stan for artfully making the crucial shots of the finish line so respectful, cutting out the vast majority of the political flag waving, which isn't something that will ever result in peace. This choice has not gone unnoticed.

Okay. Crying here. For those who have not been total followers (and I probably came on late-ish, alerted by Nate from "Kara & Nate" vlog.) So happy to see Jared. And Harry, who IS the specific individual who had a gun pointed into his face. Credit here, please. And yes, we all know Gus is tre tre chic & coolio and tall and good looking and a total hardcore renegade, and was NOT going to stop running challenge until he was falling down & had to have intervention by Jamie. And found all the best swimming holes en route, in Africa. But can we give credit to the Second Hardest Geezer of all? Stan. Stan has been there ALL ALONG. (As far as I have viewed.) Never left on break. Never daunted. Never intrepid. Never stopped. Can't lob a soccer ball to save his life. (Or was it field baseball? I have forgotten.) But that's not the sort of tenacity measured on the Project Africa Mission, is it? Through gun robbery (okay he was in the hotel, fortunately, or more tech would have been robbed) Visa--um, I'm gonna say--conundrums; under plastic tarps beside support-vehicle "Nelly" in 110° mid-day Congolese heat; under the incessant humiliation from the team--and not the utmost respect from our Russell, mind you, Stan's magnificent editing (in addition to Jamie's, later on, I believe) is The Story we see. That's it. That's all we know. THAT is hardcore aesthetic geezer stuff right there. Only suggestion is, I had always wanted updated info on the team in the vlog: names & who left and who came on, and why. That would have been viewer-appreciated. Russ. You are a true hero. Your attitude throughout is EVERYTHING. Your tenacity. Your chill self. Your humility. Your humor. (So damn British!) Your wry, shy smile so wide. It covers everything. "Bang bang!" ♡

Honestly I don’t know what to do with my life now that this series is over (probably work and sleep like a normal human being again). Finished watching the last episode a couple of days ago after bingewatching the series for like two weeks, and I am honestly very impressed! Man, the tears was falling down like the Niagra falls during the last couples of episodes and during the DOAC-episode, which was jawdropping! It’s been hard to process everything that the team has been through, and they still managed to finish the project. That is mental and totally crazy! Stan, Jamie and the rest of the team did a AMAZING job with the filming and editing, especially with the last episode which was very emotional and moving (I honestly didn’t want it to end, like with the last episode of HIMYM and Friends). Well done Stan! 👏🏻 I’ve been dealing with anxiety for the most part of my life and has been going through a rough period for the last couple of weeks. Both music and this series actually did my mental health better in a way. This series reminded me of that it is possible to overcome and fight back the toxic thoughts that is in your head, even if it for the moment seems impossible. You are the only one who can make a difference for yourself! Russ’ project and discipline has inspired me to start running and doing orienteering again despite my footinjury that occured a couple of months ago, which damaged some of the nerves in my foot. In Sweden we have a yearly thing called ”Hittaut” (In English: ”find outside”) which is an orienteering event with checkpoints in almost every municipality in the country. The checkpoints are only available during a couple of months. My goal is to do atleast two municipalities this year and probably 6 (hopefully 10) municipalities next year. Actually did my first session of orienteering today, eventhough my hay fever almost killed me twice. Despite the dying part, it was a great feeling to be running again! Will probably rewatch the whole series again because of how amazing they all are! Very sad I didn’t find out about this series sooner. Can’t wait for the next adventure! Love from Sweden 🇸🇪💚

Reduced me to tears. I've been unable to run, hike or do any the physical activities I love because of a jammy toe for the last 4/5 months. Seeing a local maraton take place made me emotional but this story is the cherry on top. Surgery planned for 4 days time and as soon as i'm fit and well again I'll be back out there and thinking of this project. Massive props and congrats to Russ and the team involved. What an inspiriation.

Thank you Stan, Jamie and Guus, proud to have a Dutch representation in the mission, for creating this series, its been an amazing ride. Also, Jarred and Harry, you guys also deserve the credit for your works at the start of this mission. You all deserve more credit. It has been a beautiful ride and it's such a same it has to end. This series has been such a motivation for me personally and I'm really gone miss this part of my weekly routine as it has been a part since the beginning. Also, not to forget, Congrats Russ on become the first person ever to run the entire length of Africa!!! I regret not coming out, but I'll try to make it to the next big thing, I'm sure it won't disappoint

Congratulations Russ and Team! Im lucky to have stumbled upon your channel before the mission even started (Thanks GeoGusser) and never missed an episode. Little did I know at that time that I would eagerly await every video for the past year and enjoy the struggle of running across Africa so much! The journey has been inspirational in so many ways, not only for the physical accomplishment, but for showing the kindness, community, and humanity in every country you and the team passed through. I sincerely look forward to what you have planned next and hope this monumental effort continues to generate the attention and charitable donations its deserves. If you are ever in Atlanta, Georgia, I would love to buy you a beer, or strawberry Daiquiri...you've earned it!! Cheers!

I've been following from the beginning and this hit the feels hard, the emotion of the day was captured perfectly. Pure cinema. Shoutout to Stan, and Jamie for regular uploads in the most outrageous conditions. We've all witnessed a moment in history, so thank you for sharing that with us.

Russ and gang, you might not see this comment but I wanted to post it anyway. I found your channel around a month into Project Africa, and at the time I was going through a lot of stress with medical issues and my child on the way. He was born 3 months premature and stayed in hospital from July to October as we lived out of a hotel nearby. The mission was a highlight every time you uploaded, letting me see more of the world than I ever will. Thank you to everyone involved, can't wait to see what you mad lads have planned next!

The jeopardy, the adventure and joys of travelling, the life-enrichment of meeting new people and indulging in new cultures. The personality, charisma and shared love throughout the different characters in the team. All of this surrounding the greatest achievement of human endurance I’ve ever seen. No other documentary series comes close. Love you all, loved it all. Can’t wait to see what’s in store
