1:34 You'd probably like a little indie game called "Hidden Folks" which is kind of a cross between Where's Waldo and a Hidden Object Game. The gimmick is that everything is hand-drawn, and all the sound effects are just the designer making funny sounds. It's really cute.

Time Trax was syndicated. In my area, it aired usually on the channel that would become UPN a few years later and I believe our local Fox affiliate for one season. SciFi Channel was still in its infancy and wouldn't have first run shows still on the air for a few more years.

Time Trax was a rad show! I'm pretty sure it was syndicated, so it showed up in one of those odd afternoon slots depending on your local stations, but I enjoyed it a ton (and no, I won't rewatch it to tarnish my 13 year old self's memories of it). However, total Mandela Effect moment, because I could have sworn I read about this in an issue of a game magazine being cancelled and for years would think, "That's a bummer, Time Trax would have made a great SNES game." THQ actually did go on to publish some pretty good games near the end of their run. The first great games they made were the WCW and WWF games for the N64. But they had some pretty good series' on their roster in later years. UFC, Saints Row and Darksiders to name a few. Unfortunately, those series weren't enough to save them from bankruptcy. But THQ is remembered, and they do have a cult following. They had a really good run for what they were, and didn't flat out fail miserably like their other toy-turned-video game publisher LJN did.
@brianjl74774 жыл бұрын
I watched Time Trax! It came out on the PTEN package with Babylon 5 and Kung Fu: The Legend Continues. It premiered very close to when Deep Space Nine also came out. The show was basically a watered down Timecop where he came back in time and could shoot the fugitives with a tag that could send them back to the future. His zapper thing was disguised as a keyfob for his car- very high-tech at the time! I didn't even know it had a game.

Video title is incorrect. Should be: "I Ranked Every THQ game on SNES"
@tomwaters50904 жыл бұрын
I didn't know THQ was a toy company I related to a toy company but it makes sense now because most of their games were about the same level as LJN but for some reason it gets less crap and less hate than LJN even though most of their game library is about on the same level as LJN.
@ImagineABear4 жыл бұрын
Both pushed out a lot of licensed games, but THQ found a nice little formula of making games that were 'safe' and not exactly groundbreaking. LJN was around when there wasn't exactly a formula to be had.
@tomwaters50904 жыл бұрын
@@ImagineABear THQ really didn't have a formula a lot of their games were about the same as ljn I I think they had the same level of success and failures that ljn did. I think for the most part all their games were about this the same as LJN they had a few successes but mostly failures.
@tomwaters50904 жыл бұрын
@@ImagineABear hold on i wanted to add to the last response I put out here because THQ as a gaming company lasted a whole lot longer than ljn because I looked up to see what people thought their top ten games were in a lot of them were from the 2000s like 2007 some of them were I don't know when exactly they closed their doors. And if some of the later games they made were just their name that was being used by another company that had bought them until they just retired the name .

A lot of people forget how rough THQ was back in the day, and I suppose it's not a huge surprise, since the company was founded by the same person who founded LJN. He was apparently a really nice guy who did a lot for kids. I might be that one person who actually liked the first Home Alone game; there was something about collecting all of the things, depositing them in the basement, and locking them up safe. Maybe that's the OCD talking, and maybe that says a lot more about me than the game, but I enjoyed it. The Lawnmower Man VR sections were neat, but I'd seen a similar thing in Thunder Blade on the SMS (scaling not nearly as smooth, of course) back in the day, so it didn't completely blow my mind; never saw the movie, believe it or not. Time Trax is a game I don't know very well, but the PAL Genesis version was my gateway drug, so to speak, into SEGA Genesis music as a whole; I even had a Genesis back in the day, but wasn't really into the music other than Sonic until that, so it's a really neat game to me. I don't remember the show at all, but the OST is definitely worth a listen; just avoid the NTSC (60hz) version, since that sounds like bad '90s aerobic music.

I miss renting games and snes, a trip to the video store was like my favorite thing to do. EB games and the like have that cold corporate feeling, there was always that video store that felt like home, that was close to fast food and liqour. They were really cool, like when you rented consoles or vcrs they would give you a cool black case or something similiar to transport it in. I have an idea for ranking videos that I would like to see as a long time fan of Caveman games, you should pop out a ranking of Multitap and similiar device games on how good of a multiplayer game they were. With the recent success of Among Us, it really makes me jones for some party play!
