Something to note about Jiae's debut love is love (#84 here) is that after she came out as bisexual, she couldn't find a company to sign her! Korea is a conservative country and it's very difficult to be out as lgbtq+ there She ended up crowdfunding the debut and handling most things with just herself and a few others! I'm excited to see where she goes in the future and I hope she gets the support she needs :)

Ah, Rie is from the group OnlyOneOf, and each of the six members had a solo debut, split into three pairs, so their music videos complemented each other. I would absolutely recommend listening to the other solos, they're all quite different, and it's nice to see the variety of music that the group can make well.

For me personally, I think Lapillus deserved a better debut in a way. •I liked their first comeback of Gratata a little bit more compare to their debut of Hit Ya! *I like that the members get a chance to showcase their vocals more than they did for Hit Ya! *I do like watching their Hit Ya! performances and choreography though. Overall, this is a pretty accurate ranking! I did want to give some info about Superkind because I love those boys and there are so many misconceptions about them. I am not disagreeing with your ranking of their debut as everyone prefers different music, just clearing up their concept: 1. Basically, the AI member - Saejin - has been in development since 2017-18, and the other four members - Geon, Eugene, Daemon and Sio - knew what they were getting into. He is partly animated, but he's actually played by another real member of the group wearing a motion-capture suit. Speculated reasons for this member not showing his face but instead being represented by the AI are privacy reasons or maybe he just wanted to be the cool robot lol. 2. Superkind will not be doing music shows, albums, or possibly even concerts, as their concept is that they are more of a game rather than a traditional "group" (the fandom name is even Players!). There are 5 real boys and 5 AI represented boys (all 10 individual members, the 5 AIs wearing mocap suits), and they will join later, like new players joining the game (the 5th real boy, JDV, and the 2nd AI boy, Seung, have since been revealed). 3. Their story is that in the future, society has split into 2 warring factions - Prid and Nuke. The real boys are Prid (more traditional) and Saejin is Nuke (more advanced). The fans can take the official quiz, receive their faction alignment + class, and then join the official discord, where we can sometimes talk with the idols themselves!

Love the trend of people re-debuting in groups as a second chance, I really hope it keeps happening! But at the same time, the Omega X situation has made me extremely wary of these small companies with no money that are trying to take advantage of these kids's ambitions and desperation to re-debut and might treat them badly, not pay them, abuse them, etc.

I had the same reaction to a few of these, to me the GOT song is great, I have no idea how it wouldn't end up on a playlist. As a debut, it wasn't a traditional debut, but the musicality of the song is interesting, grabs you, and has amazing singing. I won't speak to the lyrics, which were....disappointing, but no more than "The Boy is Mine". For me, GOT is a B tier, and Le Serrafim was a solid A, I love their debut song too. Its a personal opinion, of course.

I appreciate these videos from you every single year. It is SO MUCH WORK to sit through all these debuts in a row and yet you make it entertaining and cute and I'm sure your videos help a lot of people find some underrated debuts that they might have missed. Which is why it makes me all the more sad to see that you somehow seemed to have skipped the best (in my opinion) boygroup debut of the year, TAN's DU DU DU. I think this song is so interesting and different from this monotone sound landscape that we're sometimes in with boygroups and if there is one group that debuted this year that DEFINITELY needs more love and more eyes on them, it's TAN. But overall, I really love these videos every year. I am a bit of a full-time kpop victim multi stan, so I had heard of MOST of these lol, but I still found a handful I'd not heard of and that sound promising, especially the more ballad-y type songs, which I usually don't seek out on my own.

I don't know how to explain it but I find Kep1er Wa Da Da and NMIXX O.O. weirdly catchy, it's kind of like a guilty pleasure for me. *I do understand why some people don't like these songs. *Also, I like to see both groups dance performances of these songs.

I think that we have to look at them in terms of what they showcased. Its kind of like "Are you wearing the dress, or is the dress wearing you?" where the Kep1er and NMIXX songs were too much for debut groups. While I am a huge fan of the GOT "Step Back" song (not the lyrics, but eh), I do understand that as a debut song, it was almost too much. Whereas a song like Eleven, Attention, 28 Reasons or POP! really showcase the "debutants". I hope that makes sense. I do think that, to understand this a bit better, Ploopy should change the titles of their sections because they were not just ranking them by the song, but the entire showcase (MV, dance, visual) but their sections didn't state that.

In S tier i put Newjeans debut 1rst who saved 2022 with bop to bop, i love Ditto their b-side pre-release in December, their dance is so fun, Newjeans really change Kpop, even with their 1rst comeback it's so deep storyline driving! then i put Limelight - starlight and eyes to eyes song, Smiley by Yena, J-hope debut, Shutdown by Class:y, Hit ya by Lapillus

I forget which one but a group I was following (I think Kep1er) was doing music show stages at the same time and I wanted to see if the unknown groups were any good and I stumbled upon H1-key. The MV was good quality, Riina was on produce 48 and the song is very catchy

You should probably do a video on future idol. I noticed that in this year and last years videos, many of the groups that were in here were all under future idol and they also share many similar members because of it. It’s basically a kids group that’s kinda similar to akb (?) and tripleS where essentially they made a bunch of subunits of girls aged 12-20, give the unit a name and it lasts about a month or so. I looked them up and they’ve had smth like 20 units and they’re all pretty low quality. You should do a deep dive video into companies like this and why it doesn’t work (not the reference groups they do well but when it’s focused on trying to make a kids group with that concept)

Hey Ploppy ... I came across the #8 song in this list by Yena (the Yabuki Nako's Korean Twin in I*Zone) and her debut song Smiley 😊. It is so damn good. I would listen to that over and over again, that listen to anything dished out by Big 3!. And her follow-up Smartphone was also amazing. See, that is why you never know where you might stumble upon great songs. Will dig up some more in time. Again.. thanks for bringing this song to my notice.

I'm at the 80 song mark So far I've agreed with you or your co host in most of your decisions... except for Wadada and O.O but I love songs with good choreos and these two have some of the best kpop dance in public covers I've seen this year so I'm biased I'm intrigued with your BBC video, I hope you get in contact with some orbits about the boycott, it was so well organized and everyone is staying so strong, I'm so proud of the community and so far with messages from the two girls that are still talking with us on FAB (Hyunjin and Vivi) it seems they support the boycott too.
