The basis of the problem here is misogyny in society, tomohiro is basically an incel, he doesn't love women, he blames them for his own incompetence, the police and society in general tend to minimize situations like stalking because of the misogyny that permeates them, and therefore the perpetrators feel morally correct.

@@Fizzyguy201Sonicguy6 Self-described incels are men who like to rant about women in internet groups, accusing them of only choosing one type of man, handsome and successful, leaving other men with no chance of having a relationship; they blame women for not being able to have sex, so they call themselves involuntary celibates. Some are even violent.
@rolismous9783
@rolismous9783 2 жыл бұрын
@@Fizzyguy201Sonicguy6 It's abbreviation of "involuntary celibate" meaning they want to get laid but can't because of society not handing women over to every man (the only solution according to them is r3pe). They are (usually) men who complain online that they cannot get any attention from women and blame it on anything you can imagine, like every woman being shallow/gold digger while they are poor, on their genetics (being short, ugly, etc.), on their race and skin color no matter what that is. On other men with "superior genetics" that "steal" the women from them. The real reason of course is them being hateful and delusional online and in real life like that guy on the video. They are also usually obsessed with purity (like that guy also) going as far as targeting minors since there's a higher chance for her to be still a virgin.

This is so horrifying, and I hope Mayu fully gets the justice she deserves. These poor idols are pressured into accepting these presents and favors from toxic fans and then nothing is done to protect them from entitled incels like him. The police are absolutely useless.
@galaxy_kitten95
@galaxy_kitten95 2 жыл бұрын
The police are not only useless, they are also completely incompetent, as well as the overall Japanese justice system. 14 years is literally a slap on the wrist. 14 years for attempted murder to the first degree essentially. Mayu's concerns are of course more than valid. This man needs to have a 35+ year life sentence with no possibility of parole. There's no doubt in my mind that after his 14 years are up, he will repeat the same tendencies once again. This time acting in full retaliation towards Mayu to "finish the job" or even another idol. Its really disgusting how if a victim has been killed despite their efforts to get their stalkers reported prior, is when Japan starts to reconsider the laws and try to put them into effect. Put them into effect now so there won't be anymore innocent individuals to fall victims to these acts.

What the hell dude, maybe you could look at Kim Jaejoong and see how he was stalked by his sasaengs for 12 years because the police didn't find women stalking men threatening.... His fans entered his apartment countless times just searche for it on the internet, and he reported them, once even for sexual harassment as they touched him while he was sleeping, but the police always told him that they were just curious fans and he should be more understanding, or that they did it because they loved him and he is petty for calling police on them!!! 🤯 Stalking is always difficult to prove, in all cases, man stalking women, man stalking man, but also woman stalking man and woman stalking woman. It's not like that men are always prioritized, it's just that there are a lot more cases with men stalking women so obviously there are more cases that ended up tragically too, but trust me, the police sucks in both protecting men and women, so yeah, I don't know in which country you're living in but just like she said, the world is no just black and white.

*trigger warning: stalking, threats of violence* I was a victim of physical stalking in high school at the young age of 15. I broke up with a boy because he threatened to kill me more than once. He then spammed me with social media messages describing how he would murder me and how fun it would be. I told my mother and we went to the school with screenshots . Including ones where he threatened to follow me around school and push me down the stairs once we were alone in the stairwell! Appropriate action was taken. His reputation was ruined and he never bothered me again. My suffering is no where near the level of Mayu's and I realize I am lucky. I do share Mayu's concerns. I think it is very likely that with her attacker's history, he could come after her again or hurt someone else. I hope the Japanese government makes serious reforms to prevent cases like these.

I can understand why stalking or harassing someone online might not seem threatening, but what I don’t understand is why anyone would take the chance. Even if it doesn’t turn violent, someone is still being stalked and harassed which is terrifying for the victim to constantly be afraid of being online and being paranoid 24/7 that the stalker will come after them in person. That’s not something authorities should just brush under the rug. And I think social media should have been included with emails. Obviously email isn’t social media, but it’s an online way of communication, so it should have been lumped together from the beginning to prevent this from happening, but it, unfortunately, just goes to show how stalking isn’t taken as seriously as it should be

The initial stalking cases were let go because the police couldn't be bothered to investigate nor does it assure them a win. Why does Japan have such a shitty justice system? Especially when it comes to crimes against women?! It literally took murderers of innocent women for the government to expand guidelines on stalking. That is just so infuriating! And don't get me started on Junko Furuta's case. This girl was beaten, raped, burned, tortured and made to experience a living hell until her murder! And in the end the boys responsible only got ,I believe 5 to 8 years. The worst being a 20 year sentence! That shocked me! Hopefully Japan is doing something to change that.

Its a patriarchal society. Its one of the countries with the least protection for women worldwide, even worse than developing nations. It is also because they are too traditional to the point that they still have outdated laws and culture such as that wives belong in the house and are expected to resign from work. Perhaps this is one downside of an aging society Their rape law is also anti women. A woman is only considered to have been raped if she was unconscious and couldn't give consent. Struggling isn't enough. Lack of struggle is considered consent. Considering how they treated women during WWII, I'm not surprised at their treatment of rape victims but at the same time, considering its one of the richest and advance nations at present time, it is shocking

I was a victim of stalking. I was friends with this girl in high school. She was the quiet kid and I'm very bubbly and hate seeing people alone, so I wanted to befriend her. We began hanging out at school and would interact for about 6 months before I felt something was off. It seemed like everywhere I went there she was. I didn't think anything of it because we were always in school and she was my friend. But it got to the point where I'd see her in the bathroom two seconds after I got in, and would leave after I was done. When I hung out with my other friends she tried to get me away from them. This was my first experience with this so I didn't know what to do. My mom was also in Ghana at the time so I wasn't sure if this was a serious enough issue to call her over. The breaking point was when I begun seeing her on the same walking path I'd usually take to school when I never saw her there before. I got creeped out and my friends warned me to tell a teacher. So I did. It did not end well. My mom had just come back so she came to the school to support me. The principal, school guidance counselor, school liaison, my mom, her mom, her and me all went into the office. The second they started discussing what the meeting was for she started flipping out, trying to attack the liaison and me for "breaking up with her". That was a level of fear I hadn't felt before then. She was hysterical. That day my mom transferred me out of that school and threatened a restraining order against her. Haven't seen her since.

We knew who it was ever since about a year before that during winter, we saw footsteps in the snow in front of our bedroom and found a phone lying there. The guy had to pick it up here himself, and earlier on we haf transferred some pictures of him to our phones in case we needed it and once we realised that there was someone snooping around, we put up security cams and lo and behold, it was the same guy. This creep would put coins into the blinds to keep the slits open to watch me and we only found out after finding these coins in front of the windows and in the blinds (I had felt watched and uneasy for a while which was blamed on me watching true crime 🙄) Nothing was done by police even though we collected the coins, the footage, the vodka bottles he emptied

when i was a freshman in high school, there was a creepy guy who would follow me all around the school. eventually it started really freaking me out, and i got worried he would follow me to my bus and be able to figure out where i live. thankfully he stopped after i told my counselor about it, but i can't imagine being in the situation where your concerns are not taken seriously. in my opinion, there needs to be harsher sentences for this type of crime because more often than not, these people will be released from jail and do the same things they did before, because as you said, jail time won't get rid of someone's obsessive personality; if i was mayu, i would be terrified of what he might do when he's released. in the end, though, jail time won't reverse the permanent physical and mental damage he caused mayu. i can't imagine how that feels for her.

If he was pissed that she returned gifts and didn’t return SOME of them, just imagine how mad he’s gonna be when he’s out. Once a psycho always a psycho. I was a stalker once I guess, although, by today standard, its probably considered normal. I just keep some of my crush pics and find excuse to message her. She's a wary person naturally I guess, all her social medias are private. We never chat until we got into the same college accidentally. So naturally I find an excuse to chat with her, saying 'I have leftover textbooks, would you like to have it for free?' which she thanked me and told me she already had all her textbooks, and asked where I get her number. It kinda make me feel so ashamed I deleted all her pics and stop contacting her all together. I just wished we can be friends, but if she's wary, then hell yeah Im keeping my distance eventhough it hurts like hell cuz it's what she want. it sucks she was my first girl crush too... But while my stalkerish actions came from 'love' which turns into a little too much obsessions... The different between me and this guy is that I respect her as human being. She is a very private person, no doubt having an ex classmate who never talk to her suddenly messaged her make her wary. So I cut all contact and didn't pursue further. He didn't respect Mayu, never did.

A similar situation happened to me, but reversed. When I was in middle school, there was this one boy, who I will call Eddie, that claimed that I was stalking him. I did know who he was because he was popular, but we weren’t friends, we just had some classes together. One of his friends came up to me one day and told me that I should stop stalking him or else they’ll tell the principal. That friend of his was a bully to me so I disregarded it as a cruel joke, but day by day, more of his friends came up to me and started threatening me with violence to stop stalking Eddie. Eventually I started telling them that I wasn’t stalking him and I even said I wanted to talk to Eddie himself to set the record straight but they refused to let me go near him. Eventually though I had the chance to talk to him without his friends around and I told him that I wasn’t stalking him. Then he said something like “You follow me home every single day! Don’t think I don’t see you! I’ve seen you at the grocery store sometimes too and I’ve even seen you at restaurants! You’re everywhere that I go!” I told him that I only go where my parents go because I wasn’t allowed to be left alone and I told him that I never followed him home once. Eddie and his friends continued to harass me and at one point they began to lock me in the bathroom stalls in between classes so I wouldn’t “follow” Eddie to his next class. I was the one who went to the principal in the end and I told him what I was being accused of. My parents and Eddie’s parents met with the principal, and it turned out that Eddie and I lived in the same neighborhood, and our parents shopped at the same grocery stores and went to the same restaurants because they were near our houses. Eddie kept claiming that I was obsessed with him and that he wanted me removed from the school. Later on I found out that he had some kind of mental illness where he believed that every girl that he had interacted with had a crush on him or was obsessed with him (If someone knows the name of it please let me know) I figured he most likely thought that was the case with me since he saw me basically everywhere. But the situation really had an effect on me because even though I knew I wasn’t stalking him, I felt like everyone else would start to think I was disgusting and bully me even more for it

I have been stalked by a still unknown man when I was around twelve-thirteen years old. It's the scariest thing I've ever lived, especially when you are so young and you can't really do anything about that. The stalker had actually talked to me and a friend I was going to school with at that time one morning, saying stuff like "you girls should be more careful, I could have kidnapped both of you if I wanted to". Following that, we went to the police which gave us a personal number to call if we ever saw him again. I never got any answers from those calls. A year later, the school I was going to issued a statement saying to all young girls of the school to be very careful around morning and noon time because a man was following them to their houses. My mom was so scared for me that she almost didn't want me to go to school at that time. I've never had any news after that, I assume he either stopped or was arrested, but the fact that we were multiple underaged girls saying this, I wish the police would have taken us seriously as well.

I also have been a victim of stalking by a man who used to come to my uncles workshop. This man literally watched me grow up. At the time we lived in a family yard. We ended up moving when I was in high school and it wasn’t until I was in college I met this man again. Long story short he’d follow me daily and it got to a point where he’d wait at a corner in his car and follow me. I remember getting off the bus one evening since I had late classes on one specific day and seeing his vehicle. I ignored thinking I was overreacting until I reached my lane. This set me on edge and I told my mom. She ended up telling my uncle and grandma and I guess my uncle might have had an altercation with him because the next time I saw him in the road it was as if I didn’t even exist and ever since then never saw him again

If there is a person I know of that really got someone serious problems with stalking, it's Kim Jaejoong. He even ended up reporting some of them for sexual harassment and as you have seen in this video, the police didn't do any better in his case either. He was a guy, they were women, so what's threatening about some random woman entering your apartment, right? Luckily, except for the trauma he received after going through this for many years, nothing else happened. Not even to mention that him and TVXQ in general is more popular in Japan than anywhere else… this is giving me chills… 😣 He talked about some of the things on Naver NOW’s “Nighttime Workshop", here is what he said: "I would receive these photo messages. They would be pictures of my living room, bedroom, and kitchen spaces. But what’s worse is that I would be photographed in those pictures! Get it? These overly… obsessive and passionate ‘fans’ would enter my house, tiptoe around to take pictures of me, and leave. Then they would send the pictures to me. Who knows how they figured out my phone number? It used to give me chills. So I always had to change the key and door lock and everything. I moved into this one apartment building. They moved into another one right across the street. I’m serious! They got a unit that is directly across and on the same floor level as mine! And from there, they would stare at me all day. I don’t know if they leased the place or what, but yeah. They kept watching and watching. And I had originally picked that unit because of the nice terrace. I ended up not being able to use it once because anytime I would be on the terrace, I would be stared down." "It was really late at night. I had all the lights off so I could sleep. Then, all of a sudden, I hear my doorbell. Ding-dong. And I wondered who it could be, because it was so late. I checked the door cam to see who’s there. But no one was there. I went back to my room, only to hear the bell again. I checked the cam to see no one there. This repeated a couple times. So eventually I decided to open the door. It was weird because I could only open my door partially. That’s when I saw someone’s leg. I got so frightened that I slammed the door. When I opened it again, no one was there. I looked around the area, including down the emergency staircase. I heard people running down. So I sprinted and chased them down. When I caught them, I recognized them as some of my most notorious stalkers. I decided this went way over the line so I called the police to report them. But… the police at the time told me they’re my fans and so I should forgive them. He told me I’m ‘petty for calling the cops on them when they’re just curious fans.’ Yeah. A couple of days after getting the police involved, I had the same thing happen again. So I figured it’s the same sasaengs who have returned. But this time, they began getting aggressive with my door knob. They started rattling it as if trying to enter. I was horrified. That’s right around when the movie Hide And Seek came out. I watched that, and for the first time since I debuted, I was paralyzed in my sleep. This might sound like I’m paranoid but I used to have a lot of vehicles too and that was because of all the stalking. Every time I got a car, the sasaengs would find out and follow. So I tried to switch it up to confuse them. It never really worked. So I started moving every two years. New cars and new homes didn’t help cut out the stalking though. Once, I ordered food at home. The delivery person showed up, but with a baseball cap pushed down so far down the face I could barely see the eyes. When I tried to pay though, the person glared at me underneath the cap. Then this person asked, ‘Do you recognize me?’ And so I asked if I should and the person kept asking like, ‘Are you sure you don’t know who I am?’ So I said I didn’t know and the person went, ‘Oh. Is that so?’ Then the delivery person got on the elevator… and as I yelled, ‘What’s your problem?’ the person smirked at me. Isn’t that the creepiest thing?! So I felt threatened. This person knows where I live now! Right? I called the restaurant and explained what happened. I asked to get some information about the delivery person who just dropped off the food for me. Guess what the restaurant told me? They said the person had just quit and left. So the delivery to my house was the last one. Oh my goodness, I was so scared. What if the person comes back to my place?! I honestly thought to myself, ‘This kind of stuff only happens in movies.’ It took 12 years, but it did end. I no longer have to move. I also sold all my cars. I’m finally free and I’m really glad that it’s all over. I can walk around my neighborhood and everything. So happy." I'm happy for you too Jaejoong, even though I sometimes feel like punching you in the face for what you've done to Yunho and Changmin, but no one shout go through this, I hope that the police would start taking both physical and SNS stalking more seriously!!!

I live in Japan and I was stalked by a man living in the same apartment building as me. Reported to the police a couple of times but they said that they couldn't do anything about it since I and/or the property wasn't harmed by him... Did I need to die first so that the police could take action?? It was infuriating because they actually caught the person, questioned him for a bit and just sent him back to his room... I couldn't take it anymore bcs I was literally afraid to go out even in broad daylight because he would be just there waiting for me in the elevator or in the hallway, so I ended up moving out. I was fortunate enough because I had extra savings (moving in Japan is frickin expensive), I just can't imagine what other people have to go through if they don't have the same choice as I did...

His demand for her to return his stuffs is just an excuse for him to have more contact with her. He keep using his stuffs given to her as a blackmail, and when she returned some of them (which she still keep, who tf keep rotting flowers? If Im Mayu I already throw away the magazines, its clear that she keep all gifts she is able to keep.), He is pissed. Damned if she do, damned if she don't. He's just unhinged.

Mayu is honestly the bravest person I have ever heard of. I hope she is doing a lot better now. I personally never been stalked, but an ex-friend of mine told another old friend (who I talk to sometimes. I just don't consider them a friend) that she'd start stalking me. I was honestly so terrified that I thought she was serious. I mean, who in their right mind would "joke" about a serious crime like stalking? My old friend actually told me about this which made me aware of it. I already had trouble going to school due to mental health problems but that was just thr icing on the cake for me. I was so paranoid that my ex-friend would actually begin stalking me that when I did have the courage to go to school, I'd be looking at the hallway whenever the next period began. (I wasn't going to classes, I was in a part of the school where I didn't have to go to lessons. The school just wanted me in, and they'd do anything to get me into school). Anyway, it turns out she was just "joking" about stalking me. Honestly, I never even saw the red flags while being friends with her, now I see them even when I just hear her name. Hearing this story just reminded me of my "experience"

cyberstalking is scary and real as I took it by experience with some individuals who got obsessed over me and wanted to be my friend and unfortunately, with Mayu's experience people didn't recommend me to contact with the police in these troubled individuals but thankfully, a lot of them were gone and one probably went to a mental facility and I am watching this video to learn more of the psychology of those individuals. Everyone deserves the right to be treated with respect and those who have stalkerish symptoms need real help and I like the idea of a "stalker registry" and stalker reform that could be done for people like those individuals. Strength and prayers for Mayu Tomita in all of this.
