Hey man, I just wanted to say that even if it feels like you're just feeding an algorithm, your videos and content reach us. All the crazy builds you've highlighted over the years are what inspired me to get a project car, and your latest series has been super relatable and just a real look at how projects go. Please keep up what you're doing, because I want to share the final product when it's done.

Yeah, maybe try growing your life instead of your channel. Bigger projects. Start companies for merchandise. Hold car meets and raffles. There's a lot of things In this world available for someone with the reach to a large audience. We're all looking for something more than a single guy talking about cars. We want action, more people to watch, and races! Builds and races. Turbochargers on Lambos, etc.

Yo man, its not weak at all to comunicate with your followers what you're going through. I am one of the multitude of youtubers inspired by your work, and just the fact that 10+ years on you are still here, relevant and with an awesome reputation speaks a lot about you and your career. With that said, I do believe that you can get help and upgrade both your thumbnail art AND get some help with your titles. i.e: the S13 coyote series I believe would do way better with other titles, I click every single video just because I have been waiting for that project for a long ass time, but if it werent for that, I honestly wouldnt know it was a series about a Coyote swapped s13 done by you. But hang in there my man, your love and takes are gladly welcome and always a good video to see. Best wishes, Hans - Co-Owner of this channel.

We're all here for you, David. It's been a challenging year for many of us. I began watching your videos in 2014 during a tough time, and they truly lifted my spirits, drawing me deeper into the car community. Your influence led me to buy my 2015 Mustang GT seven years ago and my new Oxford White 2020 Mustang GT just two weeks ago. Despite the hardships this year-losing my dad, grandpa, family dog, and totaling my 2020 WRX-I find solace in the belief that things will improve. Amidst the difficulties, I got married to my beautiful wife in Hawaii in May. Moreover, my job is flourishing, and despite the loss of my WRX, I'm excited that I replaced it with an awesome Mustang GT. Thanks for being a source of inspiration during both the highs and lows.

Extremely strong video brother, to be this transparent with the issues you collided with and prevailed through. You have a rare talent most people cant put into words. To have such a welcoming energy, while teaching so much in even in the worst moments. Many people would have fell to the pressure and self expectations a long time ago. Even with the coyote swap project, I will always support your work because its always genuine and shows men how to keep it honest with themselves in order to prevail against hardships in life. Huge respect for the personal depth you put on this where even I, myself personally dont think I could be that honest to the world.

The level of excellence that is put into your work, please don't allow that to lower your expectation of viewers or your expectation of how much it can generate. You're great at what you do and as you know, this side of being a business has its ups and downs. In my experience; when it rains, it pours. When it pours, brace for the monsoon. Dude, it's been a ROUGH year here, too. Illness, financial woes...name it. The amount of money (it's OBSCENE) we've put in our 13 year old's mouth this year alone has nearly broke us by itself. We've been trying to get our own toxic shower renovated for 4 years now, but I'll be damned if there isn't ALWAYS something else that comes up. Unlike you, I'm an eternal pessimist. Life has beat me into one. I think a big part of what drew me to your videos all those years ago was your upbeat and positive attitude. In a culture that has gotten so toxic, and where people are so freaking awful to each other now; your positivity and kind spirit have always been refreshing. Keep your head up, Dude. It's all transient.

David, you're going to get hundreds of responses of people being supportive. We've all been there in one form or another. I'm only a few years younger than you and I feel like I've had to change my "life plans" 3 or 4 times. I went from monetized on youtube and graduating college with a plan, to now selling my Mustang to pay for unexpected debt. I've changed careers 3 times in 3 years. Taking the first step is the hardest, but that hard work and determination is how you got to this level in the first place! You will get through this, we won't let you fail!

I pray you succeed bro. As a 31 year old man it is so extremely hard these days to make it financially and keep your sanity in the process. My advice is the very next opportunity you have, take a vacation. Even if it's just a weekend getaway to a favorite peaceful spot and focus on how far you've come and how hard you've fought. Let it give you strength brother. You've been a shining example of what a wholesome good man can achieve. My prayers are with you. You've got this! I can't wait to see the full Drift Car Series. Sales is tough man, which is essentially what KZbin is. The ebb and flow of those highs and lows is enough to crush people. Being approachable and personable are things you can't teach and you have that. You naturally have a skill set that most people don't. Don't be afraid to deligate smaller stuff to others so you can do what you do best which is be on camera. Also, never be afraid to ask for help, whether it's personally or occupational. People care about you and want you to succeed so let them help.

You know, I've been coming here for a decade now to connect with you about cars, which have always been important to me. I rewatch so many of your reviews every year because they genuinely bring me joy. But this video? I resonated hard with this. I'm also in a funk where it feels like the rain won't stop no matter how hard I try to stay positive. My beloved Veloster N, which I bought because of your review of SXTH Element's, is potentially totaled from a hit and run. The person got away and I might lose my favorite car I've ever had. My dad is currently battling an incurable cancer. My channel has also been a huge struggle to grow because what I do is so niche. All of that to say, from the shoes of a guy who can absolutely relate to you in this time of hardship, you gotta keep fighting, David. You've put way too much dedication into this channel and positively impacted way too many lives to lose your way. I believe that it is how we handle ourselves during the bad times, not the good ones, that really defines who we are as people. You are the man. I'm about to go spam likes down your entire video log to help. Hang in there!

My friend I just want to say your content , mainly Mustang (SMURF) have helped me through very challenging times. I’m quite a bit older but have put the weight of the world on my shoulders as well. Started my own business 35 years ago and decided to pay back with both volunteer and starting a charity for the welfare of the animals (horses) that helped me achieve respect of others in my field. Then lost my dad and sister within a year or so of each other. Time to buckle down again and help with family representation and all that goes along with that. Getting back on the topic though…support of friends and colleagues helped immensely. Now that things have settled, it was time to do something for myself. After months of searching and evaluating, I found a ‘me’ project. A 2014 Mustang GT that was cared for like I care for my horses. Bone stock and again, cherished by a man that bought mustangs every 10 years since 1964-1/2. So keep up the good work and the incredibly interesting and talented auto and life content. I worked in a shop 45 years ago just oil changes and balancing tires for the most part but watched, asked and listened. Looking forward to the next chapter which includes watching your videos and learning from a very talented young man. Peace. Happy New Year and roll on!

Will be praying for your family member. You've definitely been through the ringer this year. I totally understand feeling like the only thought in your head is "oh great, what's next." But think on the bright side of all the awesome cars you've gotten to drive, people you've gotten to meet and friends that I'm sure you've made. The stress of being your own boss and knowing that your ability to live relies on what you produce is real. I think all full time KZbinrs and Business Owners feel that looming in the back of their minds. You should be extremely proud of the community you've built. You got people like me into cars who otherwise probably would've never cared about them, or made the friends I've made. I'm glad you felt comfortable enough to bring someone else on board to help lighten your load. It's always a risk letting someone do a job for you and hoping they put the same level of effort and meeting your standards, but it seems to be paying off. Excited to see what 2024 brings.

I'm Going to start off with I love the content you post, I've been following the channel since before Smurf. Meeting you at Ford fest this year was a blast and I get the whole depression thing, it's not easy and people saying you'll get through it and don't give up doesn't always help relive the symptoms from it, that being said I hope things get better for you. The whole of last year I went through watching my mom decline from cancer. Going thru the treatment working to one screw up from a nurse and ending everything. I have supported DTC from the first time I found out about it and now I have a much bigger connection after mom passed away this last January and I always rep the Group at any event I go to. You were one of the channels that helped me throughout the year. I got to meet people I never thought I would meet at Ford Fest. I would love to have you check out the my car once I get it fixed and the new transmission setup in if its up your alley. Also I just want to say thank you for being who you are. Stay Awesome

I love and appreciate you man. Your transparency means a lot, and there’s no shame in talking about your feelings. You’re human, we def get that. I’ve been here since the beginning, and I’ve always LOVED your content. You’ve helped me open my eyes to so many builds I thought I’d never appreciate. You’ve got this dude!

You guys definetely need to hit that like button. The view-to-like ratio is wayyyy off on TDIB's videos. Even the 100k view videos have like 4k likes but that should not at all be the case. And youtube doesn't push videos that don't have likes.

Thank you so much, as someone who’s going to start posting KZbin videos soon I see this more as a warning than anything to not give so much power to social media. For me I view it as an additional tool to help build my business. But we can very easily let it control us. Thank you for being so open.

Bro....I'm 48, and I've been a motorcycle guy for the majority of my life. Your channel popped into my recommended vids about 5 or 6 years ago, and I've been a car guy ever since. Your passion for fast, fun driving cars grabbed my attention in a major way. I always liked cars, but never loved them. Watching you enjoy driving and modding Smurrf and various friends cars made me want to feel what you felt. YOU....are why i bought my 1st Mustang GT. YOU....are why i modded said vehicle. YOU...are why i purchased 2 additional projects (one finished and given to my daughter....the other is still in progress) to enjoy building. YOU...are why i can't stop, and have brought my 12 yr old son into the car world as well. Thank you for what you've done, and continue to do. The algorithm is screwed, and you've taken a hit. Don't let it get to you. In my 48 yrs of life, I've learned this..... In order to become the best version of yourself that is attainable.....you NEED a great TEAM that sees and supports your vision. You can only go so far solo. Build your team, and there is no limit to how far you can take it. I wish the best for you in this new year bro. Stay grounded, stay focused, and keep pushing.

Your value is greater than an algorithm... I watched your mazdaspeed3 reviews years ago... I trusted your opinion on these vehicles because I felt like you thought like a car guy and not a talking head. You convinced me to buy not just a brand... not just a car... but a particular model as well. I even met you in person at Import alliance in GA a few years ago and thanked you for introducing me to a car. Your content isn't an algorithm you're a car guy with a heart and a mind of what we all love. I would sit down and watch these reviews and think man I'd love for him to review my 400whp subaru Baja that's lifted. Like goofy car goofy mods sounds right up his alley. You are an admiration not an algorithm. Thanks for all you do... seriously from all of us.

David I am so happy to still be able to follow along with you after all these years. It's great finally getting to see the coyote swap. The wait only makes the reveal all the better. And yes there is nothing wrong with telling folks how you're doing. Me personally I click on those videos more than your "regular content". Want you to be getting the success you deserve and it sucks you've had such bad luck with the algorithms for so long. But just remember you have built a community and we aren't going anywhere if you need some time off just take it. We'll still be here. Maybe, you'll come up with some new content idea after a break that'll take the algorithm by storm. But either way like someone else said too, there are lots of us who have bought cars or gotten into cars because of you. Me included. So please keep on keeping on and be happy with all things you've done already and I hope to meet you in person one day and show you my 2014 grabber blue mustang gt you inspired me to build ;)

You were the first automotive KZbinr I ever watched way back in the day like many others that watched the Jasmine and Nessa Evo’s and I’ve been a “silent viewer” ever since (I realize that term sounds weird, but idk how else to explain it lol). I’ve always enjoyed your content and your creative approach to the platform and how much you express yourself both verbally and creatively. You have always expressed a positivity in your videos not only through your personality, but also to the automotive world and it made me enjoy the atmosphere of car culture even more. You’ve been through a lot of challenges and while it is good to always express those positive instances throughout your journey, it is good to also express the negative aspects as well. I am sorry for all the troubles you’ve gone through lately and I hope that things get better because you absolutely deserve it! You are an amazing content creator and person that has had such a positive impact not only for me, but for many others in the automotive community. We are always here for you and will support you the best way we can. I am glad you’ve sought out help, and I think that is a huge positive step especially since you’ve been doing this solo for so many years. It’s always good to get help and there is no shame in asking for help. Sometimes we need help in order for us to grow to be the best versions of our selves. I hope 2024 treats you well and is filled with plenty more ups than downs and thank you for almost a decade of some of my personal favorite automotive content and I can’t wait to see where you go in the new year!

We're all human, David, and life comes at all of us with many ups and downs. You're a beautiful soul and a down to earth person. You're never alone my friend and we the car community support you so much! I have seen so many Facebook account issues among friends, and I know they have no support structure by "actual hoomans" to talk to. Stay strong and feel loved, because you are! Best wishes into the New Year Brother! 👊🏽

Glad you’re still around, you’re one of the automotive KZbinrs I’ve been watching the longest, which shouldn’t be a surprise since you’re about as original as it gets, but I’ve gotten lots of enjoyment out of your content, and I’m glad you can be compensated for it at a level that makes it worthwhile for you to do…. *I* don’t want to be a creator, many of us should *not* go down that road, but you’ve always done a great job… keep it up! #runonsentencealert

I think I came across your channel about 8-9 years ago when I was in high school. Saying you inspired me is an understatement. The car reviews was awesome for me to see all kinds of different cars and different ways people modified their cars. I’d say you really fueled the whole “I’m a car enthusiast” in me, enjoying and learning about all kinds of different cars and seeing what’s possible with creativity and pushing platforms to new heights. The biggest thing about all of it was how genuine you seem. Respectful, professional, and genuine. I hope to see you continue a successful KZbin career because I believe you deserve it, and I believe you continue to inspire many others.

It's a new year coming up David! I have been an avid watcher of your content and it motivates me and others in the community to continue our projects. We enjoy the fact that you don't have ALL the money in the world like other car tubers seem to have. You are real, genuine, kind, and don't forget you have a wonderful wife that I can imagine supports you to the stars and back. You don't have to worry about doing uploads non-stop and crazy editing to make your content better. We all love who you are; it would be an absolute pleasure as a 300zxTT owner to meet you someday :D. All the smiles per gallon to you my man!

I think KZbin as a medium is just changing. Audiences from 10 years ago are older and have more things occupying their time, and younger viewers seem to lean towards a different type of content/video than what used to be popular. It makes it tough for older channels, and the algorithm is worse and just buries stuff further down. It sucks. It's hard. I hope you hang in there man, you have a great community and you're a great guy. Getting help is hard, editing and mental health wise, if you can, do both. Happy new year and keep up the work as long as you're able to!

As much as we want to say the right thing we can't understand what you're going through since we don't do what you do. You need to talk to some of your friends in the business like LZ. They will understand and possibly have solutions for you. I'll remember you in my prayers. Luv you guy!
