Sorry, I know this is long overdue!! The lineart for this was done since end of February but March was an insanely busy month for me 😭and I spent a few weeks hosting some very good friends who I hadn't seen in a while! (so I didn't have a whole lot of time to finish it until now haha....) Anyways I'm back to working on vids again!! Yeah, I tend to not take any medicine (except if I got a high fever or a really bad headache ofc) I just take care of myself; sleep, home remedies, eat well, drink lots, airing out the room, if I can manage I get some fresh air. If one takes care of themselves by sleeping and eating well and getting some exercise then they also don't get sick as easily. Naturally there are things that make it rougher, like the job one has or being immunocompromised. (just to clarify: I'm not blaming Emily, that isn't my intention at all)

honestly this is super relatable right now because i also have been sick with a cold for the last few days and my college’s nurse, bless her heart, can’t do much for me besides chuck some vitamin c packets at me and tell me to rest, take long hot showers, and stay hydrated 🥲 (also i struggle with allergies all year around, but especially in spring, so that’s adding to the stuffy head and pain)

There's a few things I miss about school, one of which is how hype being sick was. It's a day of just being able to chill out playing games and sleeping whereas nowadays being sick just gets me behind on lectures and money (nothing like a few semesters of college to violate my bank account). Luckily my body seems to know this because ever since I graduated from high school I don't think I've gotten seriously sick once.

A glass of warm water, Honey, Lemon Juice, and a bit of ginger is a good home remedy for coughs, colds, and anything related to sore throats. My mum use to make it a bunch when I was a kid, not so much now cause shes fully converted to the ease and convienance of medicines but still, good stuff

Yes. I'd either recommend that, or making yourself a Hot Toddy: Chamomile tea, lemon, honey, and a shot of whiskey. Will definitely kill whatever's in your throat and knock you out. Just try not to drink more than one a day!

When I lived in Europe once and while it was ice cold in the winter time I was sick probably 6-8 times during one month period with those bouts of colds lasting 3 days each. A year after that during the winter I got sick twice, and it was due to me not riding the buses so much during the winter time and avoiding crowded areas that have heat since that is generally how someone could get sick when it is cold outside. Plus every region on the planet has their own variations and strains of the cold. Get better soon, this was still a fun video

I want to apologize for how much I laughed during this. also the taking forever to get better due to a bad sleep schedule is so relatable, I work 5-6 days a week bouncing back and forth between evening and overnight shift. (3 evening shifts every week and 2-3 overnight shifts every weekend) hope you feel better.

This unfortunately doesn’t apply when I got physically sick from not having transgender hrt 😭 I had to discretely go out to make money behind my parents back (As a 15 year old, went out window washing) since not having HRT is a literal detriment to you, especially when your brain can function normal otherwise. Pushing myself to get money to at least get CLOSER to getting diyhrt so I can relieve my trans-dysphoria internally (i cared less about how my body looked, more about the incongruence in emotion in my brain), helped get rid of the sickness. I went out to work while being ill from dysphoria. I hate Texas banning hrt for trans minors. If anyone sees this comment, please give me a hug ahaha 🩷

Benadryl (Diphenhydramine) is a wonderful alternate for sleep. The original, "You can't be coughing if you're unconscious." ZzzQuil is quite literally Liquid Benadryl

I know a recipe for a tea that helps a lot. Get a chamomile tea or something lighter like it, then add lime juice and fresh grouded ginger and sweeten it with honey. My wife used to get a sore throat so bad that she wouldn't be able to eat for over a week and when she found out this recipe, it always helped for a fast recovery

Warm drinks with ginger, honey or lemon work wonders for me when my throat is acting up, and the usual stuff like chicken noodle soup or porridge is easy on the throat as well. Throat lozenges are pretty obvious too, but I don't have much experience with them. Either way, hope your nose clears up soon and feel better :D

Yes! Same here! I loved the first, "I recorded this when I was sick" video from 2019 of yours. For the same reasons that others have mentioned also, the specific topics you were talking about. And the way you animated and drawn yourself was better back in 2019. Coincidentally, I was sick last week, I had to deal with not just The Common Cold but also, Pink Eye. The worse of it was the Pink Eye, the whites of my eyes were completely red, extreme itchiness, crusty discharge when I wake up, etc. For some reason to me, its comforting watching a video about a similar situation that you are going through that, the other person is going through. I guess that's why so many people liked your previous video about being sick.

I think what makes the sick videos so enjoyable is that it not only takes a break from the usual high energy of most youtube videos, but it also humanizes the youtuber in a really personal way.
