I Recreated the Nastiest Fan-Designed FNAF Plush + ranking every plush redesign + sewing pattern

I wanted to give a plushmaker's perspective on some of these hypothetical plush redesigns. I made the poor decision to make redesigned FNAF Mangle a reality, but I think the plush turned out pretty cute. Sorry in advance for destroying Five Nights at Freddy's Merchandise, it was necessary sacrifice.
It took me months to finish recreating this fan designed plush by @Bizabizow . Almost all the fabric is minky except for some internal premium felt for support. The nose is a safety plastic nose, and the details are in thick ribbon/thread I found at a fabric store.
Addendum: Thank you all for the support and kind words! As promised, here is the pdf prototype pattern for this plush. Please note it is a rough pattern and details may be off or missing. Sorry bout that- you'll have to get a little creative!

@@batfurs3001 as a fursuit maker, most makers use either expanding foam or medium density upholstery foam (yes the stuff in your sofa), I personally use upholstery because molds aren't really something I'm in need of. It's really versatile, and I highly recommend using it in projects! Just make sure you buy it in the thicker end so you glue less stuff together ^^

The foxy plush isn't fake, but not from funko. It's from a second company, just toys. It's still official, but their plushes can be even more mixed than funko sometimes. The dead giveaway is the eyes. Funkos plush have plush eyes, while just toys often opts for the cheaper plastic eyes.

heyo!! worked on some plushies before and i've found a technique for making those "folded over" details like bonnie's ear! you could ladder stitch inbetween the fold to make it stay down like that, im not sure if it'll stay in this particular instance as the ears would be a little heavy but i think that's a way to get away with it without any wire :] just a little idea!

I have a plush with ears like this (one straight one folded) and instead of that it uses this kinda foamy material? It's a 1/2 inch thick sheet and for the straight ear it's just cut flat and for the folded ear I assume it's just two sheets glued/stitched together or heat formed somehow. I'd need to cut it open to check though. It leaves the ears soft but also keeps their shape while staying bouncy! I personally dislike the ladder stitch thing since that restricts the movement. I like being able to flip stuff up and look in all the crooks and nannies.

I had an idea for that too! You could use a thick piece of felr for the bottom and sew in a small beanbag to the tip, just to give enough weight for the floppy ear! (Coming from a fursuit maker as this is the technique for flopped fursuit ears except usually the weight is the fur but for extra floppy ones ive seen makers glue coins to the foam!)

Have you Considered Fabric Glue? I know it's cheating, but it's probably the only way to get some of the details on the Plushies. Like the wires on the endos or even the teeth. Not to mention it would make the Plushies that gave you emotion and Mental Breakdowns a lot easier to make in the future if you decide to make them. Because I won't lie, Mangle looks like it's ready to die XD but honestly it's the best mangle ever made so far

Have you ever considered using fleece instead of felt? In my experience it's identical in utility, but slightly softer. It's used by companies like Build-A-Bear in place of felt

If these ever became actual products somehow, there could be two versions, normal would have no wires and as little handstitching as possible, and then a more expensive collector edition with handstitching and wires in the ears (and maybe heavier weights in certain plushes, the heaviness/hardness wouldn't matter much for collectors)

For the folded ears, could you put felt in them like you do for the other ears, but make it in two parts so it's "weaker" in the middle, causing it to flop? You could even sew them together, either loosely with whip stitches like two pages of a spiral notebook or tightly so the felt would touch each other, both of which might not have the best shape... Aaa idk

I would suggest sewing on the details like the lips and eyes before sewing the pieces together so you could get them to lay cleaner, other than that it looks amazing and is a great first go!

the plush did turn out to be kinda like a funko version of the design just because its so wonky. it is using high quality materials but the endo head just looks round and the face is just not it, it looks so messy just bcz author decided to wing it. the mangle head i am also not a fan of. looks not as messy as endo, but still feels kinda low detail and the ears being all over the place just further enhances that funko feeling it has. also i think, as stated in the video, the box base is a little too big. however i liked the look of the wiring, it was def a nice touch. all in all, it works as a prototype but def needs more refining and precision.

I just thought I made it up myself because I sucked at making good looking faces so I'd sculpt it afterward. Also I'm so happy I was recommended your video! I could've liked this video.. and I do overall! It just gets a little annoying to go into a video by a creator you've never watched because of the mention of a topic and creator you _are_ interested in, then the new creator goes "I changed XYZ about the original thing cos I'm lazy/in my personal opinion..." Especially when your video narrative is based around a sort of "challenge" (seeing if you can translate Biz' designs to real life) it just gets a little messy and hard to follow when all of a sudden parts of the challenge are being thrown out the window to make it less of a challenge. It started to feel like someone wanted to make IRL FNaF plushies, saw Biz' video, thought "oh, I don't want people to think I copied them" so they claimed "inspiration" and ended up majorly capitalizing on showing Biz' work in the thumbnail for a video that feels like it could've done just fine with zero use of Biz' name or work.
