love this, I have a uk market proton coupe (putra) and I adore the asti/lancer coupe. Money no object I would love one like yours some day. I would love to see it restored and used as a mild fast-road car, you have the satria already for when you want to be blasted back into your seat so I think it would be more interesting for you to go down a milder route with this one! Like you said, the comfort difference between this and the satria is something to cherish so I really think past maintenance and repairs all this one needs is some nice wheels, maybe optional extras if you can find them and some light handling mods. Would be a lovely car to daily that way I think!! And god forbid, please dont sell!! Great to see someone posting about these awesome and often forgotten Mitsubishis. Of course all of above is just my opinion, no hate or judgement intended! Peace from England.

I like the idea of a mild fast-road car haha. You're absolutely right - the satria is purely for power and fast, this would be more of car that I could drive hard and be within the law. that's what i love about it. I might go down the road of just basic handling, suspension and brakes. maybe a cam and a tune to liven up the engine a little. it'll make a fun daily

AusLancer is a forum full of useful info about them. It's a cool community. Parts are moderate since they were quite common about 10 years ago or so and it was a popular car among new drivers (P Platers) It varies from state to state, but mods it's not as strict as people made it out to be. As long as it doesn't stand out too much and obnoxious then it's generally okay. Speeding on the other hand it's straight up draconian. hefty fines people for 3km/h per hour over the limit
