I Rode Top Thrill 2 at Cedar Point Before it Closed! My Thoughts and a Review!

Thad the Theme Park Giant visited Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio last weekend, mainly to check out the new Top Thrill 2 (TT2). This is the new roller coaster for 2024 at the park, taking the existing Top Thrill Dragster ride, and adding a backwards spike and reverse launch to it! I was able to ride it on Friday, May 10th, the day before it closed due to unforeseen issues. While the ride is currently not operating, the hope is to have it up and running again soon! Here are my thoughts on the ride experience that I had while I was there!

I rode it within the first hour opening day. I was in row 2 and definitely noticed shaking periodically. It is an incredible ride though. It's the backwards launch up the spike that does it for me. My new number 1, just above SV.

Honestly, I really loved Top Thrill 2, those LSM launches were super punchy. I think what sold the ride was the theme, and the fact that it leaned into more of the Formula 1-esque story is great. However I need to figure out what song is playing on the speakers as you roll out onto the launch track.

I thought the launches were great. Wish the first one had a little more behind it, but the 2nd and 3rd launches were both great. Hopefully they get the issues sorted out soon!
