I've been fortunate enough to make my full-time living for almost 8 years as a fiction author, and it is amazing and I don't once take it for granted. So anyone reading this, please don't think I'm complaining, because I'm absolutely not. There's nothing else I'd rather be doing and I understand how privileged i am. That said, when you "have" to write (or make content in your instance) whether you're "in the mood" or not because it pays your bills, the fact of the matter is that it just changes your relationship with it, and you also have to make business decisions often over creative or artistic ones. I have ideas for novels I'd love to write, but I can't afford to spend 3-6 months working on them because they're too risky for me to try to put in front of my pre-existing audience. I've come to this place where "retiring" for me is where I am making enough passive income off my backlist where I can afford to write whatever I want. All that said, I've often considered making video game content, but I know if I do then I'll want to try to turn it into something more, and it'll take much of the joy out of gaming. So I have been very protective of just keeping gaming as my hobby for that reason, and am happy to remain a consumer of gaming and gaming content. Turning your passion into your career and primary source of income is incredible, but it also has its downsides. Your channel is awesome, and keep up the good work, brother.

That's awesome man I've always wanted to get into writing I was great in school but have no idea where to start any tips??

@@tonyscowboyshow2344 If you're just talking about getting into writing itself, the best thing you can do in my opinion is just start writing, and make sure you read a lot. Many writers will tell you to read anything, but I would put a focus in the genre you love and want to write. It will help you get in tune with the conventions and tropes that readers expect (which also helps you turn those same conventions and tropes on their heads.) There are a lot of books on the craft of writing, but honestly, reading what you wanna write and writing it are going to get you so far. If you want to make it a career, there are some great resources out there on the business of writing. The Creative Penn is an amazing podcast done by my friend, Joanna. She's been doing that podcast since around 2009 and covers a ton around both self-publishing and traditional publishing. I hope this helps, even if only a little.

@@tonyscowboyshow2344 Hey dude! If you're talking about just getting into the art of writing, the best advice I can give is to read a lot (primary in the genre you love and want to write) and just get in the chair and write. There's so many books on the craft of writing, but honestly nothing replaces just reading and writing. Just start. As for the business of writing, that's a whole other skillset to learn, but there's a lot of great resources out there. I'd recommend checking out books by Joanna Penn and her podcast, The Creative Penn, which has been running since I think 2009. She's awesome. She does focus more on self-publishing than traditional publishing though. Best of luck to you!

I have a PC that can pretry much run any game and a Xbox series S, but for the last 6 months I'm only playing on my switch. It changed my view of videogames in general, so much fun. Nothing beats some Mario or Pokemon to relax at the end of the day

I recommend anyone to put the controller down for a bit and build some model kits
@Xoulrath_Күн бұрын
I mean, you'd have to like model kits for that to be of any benefit. But I get your point. Put the controller down and do something else for a while.

From my perspective, you are struggling with something I call work-hobby balance. This happens when your job and hobby are the same. In my case, it works like this: Sometimes, I have to work on and/or repair computers that are not my favorite to work on. After a long week of that, sometimes the last thing I want to do is work on my computer, even though I usually love to tinker with/mod my gaming rig. The secret I have found is separation. For me, that means I go for a whole weekend, or day or two, without touching computers, which helps my brain reset. I have reminded myself that taking a break and giving my brain a break is okay. I also understand that it is normal and okay when your job and hobby are the same.

Swapping out the stick and buttons on that 8bitdo stick is super easy and fun. Might make great content, too!

The 8bitdo arcade stick is amazing, coincidentally it’s my most popular video and I think it’s for a reason, there’s something to beautifully nostalgic about playing these classics on an arcade stick it just takes you back to a simpler time

People can see through the BS. If you were to go in and force Black Ops 6 for the content, it wouldn't land or sustain. Keep being consistently you.

You need to think of yourself as the content and not the game you're playing. If you are fun to watch, YOU are good content and people will watch just for you.

Ive tried to play ff 7 and it felt like a chore sadly and I made it pretty far. Combat felt slow it, was hard to find things using the map, and I had to keep fighting battles while struggling to find where to to go. Now pokemon fire red and orcarina I have an easier time playing
@matts19783 күн бұрын
How are you playing it? The newer versions like the combo on the switch with 7 and 8 have some great quality of life improvements. For example, If you are lost or want to explore you can just turn the battles off. It's helpful.

@matts1978 I tried playing the psp version. But maybe I should try on switch 🤔
@matts19783 күн бұрын
@fastfreeze0183 Yea, it plays pretty well on the switch. I think all the modern console ports have the quality improvements built in.
