I am 64 and I have to say In spite of some health problems this is the happiest I have been in my life. Do not fear ageing . With age comes excepting your self for who you really are and contentment. I wear what I want eat what I want do what I want . I am very happy with the simple things in life

I'm trans, and it's been absolutely wild how the comments on my appearance have magically vanished as I am perceived more as male. No one ever comments on my weight or my clothes or tells me to smile. I also don't get compliments anymore! But I'm not complaining. Sending you solidarity, dear Ana. The most beautiful look is authenticity.

I hate that there’s this “shame” component associated with aging, especially as a woman. At 42, I’ve made the conscious decision to love myself - no strings attached - and not cling desperately to youth. None of us are here forever, and people tend to forget: we can choose where to invest and direct our thoughts. To me, resisting the inevitable is a waste of energy. I feel more calm, strong and centered than ever, and frankly don’t care if I become more “invisible” with age. After all, my purpose in life - this goes for all of us - is NOT to exist simply to please others, and march along dutifully to the demands of society. I’m here to get my hands dirty. I’m here to connect on a deeper level, learn, experience, and have fun! Thank you for highlighting these things that can worm their way into our minds and mess with our quality of life.

I only recently learned to say no to my fantasy self. Having ADHD I always hoped there would be a future version of me that would not procrastinate, that would never forget important things, that would have enough energy to work fulltime, have a full social life and be able to take care of myself. I now realise that I have to choose. I can't do all those things. And that's okay. Thanks again for such a wonderful video. I really appreciate it :)

Ana you are beautiful inside and out 🥰 I am 60 yrs old and feel the same about aging. As I get older I realize being healthy and taking care of my body is key. Yes, I see the wrinkles but to me they are badges of life! I also find true joy in living simply, only buying what I need and using what I have. Living a vegan lifestyle has really helped since it benefits my body, the animals and our planet! You have also been very inspirational to me and I love listening to your thoughts, opinions and ideas. Keep being you! Sending love from the U.S 💕

Your authenticity is what drew me to your channel in the first place. And I agree with you about the eternal youth culture. I am 56 and not afraid of getting older. I think it's because I never really gave it much thought and I have a youthful spirit like my mother had. It actually attracts a lot of young people to me. Getting older truly is a gift. Also, I don't enjoy short form content either so I avoid most social media platforms and I don't befriend people I don't know on them ( I rarely befriend people that I DO know). I tend to go against the current in most aspects of my life. I don't follow trends and stuff like that and I listen to music that enriches my spirit so I don't listen to commercial radio.

I love the point about choosing my information feed. I don't have TikTok or twitter or Facebook and I don't allow apps to send notifications on my phone (except for phone calls and texts from my family or my kid's preschool). It's so relaxing to not be flooded with information and things trying to grab my attention every time I pick up my phone to check what time it is.

Another insightful message Ana, thank you. Yes, being true to our genuine self is a very positive way to life. Sometimes it takes a lot of work to find the real self inside of the one we created following the societal norms, from the culture in which we are raised. Sometimes, even after we have discovered our inner truth, we still (like you mentioned) lie to ourselves and pretend to be what society expects us to be. Yet, the more we get in touch with the authentic Being we are, the easier it is to live that authenticity; but like you said, we are all human and letting go of old habits, ideas, thoughts, attitudes, etc. does not always go as smoothly or as painlessly as we would hope. As I watch you videos, I see the progress you are making and I rejoice for you. There are days when I notice my own progress and other days when I wonder if I have made any progress at all. The ebb and flow of life bring many opportunities to get to know ourselves and live in the best way we can, celebrating our uniqueness, and the uniqueness of those we encounter throughout our lives. One last thought. I know I feel much more comfortable with people who are doing their best to be true to themselves. They always encourage me. You encourage me. Thanks Again.

Ana, your true and authentic soul shines so brightly! I am 53, and one thing I enjoy about aging is that with every passing year I care less about what other people think, and instead ask myself what I am thinking and feeling about things. You can’t see yourself unless you look in a mirror. I’m always so shocked when people kindly offer to help me with carrying my groceries or other tasks; I forget that I look old. When I put on my yellow sunglasses I fancy that I look quite sophisticated, but I have no idea what other people think. Our eyes only see out. I think we are meant to see other people’s reactions as clues to how we come across, but for the most part, it doesn’t matter how we look. We can feel our fitness, or lack of fitness. We can see and identify our body parts. But we don’t know our face. I think that’s easier. I can use my face to make expressions to show my feelings. That’s enough for me. I’ll just make up how I think I look! A fantasy face! I hope you and Brian are doing well. Much love!

Sometimes I can't believe how rude some people are when they say things they think are "helpful". When this happens, I tend to give up on people. None of us, who have already passed 21, will never be 21 again. I, like you, very much choose not to play the game. If we cannot be valued for who we are then those judging us and not worth our time. I'm happy to see you embracing your authentic self. It's always amazing isn't it, how free some people feel to comment on the looks, weight, etc. of others, especially women. I'm older than you but have never worn much make up and I've never gotten any facial work done. I do choose to colour my hair because it makes me feel good. I think I take after my mother in this regard. She never felt the need to do much but where she and I differ is she loved to dress up and do hair and make up if she had somewhere to go. I don't do that. She also wore full make up in her younger years whereas I only wear lip gloss and sometimes mascara. People always felt the need to comment on her weight gain and that always bothered me. It's a good thing her self-confidence wasn't affected much by what others had to say. (I do still get compliments but over time less so. I'm slowly accepting my aging self mainly due to physical limits rather than external looks). All the best wishes with continuing to embrace yourself and what makes you happy.

I love how you look! Please don’t get all fake looking, you look very young to me, not that looking young is important. I’m 68 and don’t do anything except eat a healthy WFPB diet and getting some simple exercise. I stay thin and feel good most of the time. Still working and enjoying my minimalist life.

Oh wow, I’m catching up. I found I was no longer subscribed. I love that you are aging as you wish. Also, what???!!! to those comments about your appearance. You’re perfect just as you are! I do hope you are using a good sunscreen - you can use a tinted one (or tint it yourself) as they can make is look ashen. I will mark this video to rewatch. Much good food for thought.

Soviet? I find your style very mod.. Parisian almost. I also like simple geometric haircuts, bohemian hats, new ways of pairing things. What is feminine anyway? Do we still use that word? It’s anything you want it to be, or don’t want it to be. Love your look and your channel Ana ❤️

Ageing: now i'm at a later stage of ageing, where it means limited movement, joint problems, and caring for ageing parents. I accept it too much: i never go out or meet friends, i never do keepfit (very limited chance to do it), i accept never getting another job despite my current one being bad for my health... my fantasy self does what she wants, and that's bad because it means i accept never doing it (except in terms of eating endless food and getting ever fatter)

I agree with your thoughts. My fantasy self is something I struggled with for many years. And it is such a waste

Hi Ana, yeah, it's tough to choose which online news and media to watch. We need accurate reporting of the events that affects us so much - the war, AI, tensions between democracies and autocracies, the emerging influence of the global south, NATO and Russia. I've found a few individuals and outlets that offer truthful reporting and opinions and try to stick with those. As always, your thoughts on these important topics invite us to contemplate and contribute. 🙂

Hi Ted! Ugh, it's pretty hard to find accurate and objective reporting nowadays, but this is yet another reason to practice analytical thinking more 😊 I often want to "relax" my brain, but can't, at least with news and the current agenda it's impossible for me now. I always have to filter, analyze and stay alert.

Im starting to realize how culture can shape our perception of life. This would be ok if it wasnt so biased towards the young, the attractive, and the dramatic. The truth is life contains so much more. Even the “ugliness “ of life is a well spring of beauty when you let fully let it in. Because it is the cool calm shadow that is a refuge from the intensity of the bright burning sun. Great video! Thanks for your hard work , Ana.

We just need more equality. Let's shame males for aging. Males are expired after 30 plus they loose all their hair. No one like old bald males

I think you are very pretty, Ana, and I think you look like you're 18! You don't need makeup. Being vegan really helps keep a person lovely. You take good care of yourself. I am vegan too, and my daily yoga certainly helps me stay youthful in a huge way. People can stay young at heart, and in body for a long time. The truth is far better than the cultural opinions.

I was always surprised when I used to watch youtubers doing their make up routine online that they looked better and younger without!!!! I do use mascara and lipstick like you but nothing else anymore. I wished I had focused more in my youth on taking care of my skin and not so much on covering it!!! I also would like to be able to see more youtubers with different styles of clothing and not always being told what same "essentials" I should have in my closet. And at last: being older you care less of what other people think about you!!!!
