I do the same thing! Not with Primark (we don't have that in the US) but to coats and cardigans I find at TJ Maxx and or Marshalls; it makes a garment have that little touch!

I think the vinyl trousers actually work, especially with the darker tops, for some reason with the camel coat and the cream top they are a little plasticky so if you are on the fence I would not keep. However, the sequin pair are fantastic, and look like they would work with everything you tried on. What I like about options from these types of stores is as you travel if your baggage is lost or the garment is ruined due to activity, it is less of a wrench to give them up.

Primark can have some good quality pieces, just need to have a good mooch and feel fabric, check buttons, try on etc. Generally the tailoring isn't as good as more expensive shops but you can find some hidden gems. Love this haul. Always enjoy watching your video's ❤

I've had a soft spot for Primark since my teen years and, while there are some very poor quality items (usually because the fabric used is very cheap and therefore the construction suffers), there are some really great pieces that are made with decent quality fabric.

Fun fact did you know it was Irish and here it’s called “Penny’s” but when it set up in UK as JC Pennys already owned a trademark in the UK (they had plans to expand). Here it’s still called Pennys even though we adopted Euro (& cents) in 2002, so it’s ironic it’s not the name used in the UK (where you still have Pennys)

Some things at primark are good but you really need to search for it sometimes. Jumpers I wouldn’t advise as they get smelly super quick due to the acrylics they use. But sometimes you find a gem 🤷🏻‍♀️ but socks and cotton panties (which is hard to find seems 100% cotton) is brilliant for it

The trousers look great on you. I feel you should keep those. The sequined pair would look great with a sparkly or sequined blazer and a delicate lace blouse in white or cream. (The V&A has a Chanel suit from Diana Vreeland in this style). Personally, I would give your 'mistake' Gucci boots a try with the vinyl trousers. Maybe paired with a striped jumper. As always, I enjoy your videos.

In my opinion the teddy coat looks nice on you- bulky as intended and not like a dressing gown at all. The quality might not be the best... maybe because it´s from a celeb collaboration? (I own very few fairly classic pieces like a blazer from Primark and they are amazing quality especially regarding the prices.) As for the coat. Yes, to me 45 GBP sounds like a lot of money for plastic too. A while ago I bought a vintage 70ies coat in a similiar design at a fleamarket for about the same price (and thought it was expensive!) but it´s real sheepskin, extremely warm and very, very well made. Only it´s hard to find great vintage pieces and one has to be comfortable with vintage in general.

The vinyl trousers look pretty cool, but oh my goodness the sound of them was a lot. If you thought the inside of the coat sounded plasticy, the camera was picking up the sound of the pants like crazy! I was listening with headphones so maybe it's not as bad in real life, but that would drive me crazy. The sequined pants were fun for the holidays, I liked them!

I don’t often comment and I’m only a few seconds in but I feel like I have been waiting forever for this! Also, did you know, Primark is one of the most ethical brands out there - they’re even more ethical than designer. Factories are much better and workers well paid. I was shocked when I found out. Some of my fave pieces are twenty years old and from Primark. Quality is second to none.

sophie, i'm afraid to tell you this but, you won't have to wash those jeans lol just wear them as much as possible cause those things will disintegrate on their first wash. that's my experience with primark sweaters so i can't imagine those holding up at all. it's the reason i stopped buying stuff in primark cause i like to keep stuff around for long, those stores are for people who go and "dress for the occasion" and then probably throw them out. but the home goods are pretty!

I grew up with Primark (Penneys in Ireland). It's great for basics & you will find the odd gem in there that you keep for years. Generally I don't try stuff on, just do a couple of hauls a year & keep the bits I like. It's not for a long term wardrobe, more medium to short term 😊 I've tried to buy more quality pieces of late

There are lots of people who don’t shop in Primark; it’s usually for reasons like the ecological impact and unfair labour conditions these places inflict. For some people, the low prices don’t make up for all the other consequences of shopping there.

I always buy cotton clothing at Primark. And the quality is pretty good. Last for years. However I never buy anything made out of synthetic fibers. Your better off also buying clothes from better brands on sale and secondhand and if you can make your own clothes

Wear black, navy blue, or white with those pants. The brown jacket does not look right with those pants. Skip the sparkly pants and skip the coat, as I'm pretty sure you will not like them once they are on and you are out and about in them. I'm poor so I buy at Shein. I love their Frenchy and Lune collections. Most of the clothes in the world come from China, so I don't want any comments about Shein factories. I don't agree with sweatshops but I'm willing to bet most clothes are made in them. Also, when you don't have the money, you have no choice. I actually love their clothes and their sweathers are better quality than most people give them credit for. Love your videos. :) Happy Christmas!

Great vlog, I had to laugh as you are the last person I'd expect going to Primark, brill to try though, the vinyl trousers looked better on you than the faux leather IMO. I felt awkward in there but my grand daughter dragged me in & I agree theres a few worthwhile bits in there, especially anything thats going to go out of trend very fast, why spend a fortune? No offence ladies but not all of us have the lovely budget to buy quality pieces that will last us. Even stores like Zara ect can be over priced. I can say that hand on heart I have items from primark I have had for years and there still good enough to this day to wear. I know its personal preference in where u shop and if luxury is your budget then fantastic go u.. but just remember not everyone is in the position to be able to afford as said likes of even next or h n m especially in this credit crunch and cost of living. So saying ppl who buy from primark should be more mindful of the working conditions of those that make the items well.. that is sad yes but on other hand the majority of ppl these days in reality can only just barely afford places like primark.
