I am 13, i used to play video games when i woke up at 5 in the morning and played untill i went to sleep at 10 in the evening. But now after i watch your videos, i am a changed man. I get up take a shower and do 50 pushups in the morning then i read for half an hour. After that i spend time with family and do generally good things. Thanks man, i really appreciate you !

Doing the first three things of, waking up early and showering, push-ups and reading is easy. But how does your family have time to be with you? Mine is always working, my sister always either works or stays in her room, and shes moving out soon. My parents come home at 5, they watch tv or do some chores. I don’t choose not to be with them at times other than dinner. I literally cannot.

I find it's enough to just spend some time on the floor laying or napping regularly. Like you said in the beginning. You listen to your body. When I feel too sore and stiff, I spend a night ore a few hours on the floor, and it has the effect you described. Sometimes, I'll wake up early around 3-4am having slept in my bed in the first part of the night. Then I'll "finish" on the floor by spending the last 1-2 hours of my sleep with my blanket and a couple pillows on the floor, sometimes a yoga mat too. I've been doing this instinctually since I was a kid. At 40, I still do this, so I can recommend at least trying it.

Guys trust me, sleeping on the floor is insanely nice once your used to it and it only actually takes about 3 days to get used to it. One thing that I like about it is the pressure and it is like a nice massage. The only problem is that my mum doesn’t like it when I sleep on the floor some reason, so mostly I have to sleep on my bed and lots of nights I end up laying on the floor and I’ve obviously went onto the floor while half asleep because it feels much better 😂😂

also sleeping in beds is better for your health in some ways your backbones will probably be deformed if you sleep on the floor or even if they're already deformed then beds will keep a good pressure on your backbones and help for sleep

@@Pterotaktik I forgot to mention, now that it’s been a few days. I swap between them. I may sleep on the floor one night. But then the next night sleep on a bed. I rolled out my yoga mat grabbed my memory foam pillow and blanket. I fell asleep and slept well all night. I woke up surprised to feel good. My back actually was not causing me extreme pain with every movement. Their is truly something to the grounding pressure that can work healing miracles on the body. I am absolutely convinced. Thank you for sharing your journey and story too! Blessed Be ✨🌟✨

I've slept on the floor for the around 8 years and I have found it to be very helpful. Here are some of my observations: Your hip flexors really matter. The pulling on the spine from the hip flexors causes a ton of discomfort for new floor sleepers. It certainly did for me. I recommend doing a knees-over-toes style split squat and getting a gentle 45 second stretch twice on each side. Your temperature is FAR better regulated by floor sleeping. I grew up in the south, where 100f degree days in the summer are the norm. Sleeping on the floor allows your heat to be CONDUCTED out of your body much more efficiently than convected out by the air. Body temperature regulation is one of the greatest benefits to sleeping on the floor in my opinion - you really cant fall asleep until your body temperature has fallen a bit, and the floor is a very very good way to do that. Additionally, you don't have to keep your bedroom at 62f (insane for a number of reasons when the night time temps don't really fall below 90f). You also get the added benefit of reducing water loss from the air when you inevitably kick off the covers which helps keep you more hydrated. The fact that some companies are starting to create water cooled beds (beds that remove heat with conduction instead of convection) is the source of some amusement to me - I get that benefit for free! Drinking a volume of water (not even cold) will also help with this - bed or floor. If I wake up in the middle of the night and have that claustrophobic too-hot feeling I get about 7 or 8 good sips and I am back to bed very quickly. Running your hands under cool water is also very helpful for this too. Another benefit to floor sleeping is that you can use your foam roller right as your going to bed. I always have a lacrosse ball and a roller near me when I sleep. For years and years I would do it every day (school has kicked me off the habit). Some nights I would fall asleep on my lacrosse ball because I was able to get so relaxed. Trying to roll out in a bed it can be rather tough. Some cross body tapping reviewing my day really helps me fall asleep as well (the technique is a modified EMDR technique in case your interested). I have slept on the floor so long that I when I return to the bed I legitimately sleep worse. I wake up and notice that I am just not as loose as when I sleep on the supportive floor. Especially on older beds in hotels. Speaking of mattresses, you don't ever have to replace a mattress ever again, and nor is there a steady decline in sleep quality until you decide to spend a heinous amount on a new mattress! I sleep in a an old REI sleeping bag I've had for as long as I've been sleeping on the floor. It provides just enough cushion while also being insulative enough to just work. Additionally, you'll never loose your blankets in a sleeping bag - for some people it wont work, but for me it is awesome! The first few nights I slept in a sleeping bag on the floor I woke up with that magic under-the-covers-at-the-perfect-temperature feeling every night. I recommend standing up and stepping into the bag instead of trying to shimmy it over your body laying down. If you do camp, sleeping on the floor is a great way to get a good nights sleep when you go to the back country for a weekend. Solving that problem is what originally pushed me to sleep on the floor in the first place. I think its worth experimenting with all these factors if you decide to give this a go. The small women with a large hip to waist ratio that I've mentioned sleeping on the floor to (my partner) have not been very keen on it. So it almost certainly will not work 100% for everyone in all situations, but I think there is a lot to be learned from at least trying it for something beyond a week. Lastly, the thing that truly changed my sleep forever was using mouth tape (as recommended in James Nestor's book Breath). enforced nasal breathing is truly a life saver and made my sleep around 1 order of magnitude (legitimately 10x) better. Thanks!

6 months ago, i switched to sleep in the living room on a sofa (because my bed was very messy that day), and note that that sofa is harder than floor. My family was confused of how could i sleep in a very unconfortable place, but for me it was hard the first days but every since that time i wake up everyday at 4:00-5:00 AM and i feel very fresh, more than anyone in the house lying on a soft confortable bed. Now i think after watching the video its time to levelup and starting to sleep on the floor. I'll keep you updated :) Day 1: I really suggest you guys to pay attention on the temperature, because i read a lot of blogs talking about how sleeping on a cold floor will hurt your body and bones very much. So for my first day (or night) i putted a slightly thick bed sheet on the floor (still unconformable) and i slept from 11:00 PM to 5:10 AM feeling very fresh and new, i didn't woke up i the middle of the night (maybe because i used to sleep on a hard sofa). I feel very stretched and athletic and somehow i tried to hand stand in the middle of the day and i got about 6 to 10s of time until i fell, i usually take a maximum of 3s. Now i am very excited for the future new capabilities my body can do.

I’ve been sleeping on a shikibuton (Japanese floor bed) for about 4 months. My mobility has improved greatly and most of my morning aches and pains have gone away. I used to not be able to get up off the floor or do a single squat, now I get up and down with ease and regularly squat to do daily tasks. I also sleep through the night now. I keep it folded up during the day and when it’s bedtime, I lay it out and put my pillows down and I’m able to fall asleep and stay asleep really easily. Seriously one of the best decisions I’ve made.

I realised you are like a big brother to the guys who are younger than you and have problems. It’s not only porn addiction, bad sleep, achievements. You are a good and young person and that’s the important thing! So, yeah, keep pushing, you got this!

I’m glad this helped you. I did this for about 3 weeks while camping (I’m guessing a sleeping bag on a tent floor counts?) and I actually had the opposite experience. I somehow broke my sleeping bag by the end of the trip, probably from fidgeting because I just can’t be still. I’ve tried so many different things to stop fidgeting during the day (none of it’s worked) but at night I can’t really stop myself from fidgeting when I’m fully asleep. And I can’t seem to get to sleep without wiggling my body lol it’s odd. And on the floor fidgeting is even more uncomfortable but my body just won’t stop it feels almost like involuntary. And it’s not like I’m not getting enough exercise or anything, I’ve improved my diet a lot since a year or so ago and I’ve always loved cycling and I do stuff like lifting weights etc. Anyway sorry for the ramble comment I just thought I’d share my experience cos it feels like everyone else here has had a positive experience with it so I feel kinda like what’s wrong with me haha

I’m gonna do the 7 day challenge to see what it does to my body, my body isn’t that flexible and I haven’t been doing a lot of stretching so I hope that this will bring me back to stretching and make my body not so tight. Edit: Day 1, I removed my mattress last night and surprisingly slept for about 6 hours. I woke up at 4 am surprised that I got so much sleep I start adjusting myself to a more comfortable position when I feel something crawl on my leg I don’t think much and decide to grab it When I grabbed it a surge of pain went into my finger because what I had grabbed was a scorpion. Long story short I got up went downstairs and applied ice and never fell back asleep. I am a little scared to sleep on the ground again but I hope that it doesn’t happen again and will still do the challenge. I will update y’all every night.Edit:Day 2, I prepared my bed after checking for the scorpion but no luck so I did some research and cinnamon is a repellent so I sprinkled some cinnamon around my bed and went to sleep. I woke up 3 time last night but I fell asleep almost immediately after waking up but I am a little tired. I will update y’all every night.Edit: Day 3, So Last night was the same but I only woke up once so I am pretty excited to see tonight’s sleep, I am hoping I get a full 8 hours of sleep. I will keep you updated every night.Edit: Day 4,well I was hoping not to wake up last night but I did, I woke up 2 times which kinda suck because I have a bowling tournament and now I am kinda tired. I will update y’all every night.Edit: Day 5, it was like any normal sleep but I just woke up 2 times.Edit: Day 6, Finally I got a full 8 hours of sleep, last night I did not wake up once during it, I am excited for tonight.Edit: Day 7, Well I woke up a lot of times because it was so cold in my house I could not get warm but it felt really good and I was not tired. I forgot to write in the morning so before I went to bed I wrote this and as I am about to go in my bed I realized, last night was my last night of the challenge I didn’t need to sleep on the floor again and I thought about it, do I go back to the bed or do I sleep on the floor and I thought about this for a good 5 minutes but as I was thinking I was seeing all the benefits to sleeping on the ground I could feel myself becoming better I felt a lot of things become not as hard as before, my bed isn’t that comfy so that is why I probably didn’t see much improvement with my flexibility but things just felt easier, so as I was thinking my head said go back to the bed but my heart said stay sleeping on the floor and I once saw a video saying to always believe what your heart is saying and also it just felt right sleeping on the floor, so I will sleep on the floor tonight but sleep on my bed tomorrow just to see what happens. So in my concussion, sleeping on the floor is really nice and I did see myself improve by sleeping on the floor. So pls try this challenge I truly believe it will help you and hopefully you won’t get stung by a scorpion.

I started sleeping on the floor (on a 1-inch thin camping matt) in 1999. I was pregnant, and my shoulders and hips were being pushed out of their sockets every night in a normal bed. Society told me I needed to be raised off the floor so I bought an ensemble base with no mattress, layed a solid wood panel on top of the base, then placed 1 layer of EVA camping matt, then a 2inch memory foam mattress topper. I've been sleeping like this for the last 24 years because laying in normal bed pushes my joints out of position. This video made a lot of sense to me. Thanks for sharing your adventure 😀

I tried it for 7 days and heres how it went: Day 1 - my floor is carpeted and its quite scratchy so i got a pretty shit night of sleep and felt pretty bad the morning Day 2 - put a thin blanket on the floor which helped incredibly. Slept all the way through the night Day 3 - best nights sleep i have gotten in a while. Went to bed at 9:30 and woke up at 6 without an alarm feeling incredibly refreshed and no need to stretch Day 4-7 were pretty much the same as well. Defo gonna be sleeping on the floor from now on jack tysm 💪💪

I’ve been doing it during each college session without even realizing why it helps me so much. Now I analyzed it, and here are the reasons: 1)It’s WAY easier to fall asleep and wake up this way 2)It makes me feel better, as my body doesn’t feel so tight after I wake up 3)It prevents me from staying in bed for too long (it’s especially helpful to procrastinators like me) or accidentally falling asleep during the day 4)It decreases my neck and shoulder pain - in fact, I’ve never felt pain after I slept on the floor 10/10. Highly recommended.

You should also do a 7 day barefoot/minimalist shoe challenge. I started sleeping on the floor because I learned about and bought barefoot shoes with zero arch support and a wide toe box (strengthens your feet) Barefoot shoes made me think about how the shoes i used to wear were really cushiony and so was my bed, so i started sleeping on the floor with some blankets just to see if my body would feel as good as my feet and a few weeks later I completely moved my bed out of my room and have been floor sleeping ever since. tangent over, wish you all the best.

I’ve always told people that I prefer sleeping on the carpeted floor. I think it has to do with the “support” and how it keeps my shoulders from caving in/forward. A forward shoulder is usually associated with tenseness or anxiety. It’s sort of like the idea of “fake it till you make it”, where good posture can make you feel better. In addition, ATP (body’s energy molecule) can be switched to an “alert” molecule when the body is stressed. That can cause fatigue since ATP is no longer usable for energy in that state. This is also the reason for long-Covid fatigue.

I started sleeping on the floor in 2020. Haven't gone back to a bed since, in fact I got rid of my bed and put a treadmill in its place. So now my room is a mini gym and I sleep on a simple 6 foot folding mat. Some tips I've found if you choose to try this, make sure you have proper insulation, because the bare ground will suck the heat right out of you. Make sure to keep a tidy space and vacuum frequently. Give it a week or two. It's helped my shoulder issues a lot.

Actually, the real key to sleeping on the floor is to actually sleep on the ground, I'm talking about the floor of the earth, it works better if your house is actually on the ground. It works wonders. If your house is lifted off of the ground. It will not work like the way it does if you sleep on the ground, for example, go on a picnic and lay the blanket on the grass or lay the blanket on a corn field with bare dirt. And take a nap. This will ground you to the earth and charge your body. From what I hear. It really does not work at the beach on sand. It works more when you're on dirt. Even if you walk on dirt bare foot in the cornfield it helps your body to get charged from the earth... It keeps you grounded.

I’ve been sleeping on the floor for 15-20 years now. I’ve lost count 🤣. I love it. It really freaks people out though and I was self conscious about it for a long time until I worked in Korea and Japan and found it wasn’t very strange thing there. I have more space in my apartment since I just roll up a yoga mat or fold up my Japanese grass mat and put it away. I started when I would stretch or do yoga and I’d just grab a quilt and sleep stretched out on the floor. My sleep was so much better and I don’t wake up with tight shoulders or neck, my back feels good. I agree it may not be for everyone, but it is definitely worth trying out to see if it could help with ailments or energy or whatever. Plus, it is easy to clean a yoga mat or air out a grass mat on the porch. It feels cleaner than a mattress.
