The wick “haircut” complete with mirror for the “view of the back” followed by the “sweeping of the hair on the floor” had me LOLing hard.

I work in automotive repair and we use a smoke machine for finding leaks in various systems. The machine has a 12V heating element that vaporizes mineral oil. I wonder if mineral oil would work in your homemade device?

Interesting. That makes ..I'll have to give it a try next time I have the stuff out. Thanks for the comment. Does your usage rely on doors being open, good ventilation, etc? I'd guess it's better than the jet fuel / kerosene.

@@KeithsTestGarage We try not to inhale the smoke but we don't wear respirators or anything like that.

watched it all (like the rest of your vids), i really like your approach to projects and the humor, you definitely got a this-old-tony-thing going on there but with your own, unique style 👍💪🚀 awesome! one thing I'd love to see tested is the allegedly needed grounding of pvc pipes due to static charge buildup - really an issue or not?
@KeithsTestGarage
@KeithsTestGarage 5 жыл бұрын
Yeah I'm interested in the grounding of PVC pipes too but so far haven't thought of a good way to test that. Thinking....

A note of safety: Don't drop jet fuel into water, it will float on top of water, splashing fire as it goes down. It will stay lit. Maybe dry ice? (At least for localized smoke) That way you don't need to worry about stuff catching fire.
@KeithsTestGarage
@KeithsTestGarage 5 жыл бұрын
Yikes. That would be something interesting that I'd prefer not happen. Thanks for the insight. I'll add it to the pinned comment so it stays in view.

Baking soda works well to kill oil fires. I'm assuming kerosene would react the same way... or napalm?
@KeithsTestGarage
@KeithsTestGarage 5 жыл бұрын
I’d think kerosene would act similar since it’s something like 97%+ of the make up of jet fuel. (I waited to give my opinion in case the original commenter knows). I’m not sure about napalm...
@firearmsstudent
@firearmsstudent 5 жыл бұрын
@@KeithsTestGarage Kerosene will. As long as it is an oil that floats, that will happen.

Tips, questions, comments - post them below! Notable updates: * "May the Schwarz be with you" had a good safety clarification recommending to *not* throw jet fuel into a bucket of water: "A note of safety: Don't drop jet fuel into water, it will float on top of water, splashing fire as it goes down. It will stay lit. Maybe dry ice? (At least for localized smoke) That way you don't need to worry about stuff catching fire."

Keith's Test Garage nope, that’s not me, though I am a Dave Ramsey-ite, if that’s what FPU means for you. Anyway, I was curious because you mentioned Missouri and I noticed you had a lot of Grizzly equipment. Figured you were probably close to Springfield.

Okay, so, FWIW: 16:46 is the HOW TO portion of this. BUT... I DO urge visitors to watch the whole video, if for no other reason than it's hugely entertaining and witty. But the Green screen is a bit of a nuisance to hunt down, so here you go. But seriously: take 5 to stop and smell the roses on this one.
