jack is the best. still remember how i cold-outreached to him ~5 years ago to help with our company's product hunt launches, and he went out of his way to help. that was at such an early point in the biz and i needed traction back then, so i don't know where we would be now if he didn't help. thank you jack.

1:03:22 Jack is practical by doing what makes logical sense after questioning the premises of what something is supposed to be or what you're supposed to do. The "experts" with decades of experience were unable to find the same conclusions Jack found after his one week of learning and questioning. Awesome.

I admire the financial independence of people, But you can live better if you work a little more. After watching this I think there are people out there, on the extreme, who plan to die early just to be able to retire early. To each their own but to me, retirement isn't just about not having to work, it's about having the freedom to do whatever you might reasonably want, such as travel, buying things, enjoying life, etc. I don't think I could retire with less than $3m in income-generating investments, maybe $2m at the very minimum. I plan to work until I'm at least 45

Having an investment adviser is the best way to go about the market right now, especially for near-retirees, I've been in touch with a coach for a while now mostly cause I lack the depth knowledge and mental fortitude to deal with these recurring market conditions, I netted over $220K during this dip, that made it clear there's more to the market that we avg joes don't know

Great interview. Learning theory/fundamentals behind useless stuff is a bit underappreciated, much like government funding behind fundamental research. Learning for practical needs/interests can and should come at any age, but a healthy mix of fine arts and science while in school ain't so bad for a healthy society (we don't just need a ton of practical learners who only go down technical or financial rabbit holes for their specific needs - this leads to more optimization in the long run vs. innovation). I still do despise my Music 101 course...but opened my eyes a bit.

I’m not sure if this will be helpful to any parents out there that are having newborns. But when my daughter was a baby, there was this program called my baby can read. And what I can see from that program was that my daughter not only loves reading but she loves going to school. She loves learning new things and she already has an entrepreneurial mindset. She wants to be a corporate lawyer now and she decided this on her own, and it may change in the future, but I share this to say that my daughter gets perfect grades that is totally the opposite from me or her mother. I’m a young parent 34 and my daughter’s going to be 14. I haven’t always made the best decisions in life, but getting that program, for my daughter was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. My daughter gets straight A’s, and I tell her all the time if she got B’s or C’s would love her the same. This coming school year will be her first year in high school.

interesting. So how do you think that those two things come into balance, that you think we would not get along with each other, but you enjoyed listening to me as a guest? i.e. do you think there are some personality traits that could be annoying etc?
@TheRacerRich
@TheRacerRich Жыл бұрын
@@_jacksmith03 The not getting along with you is not about who you are but who we are. New age child rearing ideas, experimentation with drugs, meditation retreats, even long hair, are as opposite to my personality as possible. It's not about your having negative personality traits, but that we would be very unlikely to meet at all and having met have very little common ground. On the other hand, I think you have very interesting ideas, speak in a very engaging way, and are completely honest in your answers, and I love that your attitude is "your listeners like specific numbers, so here are the specific numbers [that nobody else shares]" Also, I can't believe you replied to me. Maybe I am wrong to say we wouldn't get along. Maybe the correct statement would be that we would be very unlikely to meet, and if we met we would disagree about most things related to our personal lives, but nevertheless get along.

Great guest, but what Nomad Capitalist does, and how they do it, and the type + amount of value they add to the process for their clients was very inaccurately explained, Jack hasn't gone deep enough into what they actually do to fully understand the value-add - it is a way better business model than he gave credit for, it's not just reselling for emigration lawyers, I've studied NC for some time - Andrew Henderson would make an interesting and probably-willing MFM guest. Thanks Sam.
