You have confused the Mimic with a simple program. If the Mimic has been talking to Cassie the entire time with Gregory's voice, then it's very possible that the Mimic cut the elevator. Not to mention, using the line I'm Gregory could have been the Mimic mocking Gregory.

What if Glam rock Freddy and Gregory's identity are on a 4-D chess of I fooled you where Gregory is the body William Afton intended for the crying child when he wanted to put him back together but Michael is the one to be in possession of that body and the crying child remains as Glam Rock and Cassidy is set free from the body and is one electricity like the avacadro from Call of Duty Black ops 2 but is still stuck to haunt William for having parts of them still mixed in with the crying child witbin Glam Rock. But scott confirmed that that actually was the bite of 87 and the retcon he made was the bite now happened in 83 and the 87 bite didnt happen he even hinted at it for matpat and went on to say in a interview 1983 was supposed to represent the year thr tv show freddy and friends was created but liked matpats theory and changed it to 83 cus it fit the narrative better
