@@Nothinglawr what u assume as worshipping Buddha is not the same as worshipping God First, Buddha is not a God. Depends on what u describe as God? Most people assume that there is a single entity that creates the world and living beings. There is no such entity in Buddhism. Buddha through his direct observation, learn that beings are created by their own karma. Yes, there also exist universal / natural laws, such as law of impermanence, law of how the life death cycle works, of how karma works etc, yet through his direct observation, Buddha cant find the first cause / creator of this life cycle besides of worldy desires / attachment (desires to indulge in wordly senses and desire to come into existence) What Buddha taught us are those particular knowledge, especially on how to break this suffering life, death and rebirth cycle (called samsara) Second, the action of worshipping, such as bowing, offering incense etc is actually part of ritual and tradition, which is more like honoring Buddha’s efforts in gaining those particular knowledge through countless lifetimes and then teaching it to us The ritual is to show gratitude and respect for that teaching. in fact the ritual itself is also an wordly attachment. Once you achieve the first of the 4 stages of enlightment, you will notice such rituals / worshipping doesnt really help in liberating the suffering cycle. so, in recap Buddha is not God, cause there is no such omnipotent being like creator. instead there are natural laws that give orders how universe and its beings works Worshiping is more like the act of showing gratitude and respect for the Buddha’s teachings. Hope you get a clearer point of view now Feel free to ask further, cause i am enthusiast and just starting to dig deeper Buddha teachings since my father’s death a year ago, and it was like finding truly valuable gems in those teachings

after watching this video, I am thinking about myself. I'm 21 now but i still not let go of the attachment and live in my parents' house, I cannot accept the situation living alone, no parents stay with me, go to a strange city and start my career... but nothing lasts forever, the only person makes me happy is myself, nobody else can do this for me because they will leave me one day. It is a very amazing video about Buddhism , everything is just temporary.

In eastern tradition, we will worship our teacher n parents in the past, n some country like Korea n Japan also practising, to show our respect to them, as thr Buddha is our great Teacher, so we shall worship him. As in Abrahamic religion, it only teaches u thar u should only to worship the one n only god, n that is the reason u will come out with this question.

I was an Anglican Christian half my life. There were so many gaps that the Christian ideology just could not fill for me: the problem of suffering; the silence of god; the contradiction between the actions of Christians and the words of Christ; the contradictions within their own texts; and the extreme violence caused by that religion throughout the world. All of these forced me to acknowledge that I was a secret Buddhist all along. Finding Dhamma (the core Pali Canon texts) was a revelation for me - a moment of complete and utter RATIONAL understanding. I no longer required belief in absurdities, faith in implausibilities, and trust in untrustworthy and (often times) immoral doctrines. I never looked back. Namo Buddhaya.

Actually Buddhism is not Atheism. The "Why" Lord Buddha didn't teach about the GOD Almighty is very clear. It was during his visiting around His Kingdom. He saw many peoples praying to the same Isvara, do the best in worshipping Brahman that manifesting in the Trimurti. But why people still suffering??? He saw that people fall sick, get old, died. He saw the reality of life. Some people extremely rich, some extremely poor. Some become slaves, born in the lowest caste, and so on. Slaves that being punished brutally by his master. Those people worshipping to the same GOD. But why those people life condition were different while they were full hearted praying & worshipping to Isvara??? Why??? Then Buddha found the useless of praying & worshipping to Isvara in searching the True Happiness (Nirvana/Moksha). The Buddha found that this Universe (manifestation of Brahman) being ruled in pañca-niyāma-dhamma. So, Buddhism is not Atheism. It doesn't teaching on GOD that doesn't meaning there is no GOD. Buddhism teaching on GOD as simple as It is not a super being creature, It has no beginning, It can't be understood by not enlightened mind, etc.
