Tips and Tricks for Nationalist China 1: Disband every division in the North West: To put it lightly, you are never going to recover them due to your massive debuff and it is just better to get the manpower and equipment for something else. 2: Hold at least two titles including Shanghai, you don't have to worry about being encircled since they can be resupplied by sea. 3: Retreat the rest of your divisions to a more defendable location preferably the South which is why you should disband every division in the North West as they are never going to make it before being encircled. 4: Hold until you successfully held Shanghai and well counterattack but yea it is harder then you think like honestly, the devs went completely over board with the buffs/debuffs...and ironic it was even worse back then, like I understand nerfing Nationalist China during its current state but god dam it is just pure pain trying to play as Nationalist China and sadly the Soviet just give you the middle finger in the end which is just wow.

The only reason they nerfed the ROC into oblivion is because of the lack of content it currently has. The CCP has heaps of content and events linked to their general existence, so to make sure the CCP doesn't have a chance of losing in AI games (or US games) they just debuffed the wacko out of 'em. Thankfully an update regarding ROC content is around the corner, so I'm very hopeful that makes it a bit more viable.

Land Reform is an important step in industrialization and modernization. If done right, Land Reform reorganizes the unjust concentration of wealth and disbands the feudalistic serf system. The French did it after the French Revolution. The Russians failed and their Empire collapsed. The British skipped this step with the Enclosure Movement causing a Major Rural Exodus. That's why 1/3 of the UK today is still owned by Aristocratic Land Owners.

I played this mod and I always love playing ROC, of course I take a few side steps by deleting like half of PRC's troops lol, but the gameplay and playing as ROC winning the Chinese Civil war is pretty god and interesting, I hope there is more investment into it, since I do tend to play it a lot, probably cause it'd be like the good ending irl for china from my pov and feels like a dream that came true

Hey Cam I remember in one of your videos you said unhistorical vanilla AI sucks because it always turns into central powers vs 4th internationale. So the fix for it is to manually select every country focus path to random in settings. Then the AI is completely random and they do not care which country the player plays or if its balanced.

You probably don’t care, but the Wang Ming guy who was put in charge of Communist China after Mao took a bow was one of Mao’s main communists rivals who lead the 28 Bolsheviks faction of the CCP and the only reason Mao could never kill him is because he had ties to Moscow and the Soviets forced them to keep him around.

Three things Loved the video, look forward to more of your content. Would be cool to see you play an older version of the cold war mod to play the outdated submod for the ROC. I it has more polish than the base mod. Though the submod is apparently being integrated in the next update so perhaps when the update release you can start with that. In the dev dairy theres talks of an game rule that didnt give you the debuff but if you lost these amount of cities each one would add to a debuff instead of what the current one is. I didnt check if the game rule does exist yet so I cant say with certianty of game rule existant.

The ROC in Cold War The Iron Curtain is designed from the ground up to be unwinnable. The mod makers did not want the PRC to be capable of losing. I played as the US and intervened in the war and still couldn’t beat the PRC. I did a test run where I put the PRC at war with every single country in the game and they still steamrolled the ROC. The only possible way for the PRC to lose was for them to replace their entire army with joke divisions consisting of nothing but max-width tanks and artillery, and they still won some battles. In the end if you manage to push them back to Beijing they go crying to Stalin and he makes them a puppet in a scripted peace you get no say in, letting them keep Manchuria and Beijing. After this the PRC eventually absorbs Mongolia and Sinkiang, while the only thing you really get to do as the ROC is do a few reforms and reintegrate Tibet. The mod is a joke and I refuse to play it ever again.
